  1. The Maryland Supreme Court has decided that firearms ballistic experts cannot give unqualified testimony regarding whether or not a particular bullet was fired from a particular gun because it’s just not scientifically possible. This is an excellent, excellent decision from a court striking at the junk science that comprises most of crime scene forensics.CSI may have been enjoyable television, but it’s also mostly science, fiction and fantasy. https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/marylands-highest-court-limits-ballistics-evidence-trials-100286757

  2. I have a CZ P-01 with a Baldr Olight with light, laser, or both at the same time. I'm very pleased with it as I usually run just the laser, but happy to have the light when I need it to confirm the target. I also carry a hand flashlight for general searches. I only carry OWB and it works great. Every handgun I buy now must have a rail for a laser/light.

  5. I have, and carry daily, a full kitted G19 w/Vortex Venom, a compensator, mag extension, and Olight Valkyrie Mini IWB or OWB with no problems on either or for concealability, but I use custom kydex holsters I molded and cut. I tried a lot of various holsters and lights, found that for what I wanted there wasn't a premade option available, and any holster maker around here was too busy to take on a special order, so I did it myself and couldn't be happier with the finished product.

  6. I am an Amateur Extra. This guy has a great YouTube channel. He does full training classes for all 3 license levels. He is very good explaining everything. Most just have you memorize information to pass the test. You will learn watching his classes. Finding a local club to join is definitely a must. https://w4eey.com/index.html Websites for practicing for exams. hamradioprep.com hamstudy.org

  8. Same as them, Hiawassee lake or mountain streams. I just feed the fish everywhere else. Give em a meal, make em work for it and they'll be bigger and stronger next time.

  9. I fished below Watts barr we caught a mess of bluegill with crooked tails and missing scales. I told my brother that I would not eat those. I only keep fish from mountain lakes or places like bald river falls.

  14. I have found a light too cumbersome and bulky for personal carry so I keep this in my Jeep as I am more likely to need it in a dark setting while out driving. Right now it is a Sig P-229 but I change out from time to time.

  15. Well, you posted this in the firearms classifieds so do the same thing but list details of what you want to sell. I recommend one post per gun titled appropriately. Include in your post body details of the firearm, pictures, location, terms, and price. There is no shortage of examples. It’s real easy.

  17. It's always seemed like this would be super easy for any decent lawyer to refute in court. A basic knowledge of statistics says its all total nonsense. Even calling it "science" bugs me. Some universities offer a degree in forensic science, I hope there's more to it than this bullet matching silliness.

  18. I've never been good at kick starting bikes. Push it slowly around until you feel a lot of resistance. That should be on the power stroke. Then kick it as hard as you can. I'd also definitely be in neutral. It can get away really fast. I also didn't know there was much single track up there. That would be nice to stay away from the ATVs and SxSs.

  19. I have a light on my home defense pistol but not on any carry gun. I do have night sights on all my carry guns. FN 509 tactical with Streamlight TLR 1, Vortex Venom red dot, raised night sights and 24 round magazine for home defense.

  22. I had great time on the Honda today. The single track trails at Windrock are great. I have a question. Is there a trick to kick starting this thing? The electric start works fine but it won't kick start. I tried it in both 1st gear and neutral. Clutch in.

  23. I never had any experience with low light pistol shooting until I did a nighttime match last year using a handheld light with my handgun. I found out that for me, stuff like reloading and clearing a stoppage is way slower and more complicated when my left hand is holding a separate flashlight. For general concealed carry I don't have a light mounted (for sake of concealability), but my bump in the night pistol at home absolutely has a mounted light.

  24. I have wondered about this for years. It never seemed like an actual science. Same with bite marks. I think they finally stopped allowing that after several people were falsely convicted because of junk bite mark "science". Thanks for sharing this news.

  26. I have one on my house gun. But I never carry it. I did buy a holster for it, but its more of a duty style and not very good for concealment.

  29. If you ever get to Knoxville, I would trade you 5,000 LRP’s for 5,000 SRP’s. Mine are white box Winchester made before the blue box. Would also trade for bricks (1,000) if that’s what you wish. Pm if interested. No shipping, too much hassle.

  35. Being a bit long in the tooth my carry before Glocks became fashionable was a 1911. I still carry it from time to time. Back then as now I was always known to be a quick witted, maybe a little obnoxious, outspoken sarcastic SOB. Spending 26 years in the military helped me perfect these traits. I was called a lot of names back in those days as you can imagine and gotta say I earned most of them. The missus on the other hand saw right thru all that almost immediately. Women are so perceptive. Anyway after the movie came out in 2008 most of my friends said "holy crap dude" that's you! While not exactly like Walt we could have been brothers.
