Good afternoon! New to the area as I've just been stationed here somewhat recently. Been meaning to thin the collection out as it's getting to be a pain to move. Been great meeting and talking with everyone here, this is a great site! SA 1911 9MM for sale - fun gun to shoot on the cheap. Pretty great condition and a nice looking gun. Comes with Crimson Trace grips (retails for ~$200+ based on a quick Google search). I think I have at least a few mags as well. I'm almost positive I have the original grips also. Haven't shot it in years so it has to go even though I like the gun a lot. Always kept coated in Ballistol. Fun fact - my little brother and I were shooting out in the NM desert and he hit a plate with it at ~400 yards. Disclaimer: It took us an hour and about 200 of my reloads a piece (and the gun was at a 15 degree angle) but he did it! So it's, uh...pretty much a sniper rifle. I was shooting a normal 1911 and it was at a 25 degree angle! Please be willing to meet in Collierville and be legally allowed to own a firearm. Thank you for looking! Priced firm and fair below what they go for on Gunbroker without the grips (actual bids!). Price: $6502 points

I have a lot of experience with air rifles. Have several Benjamin Marauder rifle and pistol to older Crosman rifles converted to pcp. My favorite and easiest being the Talon Airforce guns. It’s as simple as switching barrels going from .177 cal to .50 cal slug. I have a Talon SS and have .177 .20 and .22 barrels. I have 2 different tanks one for high power and another a micro SS tank meant for shooting 400+ times without a refill. https://www.airforceairguns.com/The-TalonSS-By-AirForce-Airguns-s/38.htm2 points

Due to Supreme Court ruling, it is my understanding that the AG issued an opinion that 18 yo would not be prosecuted for carrying a Handgun. There are several exceptions such as no DUIs, no treatment for drug/alcohol etc. There are multiple legal concerns regarding the use of firearms and that is one of the reasons I recommend the ECP course for anyone wanting to carry.1 point

Rabbits began breaching the bulwarks here at Teetering on the Brink, so I began the search for a non-lethal, albeit painfully discouraging weapon to use against them. The Daisy Red Ryder Adult 650 BB gun fit the bill. The special Elmer Fudd edition was requested but alas, inventories were Out of Stock. It's not your daddy's BB gun--or maybe even yours from days gone by--but it's still decently accurate and zips along at 350 fps. The old loading hole has moved to the side of the barrel, but has a slightly larger entry chute (BBs still spill everywhere). And, of course, there's a dad-gum safety. Eye protection was not included, therefore the Christmas Story warning still applies. I've already zapped two bad bunnies who were making the garden a smorgasbord and sent them hopping with a sore butt. The neighbors love the long-eared pests, so I've got to be vewy, vewy quiet.1 point

Just moving a couple out of the safe. I am selling this very nice Bergara B-14 Timber I took on a trade. I have shot it once and it shoots as designed. No issues with the rifle... Looks like 30-06 is becoming plentiful again so this one is up for sale. Super smooth action and very nice trigger pull weight and break. I am gonna grab me another suppressor so this is going toward the purchase. $950.00 OBO takes it. I am willing to do some partial trading however some cash to me would be great.1 point

As a collector of military surplus weapons I’ve had to fabricate certain tools. Example, French rifles that have nuts and bolts with holes in them instead of slots. A good tool to have is a Dremel. Also a good set of needle files. You can make custom tools from inexpensive screwdrivers.1 point

peejman is spot on imho. I currently have jalapenos and kosher dill pickles from 2019 on my shelves and they are still fine. While I've eaten home canned foods that were greater than 5 years old (still had a solid seal) the texture seems to deteriorate over time. And sources such as Balls Blue Book and the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning indicate nutrient value (i.e.vitamin content) also diminish over time. What is canned and the storage conditions play a role as well. I try and use up my home canned items, be it meat, canned fresh vegetables, or pressure canned older previously dried beans within 5 years. But they are stored in my climate controlled and light controlled basement pantry. One thing I do when I can, waterbath or pressure can, is to leave the jars on the counter overnight and then remove the rings and gently wash the jars with warm soap and water before dating and storing them. This is to remove any food particle matter at the sealed lid that might encourage bacterial growth and weaken the seal. That's the recommendation I've followed and it's served me well over the past 15+ years. YMMV I have some figs and chow chow that my MIL canned and she left the rings on, as she learned to do and early spoilage hasn't been an issue... ETA Drying or discoloration may occur on foods above the moisture level. As long as the seal is still solid this is primarily cosmetic... just looks bad, but it should still be OK to eat or cook with as it's sealed environment is sterile. Or just spoon it out and toss it1 point

LT Wright makes great knives. A2 steel is a classic tool steel that’s well understood. Something to note - unlike a lot of the modern super steels - you really need to be specific about maintenance on A2. But, treat it right and it won’t let you down.1 point

I purchased a coveted item on a resale that drew high interest. I responded within 13 mins, the only person who beat me was a very, very well established member that had the trade offer in hand just not exactly what the person was looking for. I really appreciated and respected the fact that the gentleman messaged me with a timeline and that it was mine. Invited me and mine into his home, and told me “if you wanted to sell this without XYZ, you could sell this for the same price”. He explained he turned down multiple higher offers. We’re talking multiple, much higher offers than I would pay at the time. Misses and I made a day out of it to pick it up. To this day it’s one of my favorites and when anyone comes over to shoot they all get a grin and feel the same. That was one of my earliest deals here and I really appreciated the gentleman agreement. I’ll always do the same moving forward. I’ve also been on the other end where I said “I’ll take it, pm sent” but couldn’t make it work with my work schedule to make it out until 5 days after and the person told me they were going to go with someone who was available then. They needed cash in hand. I completely understood. Always appreciated that deal mentioned above and I’ve had nothing but good things to say about the people I’ve met here. They haven’t all been exceptional but majority has and they’ve all been good people. Even had random people reach out to me offering something obscure that they didn’t need anymore for free and then turn down anything I offered to give them as trade. All that aside, if someone wasted my time on a meet or bails last minute I’d leave negative feedback to warn the next person. Overall super pleased with the TGO community. Glad I finally joined after years of stalking *(Left the people mentioned above anonymous, you know who you are).1 point

EDIT: 4 3/4" barrel is sold. 4" still available. Good morning everyone! New guy - just got stationed in the area and am selling a few guns as moving them is getting burdensome. Pair of Ruger Old Model Vaqueros with serials (non-consecutive) putting them at 1995 and 1999 date of manufacture. Color case hardening is beautiful and the guns shoot great. Smoothest actions I've felt on a Ruger single action. Barrels are 4" and 4 3/4" making them great for Cowboy action shooting. No trades as I am downsizing! Please be willing to meet in Collierville, have ID, and be legally allowed to own a firearm. Thanks for looking! $600 each or $1100 for both.1 point

That's the important bit right? I do wish they would drop all of the F-bombs they have on the site and their merch though. The grabbers already see us through a certain lens. I would prefer not to feed it when possible.1 point
