My youngest (12) was a smart arse to mom yesterday, so she banned him from screens today. When I got home from work, he was quick to trumpet all the useful things he'd accomplished with his time. Seemed like there was a bit of recognition here. Small victories.2 points

The last few springs I've been trying to lessen my use of Roundup for general weed killing. I have found a really good mixture that killed weeds better than anything last year. Thought I'd share if anyone is interested: 1 cup of salt 1 tablespoon Dawn dishwashing liquid 1 gallon of white vinegar Put all into a gallon sprayer and mix it up. A gallon took care of my needs all last summer. The stronger the vinegar you use the better it kills weeds. I ordered 30% vinegar from Amazon: Harris 30% Vinegar, Extra Strength with Easy Fill Funnel Included (Gallon (1-Pack)) - $24.991 point

Great gun, has had about 100 rounds through it hiccup free. But that isn't the whole story. When I first got it, it had some extractor tension issues, easy enough to fix, but I sent it back to Kimber. They certainly made it right, and while it was there the gunsmith totally went through the gun and polished up all the internals and feed ramp, and tuned the trigger, now it runs like a top. Comes with 2 mags. This is one of their limited editions in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, hence the logo on the grips. Has a ramped barrel and a heavier recoil spring, it handles hot loads and mild loads all the same. Great gun, its just a little too pretty for me to bang around. Also comes with a set of grey Hogue Piranha G10 grips (I couldn't bear the thought of damaging the REMF grips).1 point

Earlier Winchester SX models (SX, SX2, SX3) are pretty affordable these days. And the good old Browning Automatic 5 is still a clay-killing machine. Cheers Whisper1 point

There are probably head stamp dates on the ammo but I'd have to unseal and open the boxes. I've not found a way to cross reference the lot numbers so the dates are unknown as of now.1 point

Young me probably would take you up on that. Current me knows that I wouldn't have the time nor the patience. My kids didn't even play a lot of monopoly because.... who has that kind of time????1 point

Now that the brace is off my broken wrist I can get back to leather work and gun work. The grip that came on my 629 did not fit my hand at all, and I HATE finger grooves. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at pistol grips, so today I jumped in. First set of grips I’ve ever tried. Shortened it by about 1/8” or so, removed the cursed finger grooves, cut down the sharp ledges toward the top of the grip on the sides, and sanded off the slick urethane finish. Added two coats of linseed oil. Might add some dark stain later. Feels really good in the hand, and now the 629 feels secure in my hand as well. Still knocks the ever-lovin-piss out of ya though. Nothing like shooting the good ole BFR. I think I’ve built up the courage now to try making a set of grips for the BFR. Got some black walnut and some osage orange coming. Might do both.1 point

Turned in my 2 week resignation notice to my employer here in Vegas. We will be heading out for Rogersville, TN the last week of May. Looking forward to getting back to Tennessee! If you order weapon parts online and it has a sticker in it please check the back of it. I have started writing "Thank you" on the back of the sticker in red to addresses in Tennessee just to see if anyone on here gets one that I shipped out from Vegas. I have shipped a lot to Tennessee but just started to do this after I gave notice. If you get one. Let me know!1 point

My son became interested in shooting clays. So as a starter shotgun, I got him a CZ 1012. Swings excellent and runs like a sewing machine.1 point

RFK Jr isn't the only one worried about what could come from the system: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who tweeted Wednesday that a Fed-issued currency would “allow the government to surveil all our private financial affairs … enforce dollar limits on our transactions restricting where you can send money … [and] freeze your assets or limit your spending to approved vendors if you fail to comply with arbitrary diktats, i.e. vaccine mandates.”1 point

The Scene. Seriously? They are as left as you can get. Ok maybe they fairly report on music or good places to eat. NPR is also left leaning. And ole Plil almost always has an agenda, just look at his recent hit piece on guns for example.1 point
