Guys I’m considering opening up one of my lower range areas to TGO. This would be a slow walked, cautious, ground level operation as I am just one man and taking on the prep work of the site (mowing, trimming, general clearing and parking arrangements) will take me time if I do this. Absolutely I will start with a case by case, appointment only basis that works for my schedule and availability. This is my private property, so I will always be in attendance & a safety waiver with common sense regulation would have to be a thing. I understand however that many of my friends here live in the city and have no place to really shoot when they want/what they want. I am 8 miles from Knoxville, Clinton, and Oak Ridge. If anyone wants to help me test out this idea, contribute to site prep if necessary, flesh out logistics- just pm me. Maybe we can help bring our little community together more. One small shoot at a time. Last thing, this is my short-range area, but we can see perhaps how this works out. No promises, but hope springs eternal. In Liberty, Stormborn6 points

I picked up my Model 81 in .35 Remington today from my FFL. I would have had it sooner, but I’m STILL waiting on a GB seller to ship my Marlin 1894 44mag. It’s been 3 weeks. But I digress. The Remington is in very good condition for an 86 year old rifle. Based on the serial number all over every part, it is from 1937. I believe it was sent back to Remington in October of 41 based on the E3K date code stamped on the barrel shroud. The barrel shroud has a nice brown patina. The receiver has much of its bluing remaining. It is not marked with a “B” or “C” but there is very nice hand checkering of the stock and forearm. It has a grip cap on the pistol grip which I was usually on the D grade or higher. I wonder if the rifle was sent back to Remington in 41 to get the upgrades to the wood. it has a period Marbles peep sight and folding rear sight. I took the receiver completely apart today to give it a really good cleaning. I need to get the proper tool to disassemble the barrel. It is a well-built rifle. I can’t wait to get it out to the farm to shoot. I cleaned up the furniture a bit with denatured alcohol. Like all my other rifles, I will come back with a hand rubbed linseed oil finish. Unfortunately, I could not find my small container of Winchester Stock Oil. I guess I need to buy more.5 points

While not breast cancer, I am also a two time survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (including high dose Chemo and a stem cell transplant). It can be a long tough road, but with prayer faith and family, you can get through this.4 points

I’ve made a few posts here and there on other threads so thought I’d post a picture of what I ended up with. I started with a Sig P-365XL Spectre (non-comp), the original one with the distressed finish. I bought some 15 round mags to fit and then some 17 rounders when they became available. I installed a Holosun EPS Carry with the adapter plate as they didn’t include the proper length screws. Got in my TacRig screws the other day, so just got through removing the adapter plate and reinstalling directly to the slide. Been lusting after a bigger grip module, so I picked up an Sig macro grip module from a member on here. I got some TacDev base pads to make my 15 round mags work with my macro setup, and a 17 round base pad that covers the whole end of the grip module. It looks and feels better than the stock Sig base pads that come on the mags. I ordered some base pads that convert my 12 round mags to work in the macro, and a ‘plus 2’ 17 round base pad that will convert a 17 round mag to a 19 round mag. Not sure what configuration I will actually EDC. I will have options of a 12 round in the gun (for maximum conceal ability) and either a 15/17/19 round reload, or I could do a 15/17/19 in the gun with 17/19 reload available. I like options, lol and I like lots of ammo ready to go. Aesthetically, the aluminum 17 round base pad I have and the plus 2 one I’ve got on order look very similar, both covering the whole of the grip. The plus 2 sticks out more. Here’s a picture of my new setup with the holosun eps carry and 17 round mag with the TacDev aluminum base pad installed.3 points

Hopefully we all realize that this day is set aside to remember and honor the ultimate sacrifice that has been paid by so very many on behalf of our country. I just heard this song recently. The band is Sabaton. They are a Swedish heavy metal band, very talented, and about all they sing about is history, especially historical battles. When I heard it the other day while driving I just about had to pull over. Let us never forget the sacrifice of not only those who have gone before us, but those who have gone for us. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Li_j5Y8PjJs&feature=share3 points

My daughter age 39 and a mother of four has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She's seen the docs (got a second opinion) and the oncologist and is being set up for treatment of her particular type of cancer. Without going into to much detail I am asking that for those of you that pray may include Sarah in your prayers. She' a good daughter, wife and mother and she can use all the help she can get. Thanks in advance to all of you that may take the time.2 points

This is a nice JM Marlin model 336 R.C. made in 1967 so no cross bolt safety. It is chambered in .30-30. The wood is in very good shape and the bluing is still strong. The bore is shiny, and the rifling looks sharp. It has had a sling stud added to the stock and there is one on the fore end band. It is missing the front sight hood. It currently has a Williams Peep sight attached. I am asking $800 $750 without the peep sight. If you want the peep sight, $850. $800 $750. I have decided to keep the peep sight for my 44Mag. I can post photos without the peep sight if wanted. Located in Nashville, for sale to folks 21 and older who can legally own a firearm. TN license or HCP flash. More photos upon request.2 points

I thought I would share a little win I had today. I went to a LGS here in Knoxville and looked through the discount orphan magazine bin. I found a S&W 1911 8rd for $9, and an original old stock Mini 14 40 rd for $20. I’ve been married 35 years- it’s the little things that keep me going.1 point

You tempt me! But I have to find the Smith's I need grips for first! LOL! Really. I have an old 6" 38 that was my Dad's. In a fit of stupidity...I took the original grips off to clean it up. Lost the grip screws. Put it all away and haven't seen it since. But in my defence...I am old and getting very strange.1 point

I'm confused. Like most politicians, he talks in circles. He seems to be opposing the bill, but then at the end, did he not say he was sponsoring it? Exactly what is he saying? BTW: Rose is my senator. I've voted for him and e-mailed him several times on 2A issues. He has always seemed very pro-gun to me.1 point

SOLD! Grizzly G0863 Dust Separate Cyclone for Woodshop or Workshop This unit is virtually brand new. I hooked it up once to confirm that it would work, but then went a totall different direction with a homebrew setup. Go figure. This cyclone sits between your dust collector and your power tools (table saw, miter saw, router table, jointer, band saw, etc.) and collects the vast majority of sawdust or other debris so that it doesn't damage the dust collector's impeller or clog the dust collector's filter and bag. It works REALLY well. These are also used by knifemakers and Kydex holster makers to save their dust collectors from abuse. You can learn more about this thing here: Grizzly Growler Cyclone Separator at Grizzly.com Terms of Sale Retail price is $395 plus shipping. Will sell to a TGO member for $250. Price is firm. PayPal or Cash Local pickup near Franklin and Spring Hill. More Photos1 point

That feeder is hanging on the back porch post and my daughter took it from about 6' away. She was sitting still/quiet in a chair and happened to have her camera out and ready. Here's the video: Attach54344_20230526_121435.mp41 point

Kano was a Bandog Mastiff ... a friend use to breed some serious dogs that were used in one of the hulk movies and on the old fear factor show with Joe Rogan. Curly from the fear factor show was also one of Joes dogs. I had a male and a female from litters sired by Kano and Curly. Kano is the dog on a chain towards the end of the video he was still a young dog when Joe filmed it. A multi generation (strategically) Mixed bred dog for the purpose of realistic protection against humans. https://youtu.be/vu9U4es91B4 Kano at the end of the video. https://youtu.be/HN6_7jSyxrE Curly older but still a serious dog. https://youtu.be/3jdULSNQHTc Fear Factor the second time they were on TV.1 point
