Her enzymes are below 1700 now. They were 3400ish. They should be 10-20, but they are much better. Liver inflammation has started to decline. Her kidneys are out of the danger zone and approaching normal. She started taking phosphorus supplements today, but other than that she's just getting her regular medications. Whatever made her immune system attacked her liver has apparently stopped and everything is trending back to normal. I'm not a religious person, though my Wife is...I really appreciate everyone's prayers. It means a lot. She was not expected to survive and we were told as much. My Wife is doing much better and feels like she can breathe however I'm probably going to be sleeping alone for at least a week. I get a bit unusual when I sleep after she has issues. It's always after though. Drinking always helped, but I have all but stopped that. Thank you everyone.6 points

As far as anyone can tell, it's Macrophage activation syndrome. There is one glaring detail that doesn't follow MAS. It stopped. It shouldn't have. This is what happened when her blood was attacked a few years back. It also just stopped. She will not be officially diagnosed, but it has 99.9% of all the other hallmarks. We took her and my two youngest boys for a walk at Yanali park this morning. I pushed her in a stroller that's big enough for a small 12 year old. It's been a good day.5 points

That's so good to hear. Prayers continuing your way. I'm a firm believer prayer can and does change things.4 points

Jesus wasn't a fan of religion either. Religion gets in the way of an actual relationship with him. Just something to think about. Really glad to hear that things are improving!3 points

That's sad, Hipower. Ive lost many friends to PTSD including my best friend of many years who took his own life a few years back. He was a member here. Me and 2 other friends had to go into his garage and clean brains and blood off of his car and the garage floor after the police left. I served 20 years in the USAF. 73-93. I d0ont expect to be thanked for my service, and it actually makes me a little uncomfortable when it happens as i never know how to respond. But I can tell you that I readily recognize the difference between someone who comes up to be with a sincere thanks for my service and the ones repeating what they think they should say ort are told by their employer to say. The day before yesterday, while I was eating at a restaurant, an older lady did so and i was moved as i could tell she was sincere.2 points

I respectfully disagree, and I am sorry for the pain and suffering that person endured, but that was caused by her. I can only speak for myself, I do have enough sense to NOT: -Have hot coffee in my crotch area in the car or where ever I might spill it. -Have my hand or fingers in front of my pistol when firing, and expect the manufacturer and range to pay for the medical. -Return my handgun to my IWB holster with my finger on the trigger and expect it not go go off. -Step in front of a moving train and expect them to stop. -Drive up to Chick-fil-Lay on Sunday expecting service -Expect to ride a roller coaster at Dollywood knowing the belt/retaining device will not go across my big belly -Apply as a waiter at Hooters -Expect equal playing time for my kids on a basketball squad when they can't make a goal -Urinate on a electric fence and expect the land owner to place signs warning me. -Buy into the political statement that is gaining traction everywhere that "gun" violence is a thing And on-and-on. As for me, and me alone, I will keep growing my common sense and not expect others to pay for my incompetence. -2 points

These have been sitting in the safe for several years doing nothing. I thought I'd throw them out here just to see what I could get. Bear in mind that I don't need to sell them, I've just lost interest in them. Cash prices are firm for now. Forgive the pictures. I just ain't much of a photographer. Buyers must be Tennessee residents, be legal to buy a handgun, show ID and fill out a BOS. Beretta 85FS Cheetah .380 acp Made in 2016. This gun is in excellent condition. I've only fired 50 rounds through it. Function was flawless. Comes with 3 magazines, cardboard box, plastic case and all paper work. $650 Taurus PT-25 DAO .25 acp Excellent condition. This gun is Double Action Only. Comes with 2 magazines, plastic case and manual. $200 Possible trades: I'm open to just about anything. No shotguns or plastic guns. Always looking for 1911s, S&W, Colt or other quality revolvers, .22 rifles or pistols, Also kinda fond of oddballs. Make me an offer!1 point

Hey TGOers, Yes I know you probably find this rifle ugly. With that out of the way, lol, putting my favorite budget rifle up on the chopping block. PSA 16" rifle, magpul furniture, vortex strike eagle LPVO 1-6×24, radian raptor CH, LaRue trigger (light spring), mlok rail with olight odin and tapeswitch. Includes 1 magpul mag, no ammo. Rattle can paint job (price lowered accordingly) has no effect on function. I've had this beast running 100% for over 2 years now (couple thousand rounds). Hits consistently at 200yds with very little work on my part. Asking $650, will not separate, ftf in Mid TN, DL or HCP flash required, higher feedback will have priority. Thanks, -V1 point

I've been known to tear up when attempting to say it. Especially with older vets. I totally lost it a few years back when I met a survivor of the Indianapolis. And when I bumped into a Medal of Honor Recieptiant accidently. I do mean accidently too. I was walking in a hallway from a bathroom when I almost tripped over this man. Turning to apologize, I saw his uniform and then that medal. I was tongue-tied for several seconds before I could speak.1 point

I have checked no less than a dozen times to see if it’s still in stock. I don’t need this…. But… If it weren’t for the warden, it would be en route to FFL. Picked up a little flak on my latest purchase in the form of an eye roll and “why do you need another one” which I hadn’t gotten before. Think she was a little ticked off I’ve been working so much. “Because I just think they’re neat babe, I think they're neat”. Gonna be a decent dinner this weekend. (Forgot to mention the case of 10mm I bought , hoping UPS is lazy as usual and drops it at the end of the drive).1 point

I'm sorry to say that's right. It hurts to see where we've gone. I can't believe we as a people can forget where we are and just how we got here. Of course today may not be as pleasant as days gone by, but we still need our vets!1 point

Reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt for sure, but you can get useful info like eye relief, battery life, etc. from them. I no longer have the patience to follow all the latest and greatest product announcements and do in-depth research. And Youtube is a wilderness of shills. Time-wasting shills, which is worse. What I do is determine my budget for a given use and then try to find feedback from real users on forums like ar15.com. Stick to known good brands like Burris, Leupold, Aimpoint, Trijicon. Holosun is getting a good reputation, and I am OK using even less expensive optics on range toys as long as they are from a reputable dealer who will take care of defective stuff no questions asked (like Primary Arms). Most of my LVPOs are Nikon (RIP), Burris, Vortex, and a couple Primary Arms. For fixed scopes I have several Burrs AR-332s and AR-536s. I really like the prism scopes. Rifle red dots: Vortex Strikefires, a few misc items like Holosun, SIG Romeo, etc for my range toys and Aimpoint and Eotech for my dedicated defense guns. For pistol RDSs, I have some Trijicon RMRs but honestly prefer the Holosun 507C for many reasons.1 point

I’m no intellectual giant by any measure, but somehow I’ve made it nearly 50 years with the knowledge coffee should be hot and have somehow refrained from pouring it on my crotch. I expect the same of other adults.1 point

That's easy. It's not fair, but it's easy. Vietnam was an unpopular war and the country as a whole wanted to forget about it. Most vets wanted to forget about Vietnam. Many returning home took off the uniform, never talked about their service, and very few had patches/caps/license plate frames indicating their service. It wasn't a point of pride for many. I don't know if it was because of the loss, the anti-war movement and press coverage, the fact that most were drafted not volunteers, or more likely a combination of all those things. Either way, almost nobody wanted to think about or be reminded of Vietnam. We saw a little easing of that in the 1980s with the Vietnam Memorial in D.C. and some movies like Rambo and Uncommon Valor where we were reminded of the MIAs, but it got left behind. After that we had the 80s and 90s where it was mostly peace time. During peace time military service is often seen as just another job or VoTech school. Even recruiting drives were often focused on how the military can help you get the skills for a civilian career. The conflicts we did have (Grenada, Panama, Bosnia, Desert Shield/Storm) were over so quickly and the kill:loss ratio was so comically lopsided that it hardly seemed like our military members faced much risk at all. They did, but it wasn't painted that way in the media, so most folks kept thinking of it as just a different career path instead of the noble service it is. Military service was mostly out of sight out of mind unless you lived near a large installation, then it was often one day a year where the community might hold a fair or the base might have an open house and it was basically "thanks for being a part of the community". Post-9/11 the environment is totally different. We don't want to forget 9/11. We saw the results of being attacked and we've watched the sacrifices endured by our military. And we're thankful.1 point

I think all of us do things we regret later. I do regret selling my GMC too. Even though I am not pulling a boat any longer that the 4.3 throttle body injected motor got 28 mpg dragging the boat with the a/c on and 33 MPG with the a/c on . Best I can get with the Cherokee 4.3 with a/c on is 19. It is 14 mpg dragging the boat with a/c on in the Jeep.1 point

As a former police officer, I NEVER worried about losing my job, or even a suspension - from having a negligent discharge. Y'all seem to think that cops are highly trained with weapons. That is far from the truth. Most cops ONLY shoot during qualifications. Does that standard suck? Yes, but it's a reality.1 point

If it's genuine then I have no problem with it. From many I get the impression that it's just lip service. Why was no one thanking me for my service in the 80's? Because it didn't become a "thing" until the 2000's.1 point

I asked a LEO I know. He wasn't sure, but pointed out that people hunt turkey and deer in the dark hours of the morning... So if you're in the county, on private property, perhaps it IS ok to pop off a shot? Personally, it sketches me out.1 point

I got an email and a text from Chase Saturday morning that they had declined a charge for .76 in England for Twinning Tea. It asked if i made that charge and when I said no, they canceled my card and are send me a new one. It also said to check my account for other fraud charges and when I did there was one for 126 bucks from walmart.com. I called them to dispute it and they said they would remove it. Hate having to get a new card. I check my bank daily for fraud and guess I will need to start checking my credit card as well. I usually inly check it when I make a chare or pAY IT OFF.1 point
