Not mine, but thought it was a good post. Scene fades in at gun store.... Woman: I never thought I’d need to buy a gun, but after my ex started threatening me and the kids…I’ve got to be able to protect us. Clerk: I understand, just fill out this form and I’ll run your background check and get you signed up for our training class. Woman: Thank you, here you go. Clerk: Ma’am, did you mean to check yes next to this medication? Woman: Yeah, its just to help with anxiety after these threats started. Clerk: I’m sorry, but under the new Red Flag Law you can’t buy a gun if you take these medications. Woman:(Panicking) But he said he is going to kill us…what do I do? Clerk: I’m sorry, I wish I could help… Narrator: Red Flag laws have serious consequences, call your legislators today and tell them not to take our Rights…3 points

I probably wouldn’t even own an AR were it not for .gov officials saying I shouldn’t have one. Because of that, I have quite a pile of em. I’ve always been wired that way. The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it.3 points

This Zastava Mauser was manufactured in Yugoslavia in the early 50s. It was acquired from Cherry’s Fine Guns in Greensboro NC and has been in climate controlled storage for 15 years. Comes with matching bayonet and scabbard, sling, case, 195 rounds of standard 8mm ammo in stripper clips, ammo can, and 9 rounds of red and green tracer 8mm ammo. If you have questions or would like additional photos, please ask. I’d consider partial trades for a Springfield XD series, M&P 9, or similar CC-suitable 9mm sidearm. I’m in Nashville but travel to Knoxville and parts east from time to time.2 points

I recently read all the way through this thread when some new posts popped up. Until then I had never listened to a pod cast. Well, after reading this I listened to "In The Dark season 2", for four days. Couldn't stop. I either had blue tooth ear buds or a speaker with me all the time I was outside doing things. It consumed me. I haven't listened to another one yet. I don't want to get drawn into another one right now.2 points

Yep, me too. I hated the M-16 when I was in the Army and really haven't changed my mind since. But I do have two ARs just because they don't want me to. But i wouldn't worry too much about a ban. I'm sure Washington State's ban will be overturned by the courts. And on the off chance that a nation wide federal ban passes, who's gonna enforce it? Very few cops are going to be willing to walk into that disaster. It'll likely start the 2nd American Revolution.2 points

FWIW, I don't know what's driving the current outrage - but Brazil has had stringent gun control for at least the last couple of decades. All guns have to be registered. Minimum age to purchase is 25. There are fees for registration (part of Bolsonaro's executive order reduced that fee some) and there is a limit on the amount of ammunition you could buy - something like 50 rounds/year. I think Bolsonaro's order lifted that somewhat too. Brazilians basically have no codified rights to self defense. Just zooming out on the timeline some.2 points

Let me recommend to you the current season of Embedded, titled Taking Cover: https://www.npr.org/podcasts/510311/embedded I know some of y'all might be dismissive of it because it's produced by NPR. I really encourage you to look past that and give it a listen. It's produced by Embedded reporters - who as the name suggests - have reported from various war zones for the entirety of the last 20 years. Tom Bowman, one of the co-hosts of this podcast was in a convoy that was attacked in Helmand Province in 2016 when photographer Dave Gilkey was killed. At its core, this story is about doing right by the memories of two Marines and their Iraqi interpreter who were killed in what would come to be known as the First Battle of Fallujah on April 12, 2004. There is a definite twist in the plot line of the podcast - and when you hear it it puts a lot of stuff into perspective. It's an ugly story. It's hard to listen to. But, at the end of the day, all the twists fade into the background. It's a deeply reported podcast about bringing truth to the families of the 2/1 Marines out of Pendleton who died that day. Note to add, this podcast probably wasn’t good for my PTSD. I found myself so angry at times and in tears moments later. The last 22 and a half years have been really tough. Be kind to yourself - and listen insofar as you feel it’s healthy.2 points

I didn't want to start a new thread and what I have to say is related to the same subject as this thread. And here goes ........ For the love of God , please don't show up at a school with a gun and say that you are there to help the police find the gunman ! I'm just throwing this out there in case some people are in doubt about what to do.1 point

I can hear that theme music in my head as I type this. I’m glad you got to enjoy it in its resolved form - even if it took 4 days It was brutal when it first came out waiting a week until the next episode. We all grew up that way - how quickly things have changed. They’re working on a third season as we speak. The team got laid off by Minnesota Public Radio a while back - but someone brought the whole team over - maybe the New Yorker? I imagine that was the most significant work any of them will do in their careers - but I’ll sure be glad to see new episodes.1 point

They banned the sale of new guns Nobody was stupid enough to try to confiscate those already out there. And there are millions of these rifles already in circulation. Always remember, its was the British attempt to confiscate the colonist's firearms that started the American Revolution. It could happen again.1 point

Yea I did, I like the CR920 but may not keep it around long. Been noticing that fancy gear doesn’t make the shooter any better. Lol.1 point

I worked around the house trimming some trees the wife wanted done on Tuesday and Wednesday, and was breezy here. Never broke a sweat which was nice but the pollen sucks. No complaints tho. I went fishing today since the wind dropped off and was a beeuttfull day to be on the water with no numnuts in sight. Had the honey hole all to myself but it didn't produce today. Still a good day.1 point

I don't think those are Starline. Those are flowers, not stars. My guess is that those marks are to easily and quickly identify blanks without having to unload. Of course I could be wrong. Its happened before.1 point

About 10 or 15 years ago I told my doc I was trying to quit smoking and asked him about some latest/greatest stop-smoking pill. He asked me to try a more established drug, I filled the Rx and when I got home my wife asked why my GP doc had subscribed me Wellbutrin which is actually an anti-depressant. If this law were in effect, asking my doc for help to stopping smoking might inadvertently cost me my 2A rights. This law is nucking futs.1 point
