I have been a member for years. Thankfully they do better work in the courtroom than on their website.3 points

I wonder how long until the government issues a subpoena for all FPC member records, including those who have joined since the temporary injunction was issued.2 points

That's the important bit right? I do wish they would drop all of the F-bombs they have on the site and their merch though. The grabbers already see us through a certain lens. I would prefer not to feed it when possible.2 points

Well, despite the lack of account management section, they certainly aren't short on pages to donate money: https://secure.anedot.com/firearmspolicycoalition/fpc?amount=25&source_code=donate https://secure.anedot.com/firearmspolicycoalition/march2023_joingaw?sc=joingaw https://secure.anedot.com/firearmspolicycoalition/join_the_fpc_grassroots_army?sc=joinfpc https://secure.anedot.com/firearms-policy-foundation/quick_donate?sc=quick_donate Also, don't fall into the trap of signing up without paying (yes you can find that along your adventure). That only puts you on the email distro, despite the site saying you're a supporter. The support page seems to have some better details, it even has a renew link, which seems to be the same as the join link. https://www.firearmspolicy.org/support Note for anyone who may do work for FPC: Please, please, please go hire a UX person for a few months.2 points

I voted to legalize pot in Washington, thinking that doing so would remove the criminal element from the trade. It didn't work that way, though, as illegal pot became easier to get and less risky for the sellers. The legal pot is available EVERYWHERE. There are stores in every small town, so if a person wants to be legal they can go and get their dope there. But that dope is taxed, and the business have overhead that makes the legal stuff considerably more expensive than the illegal stuff. So the illegal stuff is still there, and arguably more popular than ever. You can safely carry black market dope without fear of arrest since it's indistinguishable from the legal stuff. The instances of driving under the influence increased significantly in Washington, too, after marijuana was legalized. If I had it to vote on again I would vote against legalization. That law of unintended consequences is a big one.2 points

It should not ever matter what the Senators think or feel- It should only ever matter what we as their constituents think or feel- We after all are the force that pays their way to be in Senate to begin with- But-That doesn't seem to be the case any longer-if it ever were-1 point

All 4 Memphis area Senators are on the Judiciary committee, with Gardenhire that is a 5 vote block what will keep anything restorative from passing out of the committee, giving cover to the rest of the Senate to say they never got a chance to vote on any 2nd Amendment issue. Uniparty at it's finest. Straight line Bill Lee to Randy McNally to continue to violate their oath of office.1 point

Their site is not easy to navigate. I can never find how to sign in or if it's even necessary. I can't for the life of me find that life membership link. Do you know how I can find it?1 point

18” LaRue .223 Wylde chamber (5.56/.223) billet AR. All LaRue parts except for grip (BCM, original available) CH (Radian Raptor) and castle nut (PWS ratcheting style). (I changed those parts out, rest was built by the LaRue crew.) Perfect base rifle for an SPR build. These are some of the most accurate AR-15s on the market. I’ve only put a couple of mags through her. I got REALLY into retro rifles and NVGs after getting her. So she’s never gotten a whole lot of use because of that. You’re gonna get a very clean, accurate and all but brand new rifle. $1500 located in Jackson.1 point

So once more history repeats itself. I remember in the late eighties when a local agency of LEO’s in my area accused the same of the still new Glock 17. (I’m going to be intentionally vague to a degree as I was present myself for elements of this). An officer had had an “accidental discharge” during a traffic stop with a young lady that he had pulled over on a lonely lakeside road nearby at night. This incident resulted in her receiving a fatal head-wound. The agency involved sued Glock and actually brought Gaston all the way over to testify to his design. (Super-win for me as I got to meet and spend time with one of my heroes). During the course of the trial we went so far as to make 3 drops into a parking garage from an over-looking 16 story building with a sample model loaded G17 for evidentiary purposes. Those were just the official attempts to create a discharge. There were PLENTY of other informal ones. The gun could not be made to accidentally fire despite efforts that got absurd by any standard. Gaston came out rightfully smelling like a rose and further cementing Glock’s patented safety system world wide, with history even citing our studies as further proof in design safety. It seems like it was about a year later that it came out that the young lady involved in the incident was an ex-girlfriend of the officer involved.1 point

With respect, you don't know what you're talking about. That elderly woman was severely injured, spent 8 days in the hospital, needed skin grafts, and never once asked for a dime more than she was owed for medicals and lost income for her daughter providing care. McD's offered $800. It was discovered McD's was intentionally keeping the coffee dangerously hot (180-190F) because their studies showed most customers drank it after they got to their office/wherever and they wanted it to still be hot then. The woman initially only wanted $20K to cover her hospital bills. She and her lawyer tried multiple times to get them to settle at reasonable amounts. They refused. The jury awarded her $160K in compensatory damages for her medicals, loss of quality of life, and her daughter's income who had been providing care. The jury then stacked $2.7M on as punitive damages. Her daughter said much of the money went to pay for medical bills and a full time live-in nurse until her death 10 years later and that she had very poor quality of life from both the injuries and the toll of the trial. I wouldn't recommend that as a get rich tactic.1 point

If you were a cop, and you knew that admitting to a negligent discharge would result in a suspension or loss of your job, wouldn't you blame that lousy gun and/or the administration that forced you to carry it?1 point

I have an Sig p 320 it stays loaded in a nightstand every night. For years it has never fired by itself. A lot of people like to blame a weapon for their inability to handle a gun correctly Sig had a voluntary recall for the drop problem. And newer models don’t have that issue I happen to be at a range where a person shot himself in the leg. he of course blamed the gun and range. Range had cameras when reviewing it was clear he had attempted to holster the weapon with his finger on the trigger1 point

@MacGyver is right. You need to be really meticulous and strictly follow pressure canning procedures with meat. But it's not really difficult. I'll try an add some pics below. I was given around 20 pounds of chicken gizzards and hearts earlier this year. These are great canned for Gizzards & Rice and worked really well in giblet gravy at Thanksgiving. There's a lot of fat to cut off a brisket. I just rendered the fat into beef tallow and put it up in jars. I did not pressure can the tallow. I keep one jar in the fridge and another jar out to cook with. I have canned Hot chicken wings before even. The bones even get tender. FWIW I have a glass top stove and it's rated Safe for canning both in the owners manual and the manufactures website.1 point

Meat is one of those things that you probably shouldn't put first on your canning list. You definitely need to have your canning safety squared away first. But, protein is a precious commodity. It's a good skill to have. I grew up with people who would pressure can chicken every time it went on sale. It's quite good in recipes - more or less perfectly braised, tender meat.1 point
