Here I have a 1954 Russian SKS. The gun has all matching parts *EXCEPT* the dust cover and magazine. The magazine works perfectly, never once jammed or miss fed on me. This mag was made in the 90s and from what I read those mags work much better than the newer ones (promag, etc.). The rifle also comes with the original strap, bayonet, and internally stored cleaning kit. With the rifle I am including 800 rds of its 7.62x39 ammo. As seen in the pictures, 500 rds are in the crate and 300 rds are in the boxes. The ammo is the all steel Tulammo. I am now selling everything together for $800. I can meet anywhere in the Cleveland/Chattanooga area. PM me for any questions. Thanks for viewing.2 points

I’m a big believer in STEM. This video with the exception of the historically inaccurate photo of the 150yo classroom, sums up my feelings about the American educational system. We need all skills of labor for the economy to function, but we really need more STEM educated innovators if we truly want to prepare our children for the future instead of the warehouse. This is not the fault of teachers who are overworked and underpaid. It’s the fault of corporations and corrupt government! https://www.facebook.com/792855756/posts/pfbid0iVuvX3XkziJAY2sqig4CnfaLcb2RwNa4TXKRcfsx7LdnFGQENpiRmESxB8qCWnxAl/2 points

Decision to fire Carlson came directly from Rupert Murdoch. Apparently ad revenue from My Pillow, sexual harassment and racism aren’t enough to cover 3/4 of a billion dollars settlements with more on the horizon. Check out this article from Commercial Appeal: Tucker Carlson leaves Fox News in wake of Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/04/24/tucker-carlson-fox-news-departure/11728157002/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2023/04/24/tucker-carlson-leaves-fox-news/ https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/24/tucker-carlson-leaves-fox-news-in-wake-of-dominion-defamation-settlement.html2 points

Same here on the new format. I may have the race on in the background or tape it to watch the parts I want to see, but I HATE stage racing. So you win a "stage?" Is stage racing the response to short attention spans?2 points

I grew up listening on the radio in the late 70s, and then watching on TV in the 80s and 90s, those were some of the best races back then. My first real frown on NASCAR came with the restrictor plates, then the speed limit on pit row, but I admit when Earnhardt got killed, NASCAR lost its luster to me. I have tried to stay tuned in, but its hard. So many changes, it just does not appeal to me anymore. I still do watch the big races. I am probably not the targeted audience today, but I was in the 80s and 90s. I even tried to stay loyal to the major sponsors back then, but really do not pay attention anymore. BTW, I was never a Bobby Allison fan, but it was good to see him and the other Alabama boys start the race Sunday even though Bobby had his walker. Time sure does devour everything.......2 points

Be patient. It can take a few weeks for the birds to find them and start using them. It's also breeding season so they're eating more bugs than nectar, they need the protein for their young.2 points

Wow, Gov. Lee must have fallen off his rocker on this one. Here is a link to the EO he signed yesterday: https://publications.tnsosfiles.com/pub/execorders/exec-orders-lee100.pdf All it did was tell entities with information that they need to ensure such information is made available to TBI for running background checks. Next up is his call for Red Flag Laws. No good can come from these. No matter how they are broken down, there is just too much chance for abuse, not to mention "face your accuser" "innocent until PROVEN guilty" "Secure in your persons" "right to keep" and countless other Constitutional violations these kinds of laws would bring about.1 point

A few feet if you want to watch them fight over the feeders. I have 2 about 6 feet apart in the back and 1 by itself in the front. Nectar is 4:1 water to sugar by volume. The water only has to be warm enough to make the sugar dissolve. Once temps are in the mid 80s, it only lasts 3-5 days before going rancid. Highly recommend some sort of ant moat to keep them out.1 point
-
Once it gets hot and the birds are feeding hard every 3-5 days. Until then once every 8-10 days. I don't use the store bought Nectar. I just use Sugar water as the birds seem to prefer it over the Nectar. 2 cups of sugar to 1 gallon of water. Boil about 1/2 gallon of water and pour in all the sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved and add it to the other 1/2 gallon and shake. I make mine a day in advance and refrigerate it over night.1 point

This is a killer deal on some DD pistols. If I didn't have more inventory than I needed, I'd be all over this. If anyone out there is looking for a solid buy and hasn't gotten in on the "short boi" game, you can't beat this.1 point

2 birds on my feeders yesterday so I will make more nectar today and put up a couple more feeders. Both of the ones I had yesterday were males.1 point

Good spin. That’s news to those who want to believe it, but the Dominion defamation lawsuit is what got Carlson booted. Rumor is there are a few more election deniers and January 6th inciters at Fox News to be released in the very near future.1 point

These all went to the Delayed Bills Committee - which means they went nowhere. To advance a bill out of delayed bills the Speaker, Majority Leader, and Minority Leader have to agree unanimously to advance them. The legislative session also closed for the year on Friday - so those are all dead. The governor is making a big push to call a special session to address gun reform - but we'll see if that happens. I doubt he'll call it at all if Sexton doesn't have the votes.1 point

If you’re interested - I can recommend some good resources on broken windows policing. There are good resources from both a conservative and progressive perspective. Before Giuliani and Kerik went down that path in New York City - the person who came up with the idea was a criminologist named James Wilson. He died a few years ago - but lived long enough to collect a lot of data and see his ideas experimented with in a lot of places. On that note - it should be noted that the particulars of the implementation really matters. There are better and worse implementations of broken windows policing. Giuliani went after “squeegee men” - some of y’all will remember homeless folks “cleaning” your windows at stoplights to shake you down. But at its core broken windows policing says if we vigorously prosecute low level crimes like vandalism and petty crime - then higher level crimes will decrease too. The data mostly shows us that those two things aren’t linked. There are a whole bunch of reasons for that. Areas that have had better luck with it have taken a whole lifecycle approach to policing in very small geographic areas. Areas that haven’t had good experiences wind up targeting specific groups or areas. It becomes quota based and often winds up with abuses like we’ve seen recently here in Tennessee.1 point

Thanks MacGyver-didn't realize the tolerances were that tight! I took it to Knives N' More in Huntsville, AL and showed the owner the knife. He said "What the Heck?" as the knife failed to close fully immediately, and then offered to took a look at it and disassembled the Infidel. Turns out rails that hold the knife inside the handle had screws so loose they were out, so he put locktite on them and tightened them and said to let it set overnight. The owner thought it might have been the machine that puts locktite on the screws ran dry as he didn't think anyone assembling the knife would have just not put locktite on as he didn't see any placed by the factory. Great customer service, I will let you guys know how it works after tomorrow morning when the locktite sets.1 point

That's the Holy Grail of gun banners. Electronic controls on all guns so that the government can shut it down! About as smart as putting combination locks on fire extinguishers.1 point

I'll just point out it's been reported that Bank's are already able to and have compiled lists of gun purchasers for the Government, and handed those lists over to the FBI without a warrant or request. https://www.carolinajournal.com/opinion/outrageous-story-of-the-week-whistleblower-says-bank-of-america-gave-customer-gun-data-to-fbi/ It's NOT a theory that these changes will be used as a form of backdoor gun registry, here is an example of where it was used as one already.1 point

Cash it is. The article was a good read. Looks like FL is already looking to pass laws to penalize credit card companies & banks that use the new MCC (credit card code) to track gun store purchases. Other states like MS & OK are considering doing the same. The new code is a tool to be wielded by progressives to gradually restrict firearm purchases (i.e., Obama era "operation chokepoint" but applied more specifically to gun purchases.) It will start off doing nothing. Then some transactions will get flagged for investigation. Then, eventually, the woke activists will push for all coded firearm purchases to be denied "if it will save even one life" (ignoring how many will be lost due to denied purchases.) It is just another brick in the wall to make the exercise of your constitutional right more onerous. "Merchant category codes (MCCs) are an IRS-developed scheme for tracking transactions. Behind the push for the gun-specific merchant category code is Amalgamated Bank, which boasts that it "supports sustainable organizations, progressive causes, and social justice." It's basically a political operation that uses its presence in the financial industry to advance political goals, and it joined with Democratic politicians to urge adoption of the new MCC. Why? Because at a time when everything is politicized, an ability to monitor buying and selling is enormously important to those who want to restrict or control whole areas of life."1 point
