Well we do have an injunction on the pistol brace rule. So far only for the named plaintiffs. Hopefully more to come.3 points

He is talking about the integral safety in a Glock's trigger shoe. Other manufacturers use different approaches. S&W uses a hinged trigger design that accomplishes the same thing in the M&P. He's still FOS.3 points

I think that’s about the most accurate statement I’ve read in a while. Hate to hear that about the Tundras. I hope the Tacomas are still good but I guess it’s kind of a moot point with me since I can’t afford to buy anything in the first place.2 points

I think you have to be a lawyer to come up with a term like that.2 points

The company my son-in-law buys him a new company every 4 years and they just pass his old one down to one of the foremen to drive. In 2019 His boss told him to go find a truck for him. He was driving a Ford Diesel and it had 304,000 miles on it when he passed it down and it is still running every day. This Time Tommy picked out a 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4 basic truck. He added a front wench cause he gets stuck on some construction sites and he put a Tommy lift gate on the back cause sometimes he needs to haul a piece of equipment to a new job site. The truck has 354,000 miles on it and except for routine maintenance the only repair was a starter. It has a cracked in the windshield now and Tommy's boss asked him if he was ready to trade and Tommy said that he is going to keep the Chevy and just have it rebuilt from bumper to bumper. The dealership he bought it from new will be doing the rebuild. They gave him an estimate and it was a lot less than a new truck plus he could not find another truck he liked. The dealer will be replacing the Engine and Transmission with new a Target motor and Transmission and they will be rebuilding the complete suspension and putting new brakes all around. The man that runs the repair center gave him the total cost for the rebuild is $17.400.00. It will take 15 days to complete it and Tommy will drive another company truck till his is ready. Except for the paint, Tommy will have a virtual new truck. The dealer is also going to put 4 new Michelin Tires on at no cost.2 points

I'm sure that the FOP lawyers coach them on what to say in these cases, and it's always "the gun".2 points

Understood. Just saying I guess that there is no 'best" anymore. Even with used vehicles it's a crap shoot anymore.2 points

I have a brand new Tundra and personally don't get it. Considering going back to a RAM. Drives better, rides better, better fit/finish, 3 recalls already on my new "the best" truck . Toyota isn't what it once was.2 points

Two points about this shooting event. The homeowner talked too much. When he said "he closed his eyes and fired" he was guilty of reckless endangerment. He talked too much. Memphis is a predatory urban jungle city. The DA is anti-gun, anti-self defense, is so soft on crime he should be called Charmin, and a typical George Soros-bought prosecutor. The prosecutor plays to his voters, not to the law.2 points

Used to hear the same thing about Glocks when they first came out . . . issue ended up not being the gun but "operator headspace"2 points

These people are full of #### and the cops are blaming the gun rather than their own incompetence. Hard stop. Do you know who Bruce Gray is? Bruce is a master gunsmith and owner of Gray Guns. They have a very heavy focus on Sig Sauer firearms at Gray Guns and he knows a thing or two about the P320 and about how to test things. He recently did an exhaustive test on the P320 to see if it could fire out of battery. It cannot. P320 out-of-battery testing - Grayguns This video also addresses the recent ridiculous claims.2 points

It’s great that you want share that info for other Taurus owners but they’re not going to see in in a thread about Henry .45-70’s…in the longs guns department. Go ahead and start a new thread in handguns. It’s real easy.1 point

Marlin m99 a1 22lr. This is made to look like an m1 carbine. These are getting hard to find. It is in pretty decent shape for its age. It does have some dings in the wood. Asking 425.00 or trade on other guns. I can add cash or a ruger lcp 380 with laser for the right trade. Located in Lancing TN but will be in West Knoxville tomorrow (Wednesday)1 point

These are the same people I have used for a few years now- Very reasonable for the amount of coverage- Haven't had to use the insurance so I have no first-hand knowledge of claim ease-1 point

The articles says, "Zimmerman [an attorney] said the P320 is “unique” in that SIG Sauer is the only manufacturer making this type of gun without an external manual safety. That device, known as a tab trigger, needs to be depressed “intentionally” to make sure the gun can fire. Without that tab being depressed, the gun can’t fire." Sig isn't the only company that makes a pistol without an external manual safety. Are they confusing a grip safety with a thumb safety and calling it a "tab trigger?"1 point

If you were a cop, and you knew that admitting to a negligent discharge would result in a suspension or loss of your job, wouldn't you blame that lousy gun and/or the administration that forced you to carry it?1 point

I liked those old Fords too, but the cold hard truth is the new ones have twice the power, burn half the fuel, and are infinitely less maintenance intensive.1 point

i know of several self defense shootings where the person claiming self defense didn't get arrested at the scene. Now admittedly some were arrested later on after the investigation. I know of a guy personally that shot a guy and never was arrested, and it wasn't even a very good shoot. with the circumstances involved I was actually worried he might get charged but he never was. He pulls into his driveway with his grandkids in the car and this guy approaches him off the street. The guy said something angrily in Spanish as he approached the car, and he just got out of the car and shot him. He is a older fellow, and the bad guy was pretty built, and the DA said that because he was apt to be overpowered by the bad guy and he was protecting his grandkids in the car it was justified. Also, right or wrong the bad guy was an illegal and had no family pushing for charges or to file a civil suit. As for the incident in question, I hate the guy was arrested but he also shouldn't be firing a weapon if he can't keep his eyes open while doing so. If he had shot a family across the street he would have a lot more charges and there would be innocent people dead. This is what worries me about a lot of well meaning people armed, they don't have the training to actually handle the firearm when called to do so. Looks like they only thing that saved him was the robbers were as bad of a shot as he was.1 point

But, for this thread, I think I'd probably got with an F-150. Just the fact that they make sooo many of them - you ought to be able to find one on the secondary market that meets your requirements.1 point

While I'm certain this will be controversial for whatever reason - I'm excited to see the '24 Tacomas with a hybrid power plant. Same towing capacity with better torque. Increases the fuel economy by a bunch - which as stated above gets it more towards what a reasonable, modern half ton should get. Nice to see a full 2.4KW inverter on board, too. FWIW, I think the reliability and longevity of Toyota's has been at the expense of worse fuel economy.1 point

Could have been at one time. I once an 01 Chevy. My son now has an 06 GMC. Except for the headlights, grille, and a few other cosmetic features, they are the same truck. Same suspension, same engine, same transmission, same interior, etc. One said Chevrolet on the tailgate, one says GMC.1 point

Not sure what the definition of gun collector means, 1,5,15, 30 how many? My toolbox is full of screw drivers/ wrench's/etc, guess I'm a tool collector....lol I have FB insurance, I think they offered me 2k coverage under the standard policy, I'm like WTF will that do for me since I have a 1k deductible, that was their way of saying not interested.1 point

Same. I have a Valuable Personal Property policy with my homeowner's carrier (USAA) that lists my guns, but yeah . . . it gets expensive. I compared it to Lockton Affinity (NRA-affiliated in some way) and the same coverage worked out to about $100 cheaper per year with them. Not chump change, but not enough savings for me to be worth the hassle of dealing with another insurance company. YMMV. Plus I don't know how they'd be to deal with a claim, and I know USAA is awesome.1 point

Deputies said that he also admitted to closing his eyes while he shot because he was scared and shooting as the suspects ran back to their car. I guess the side that says to repeat “I was in fear for my life against armed assailants, lawyer”, “lawyer”, “lawyer”or some form of that wins this round. No opinion either way but the fact that he admitted to police to having his eyes closed jumped off the page.1 point

As far as going armed during the day. If I go out side for any reason including to just sit on my deck and watch H Birds I am armed. Anytime I am in the house I am no further that a few feet away for a weapon. I even got my Marlin 60 /w optics and went out back and went through a full tube of ammo to make sure the scope was still on. I hit 10 out 10 poker chips at 30 yards. I reloaded it and came back in the house and put it on the Rifle Rack. I know a lot of folks snub their nose at a 22lr but I have total confidence in 22lr's.1 point

If you listen the recording, the armed security is being told to stay in the background and not be noticeable. They want the guns watching their backs, but don't want anyone seeing their hypocrisy. And yes, Brian Wilson did point out that being armed on the capital grounds is illegal. I really don't understand how "bird dogging" (harassing) legislators and causing "mayhem" is going to do them any good. That would just piss me off. There's just no way to understand how the mind of a liberal works.1 point

European Starlings are a non-native destructive species according to TWRA and can be killed if found to be causing damage and you're the landowner. ... https://www.tn.gov/twra/law-enforcement/wildlife-damage-control.html Being annoying doesn't classify as damage and the OP isn't the landowner. And it'll likely piss off the neighbors.1 point

I'm sure someone can, but I do remember when they passed the bill to allow it, there was a provision that no new signage was required to be posted, due to monetary issues in that. But yes, that sure left things very murky for gun owners, the public, and heck, even many LEOs don't keep up with our arcane and convoluted gun laws. Juat scrap the laws that make it a crime to be constitutionally armed. that'd fix a LOT of issues.1 point

I agree with this statement. Hearing it always feels weird, and I don’t need to be thanked for volunteering. As you know, when we signed on that line, we took an oath to put everything on the line In defense of our country. In return, the government guaranteed us that we and our families would be taken care of if we were injured or killed. Our government already wants to keeps citizens poor and mostly ignorant to continue to fill the ranks of the military on a volunteer basis, as well as working low wage jobs. The government would eventually have to return to the draft to fill its ranks if they also develop a reputation worst than they already have if youngsters see that the government actually taking care of veterans is a myth. This is my not in my backyard moment. I know the government needs to make cuts, but I’d suggest looking at all of the foreign aid we dish out first. That’s another issue for me, because I know in many cases foreign aid is strategically necessary to our national security. Oh well, as usual, I don’t have the answers. It’s just concerning for me when I think about all of the injured young warriors who probably won’t get the benefits they’ve earned.1 point

#5 on the list only happens when the shooting was deemed not to be self defense. TN Law now prevents civil action. One of our own was instrumental in this legislation1 point
