Got this one in last week, it's a 22/32 Kit Gun Heavy Frame 22lr made in 1927. I'm going to get a S&W Letter on this one. Here's some pictures.

I agree in that there is a number, but we flush way more down the green new deal toilet than what it would cost to place 10 SROs in each TN school from kindergarten to med school, hell, maybe even the entire US, that discussing the cost seems disingenuous at best. Many of the security systems and other safeguards we've discussed on this very thread can be implemented very quickly, including allowing qualified veterans the ability to volunteer their time at their local schools, we have a wide distribution of vets that finding one or more for each school shouldn't be a problem. This could be a temporary solution while more trained and licensed SROs are made available.

I truly hate it for him as well. Working ER for the past few decades I've seen similar related to using the non-gun hand to open or steady a less than rigid holster. Reholstering should be a cautious and deliberate act into a well made holster that doesn't collapse. Not saying that was what happened in this case, but I've seen wounds to the hip, lower extremities and even the non-gun hand that happened when reholstering, Hope he recovered well.

When that grand jury is from New York City I am not sure this benefit of the doubt applies. Had it been in a conservative area, maybe, but I suspect it's also very reasonable to expect a NYC grand jury to be just as anti Trump as the DA.

Vet them through buyer/seller feedback here on TGO. Never meet after dark, if you can at all avoid it. Always meet at a well populated, well trafficked location. Most police stations and sheriff's departments are perfectly fine with you using their parking lot for this. Some even have designated parking spots FOR online sales handoffs. Discuss with the buyer/selller ahead of time if anyone else will be present so that there are no surprises. GO ARMED. Be ready to use it if you have to. Don't leave it in the car, in the glovebox. Keep it on you. LISTEN TO YOUR GUT INSTINCTS. Be willing to drive away if ANYTHING feels off about the setting or the situation at all. The possibility of resulting negative feedback or hurt feelings are completely inconsequential. Your instincts exist for a reason, so trust them. And one last tactic: I have, in the past, gone to a rendezvous and taken my own backup with me. Another person who I knew I could trust to handle the situation if it went sideways. They were armed and as skilled or more so than I am. I circled the lot and let them out nearby so that they could monitor and quickly respond if things got ugly, but far enough away from the rendezvous point that they weren't easily spotted. Basically, learn to think like a predator. Think like a bad guy. Think about what you would do if you were up to no good, and then think about how to circumvent that.

That is because for the most part schools are gun free zones and a soft target. Also along with all the armed Guards at all the Government locations mentioned most Congress and the Presidents have Secret service everywhere they travel to.

With all due respect to every one on TGO that have school age children. Can you honestly put a price on how much money should be provided to their school to protect them while they are in school? I don't really care if a child can afford to attend a private school or is in a public they both deserve the same amount of protection which right now many don't get. We have a Governor that is working on fixing that and I am behind him 100%. If I was 10 or 15 years younger and in better health I would volunteer too be an SRO person at the Gordonsville school that is 7 miles from my home. As far as the action the Metro officers a week ago. I am very glad they were there and did the job needed. I agree with David that waiting on a public security team would have been a grave mistake. It would have been a ULVADE all over again.....JMHO on last statement.

I think there are probably liberal, agnostic, gun owning, non military, pro-choice, non NRA folks here as well. Or Moderate, Christian, gun owning, pro-choice indifferent on the NRA folks. That is what makes this a great forum. we have members of differing opinion, but I feel we all understand the importance of the Second Amendment to the Constitution. For the most part we respect (some maybe tolerate) each other’s differing viewpoints.

Well, The electrician was dead on with his timing and he completed the job and was gone on Wednesday and had me powered back up Wednesday evening and he called for an inspection on Thursday. The inspector only works in Smith County on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The inspector came out, spent about 10 minutes looking at the work and put a sticker on the breaker box that said inspected and approved. I spent most of yesterday unplugging my house from the generator and looping up extension cords so Tommy could take them back to work warehouse of his employer. As far as my cables bringing power to my box from the weather head outside, I had the electrician check them and they are copper but he did install a new ground cable for the weather head as the one on it was broken near the ground. I guess I am good to go for a while and Rosie got a special supper the last few nights and I have a bag of treats for her. I tested her again last evening and she is still doing as I taught her. I went to the far end of the house away from her and pushed the test button on a smoke detector and in about a minute she was standing beside me and I said good girl and petted her and gave her a treat. I'm also going to look at updating my ABC Extingushers as they are all over 5 years old. They still work but just somethings need to be updated over. time.

Good grief. Well I wish him best and hope he heals quickly. I prefer to shoot at outdoor ranges, like the Action Pistol range at ORSA where it's only myself and or a few trusted friends. I've done many gun deals, with folks from TGO and elsewhere, with no problems. Some tips: Check the reputation of the buyer, be extremely cautious if the other party arrives with someone else, meet to do the transaction in the parking lot of a police station or a gun store. Our society has absolutely lost all ability to cope with difficulty/conflict (normal life) and it often festers into what we are seeing. Everyone wants a pill fix and not a work/effort/overcome solution. While "get over it" is extreme, it is far closer to a solution than medication. Pills only help natural chemical imbalances. Very few cases are natural chemical imbalance. Most are cognitive behavioral imbalances.

100% gas is must have for anything with a carburetor. 100LL is a bit of overkill as no power equipment needs anywhere close to 100 octane, 87 works just fine, but it does last a long time. The trick to long shelf life is no air exposure. A full, sealed container will last quite a while. Don't put 100LL in anything with a catalytic converter, it'll clog it up with extended use.
