  1. Super gorgeous, super rare 1951 Browning hi power with TANGENT SIGHTS AND THE SLOT FOR THE RIFLE ADAPTER. You don't find many of these laying around in this condition. $2300.00

  2. The Rose- breasted Grosbeak is making its swing through Tennessee on migration. Some springs I see them, some not, but there have been an abundance on my feeder this year. Any sightings out there?

  3. As someone who’s read a bunch of manifestos over the years professionally, I can say what I’m about to say with absolute certainty. Whatever it is that anyone is hoping to find in the shooter’s writings - you're going to be disappointed. You’re not going to understand it - because there’s nothing to be logically understood. You’re not going to find a reason - because the reason was this person was terribly broken in a way that we don’t - and can’t understand. The manifesto is a red herring - allowing politicians to distract people by calling for their release. There are a lot of reasons not to release it. One, like @Snaveba mentioned above - they contain a lot of truly graphic stuff that serves no public good by its release - and may take the trauma victims have suffered and make it worse. Look at what Sandy Hook parents have had to deal with for the last decade, and you’ll understand why they don’t want it released. But second, and more importantly we don’t release manifestos because there are broken people out there who that stuff *does* inspire.

  4. It is my opinion that one reason the PD is now reluctant is because they have been asked to release everything. This means everything. If they release the EVERYTHING they release Information about how children were shot, personal information about the children, body cam footage of the children. I know I would not want that information out about a child I lost. also, there is I am sure lots of extraneous body cam footage not pertinent to the issues at hand. IMO, asking for the release of everything is just voyeuristic. The Nashville PD is not “hiding” things.

  6. A couple of more recommendations now that I'm not on mobile. 1. Floodlines by The Atlantic. This is an in depth examination of everything that went wrong in Hurricane Katrina. The whole series is worth it - but there are two episodes that really stand out. First, the episode with Lieutenant General Russell Honorè is outstanding. Second, the last episode where they interview the FEMA Director at the time - the infamous Michael ("Brownie") Brown is worth a listen. 2. In Plain Sight: Lady Bird Johnson. If you're a history buff - or even if you're not - I cannot recommend this podcast enough. The premise - a journalist was doing research in the Johnson Presidential Library and came across 123 hours of recorded audio diaries made by Lady Bird Johnson that no one had ever really documented. She was her husband's closest confidant - and it is a first hand look straight into the White House. While there is some light narration to tie everything together - this podcast is more or less Lady Bird Johnson in her own words. It goes from LBJ's time in the Senate, to Dealey Plaza, to the White House, to their ranch in Texas, and covers everything from the war in Vietnam to the assassinations of the '60's. It's really an amazing first hand look. 3. The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill by Christianity Today - covers as the title states the meteoric rise of the Mars Hill Church and celebrity pastor Mark Driscoll. If you're a Christian in America today - you've been influenced whether you realize it or not by celebrity pastors and the mega church movement. If you’ve been a part of an Acts 29 network church, or if you just wonder, “how did we get here?” this podcast is for you This podcast looks at the good and bad of the movement and church and the people who built and enabled it. It's really a testament to what happens when we put a person between us and Jesus. That's probably 30 hours of listening - even though the first two are quite bingeable - so @-boatman- take note Let me know what you think.

  7. They are a beautiful bird and I had a few earlier in April but none recently. The Hummers have discovered my feeders and the last few days I have seen 7 on feeders at the same time. Then a lot of fussing and fighting all at once....LOL

  8. On the contrary, it would be true even if @RED333 didn't repeat it. Sexually mutilating children and flaunting sexual deviance in front of small children should be so obviously wrong that it doesn't require a law, but some people are so sick that laws have to exist to stop them.

  11. I wanted a lever gun for years. Looked at the Henry's every time I went to the gun store. When the gun shop put the display case in their store they were 550.00 a few years back. I fooled around until they rose to 750.00 and finally, about 8 years back, purchased a Henry Big Boy in 38/357. It was hard to spend that much Lollie on it, but they aren't gettin no cheaper, are they? I purchased the brass one and have really enjoyed that thing for years now. My youngest made me promise she could have it when I am through with it. Holly and her family love the gun. She told me it was her favorite rifle. Guys just something about cranking that lever! My rifle is more accurate than I am. Holly can bang center target at 50 yards constantly with that rifle. I told her she could have it, but just not yet. Just purchased a new SW 686, 7 shot 3" revolver to stand along with the rifle. Good combination IMO. Both in 38/357. I am a 357 fan.

  13. UPDATE: Sig has sold! Up for sale are 2 1 firearms that stayed in the safe most of the time and since they haven't been getting love I could use some funds for other projects. Both the Sig and the Springfield are in excellent condition, with only the most minor of wear on either. Both have been flawless the few times I've shot them. Both are two-toned and IMO are head-turners. The Sig comes with the original case and 2 magazines. Asking $800. The Springfield comes with 2 magazines and an awesome Tier 1 Concealed holster as seen in photos. Asking $400 for all. Want more photos? Here ye go! https://imgur.com/a/twr51IZ

  17. Taking the wife's Sorrento in for an oil change and the make it less easy to steal recall. Passenger rear tire valve stem needs to be replaced to air up the tire a wee bit and clear the low pressure code from the TPMS. The o ring is no longer seated, but not losing air. I really hope they tell me it needs a $7 valve stem plus labor vs. new TPMS unit. Will let y'all know...

Got enough feed to last till next week then it will be over till fall. Have 2 male hummingbirds for now.

  26. Everything stated here is right on target. As a therapist I have had to read and clinically process manifestos and various writings of persons before and after their death. You never get a well written, well documented "reason" for what the person did. 99.9% is illogical because it is wrapped in the reality of the writer, which only they understand. As to releasing this information, it has two results. It makes a lot of hurting people who are already asking "Why?" hurt even more because there is no comprehensible answer. Second, emotional healing is like a cut; over time an emotional "scab" forms over the heart and soul. When a great deal of ambiguous information is released it tears the "scab" from people who are suffering in unimaginable ways, and they have to start the healing process all over again . . .

  27. I have had the same comments. This past winter I spent a TON on wild bird food, but the joy it brought me has no price on it. I work from home doing teletherapy three days a week and am in the office two. My office is at the back of the house with two large windows that face the back yard and my feeders. To watch the doves cluster, the Blue Jays come and go, and Cardinals and Wrens pass by brings a lot of joy while I am talking with folks. The Bluebirds have returned to my Bluebird box and they are fascinating to watch coming and going.

  29. Some of my friends and family say that I spend entirely to much money on wild bird foods. I went through 100 lbs of seed feed for my seed eating winter birds that I put 5 feeders up for each year and my deck has a breakfast nook with a table and I put seed on the table for the Doves because they can't or won't use the feeders. I have counted 16 Doves at one time on the nook. The Cardinals and Blue Jays use the nook also when the Doves are gone. So between the seed I buy and the Sugar I buy for the Hummers last year I spent about $250.00-300.00 but it is well worth it with the enjoy I get watching them.

  30. Don't worry about how much they cost or where you got them.. As long as they have Nectar or Sugar Water in them the birds won't care about the feeder price.....lol

  35. I never expected to get the whole story given who the shooter was. I have not be disappointed. I'm so use to a double standard at this point there should be a tiny window in one corner of the screen for the nightly news . That way they can have a translator showing what it means for white males lol.

For the love of God , please don't show up at a school with a gun and say that you are there to help the police find the gunman ! I'm just throwing this out there in case some people are in doubt about what to do.

  41. Not mine, but thought it was a good post. Scene fades in at gun store.... Woman: I never thought I’d need to buy a gun, but after my ex started threatening me and the kids…I’ve got to be able to protect us. Clerk: I understand, just fill out this form and I’ll run your background check and get you signed up for our training class. Woman: Thank you, here you go. Clerk: Ma’am, did you mean to check yes next to this medication? Woman: Yeah, its just to help with anxiety after these threats started. Clerk: I’m sorry, but under the new Red Flag Law you can’t buy a gun if you take these medications. Woman:(Panicking) But he said he is going to kill us…what do I do? Clerk: I’m sorry, I wish I could help… Narrator: Red Flag laws have serious consequences, call your legislators today and tell them not to take our Rights…

  42. A SSGT I served with at Ft. Hood told a story of one night when he was in Viet Nam, he got drunk, climbed into a quad 50 and started cutting up the jungle just for fun. The next morning the patrol going out found a bunch of dead VC in that brush. He had stopped an attack and didn't even know it.

  43. I've gotten some of mine in. I'm out of town right now, but placed several seeds in wet paper towels and put them in a box by a window before I left. Will check them when I get back and start planting what is ready. I'm only showing a low of 41 in Lebanon tomorrow night. Hopefully my tomatoes will be okay.

  45. My boys and I are in the process of fixing this up. My wife's granddad bought it new. It's been sitting in his garage for several years. Problem #1 was no brake lights. Took me 3 weeks to find a loose connector under the dash. Next is non-functional power windows and a miss at idle. I'd love to put an LS in it, but that's way down the road. The 4.3/700R4 should run nearly forever. It's got 98k on it now.
