Current police officer for Memphis and in the TN Air Guard. Lived in Memphis most of my life except for when I was active duty Army. Found this forum from a couple buddy’s. Look forward to buying, selling and learning here.2 points

Also consider that you only have 21 posts. Many folks here strongly prefer to do business with long standing and established members who they know. We had a thread about such things just recently. It simply boils down to their gun, their choice.2 points

Yeah, an "I'll take it" with a delay condition is not an I'll take it. It's "I'll take it" and most convenient that gets it. A weeks delay is a sellers discretion to agree to or not. The seller has the right to accept what is most convenient for him. An "I'll take it" does not give the buyer the ability to dictate the terms after the fact.2 points

There are too many factors involved in situations like this for us to make a one-size fits all policy to address it. That is why we have buyer/seller feedback as a tool for people on TGO to use. When you post that you are interested in an item, it's normal to expect the seller to at least respond to you - but the fact is that they are under no obligation to do so, and your act of expressing interest in the item does not constitute some sort of contract with them to sell to you. There are plenty of good reasons why either party in a potential transaction might want to back away from the deal, including the right to exercise their personal discretion / gut-instinct if they feel that some part of the transaction is suspicious. I do find it somewhat strange that three different sellers have done this to you, so I would like to know more. Use the feature to report the threads in question so that we can look into it.2 points

I get it, but if the seller is being like that I don't want to deal with them anyway.2 points

18” LaRue .223 Wylde chamber (5.56/.223) billet AR. All LaRue parts except for grip (BCM, original available) CH (Radian Raptor) and castle nut (PWS ratcheting style). (I changed those parts out, rest was built by the LaRue crew.) Perfect base rifle for an SPR build. These are some of the most accurate AR-15s on the market. I’ve only put a couple of mags through her. I got REALLY into retro rifles and NVGs after getting her. So she’s never gotten a whole lot of use because of that. You’re gonna get a very clean, accurate and all but brand new rifle. $1500 located in Jackson.1 point

Selling my Ed Brown Alpha Carry in 45acp. Has less than 500 rounds through it, the gun was purchased probably 8 to 10 years ago I cant remember exactly. If you know about Ed Browns they are a top tier 1911 that are tried and true. It has an aftermarket G10 "grenade" style grip from VZ grips. Not interested in any trades. Looking for $2200.1 point

I can appreciate it. Tennessee is a very long state. Happens to all of us. True, some more than others but I've had this happen to me quite a bit. I just understand, if things are in the Memphis area, Chattanooga, or Knoxville areas I'll probably miss out. I can offer but I understand the reality. And rarely, if ever will I ship. Just not worth the hassle and risk most if the time.1 point

Glocks are boring as hell, but that being said, they just run and run and run and shoot good. Best all around semi-automatic on the market today. I'm a guy with Gen 2 17 and a Gen 5 45 with ameriglo night sights.1 point

There is elegance in simplicity. Good leather properly prepared and finished is attractive without a lot of adornment. It’s been fun watching other makers on this forum perfect their craft. Keep it up, you’ll get there!1 point

I guess I'm just too traditional. I just can't like the new tacticool lever guns. But seeing as the antis are dead set on banning ARs, I can understand the appeal to some.1 point

Mossberg Maverick HS12 Over Under, 12GA, with IC and Cylinder 18-1/2" barrels Used once to rest function. Works perfectly. Very simple and unique. HS12 model intended for home security / home defense. Safety selector on the tang also switches between which barrel fires first between top and bottom. Way more usable than the Shockwave style firearms because this is still super short overall length but can have a stock. Not an NFA item — legally a shotgun. This is the shortest legal stocked shotgun you will find. Can also be quickly taken down in half for easy storage in a bag. Available online at Sportsman’s Warehouse for $490. Hope to get $400 because it’s barely been used, it’s been taken care of, and it comes with a light. Make an offer.1 point

It's what I thought cornbread should look like LOL. Never knew any different. My father and his family are from Soso,MS. His father was named "Boss Jackson". Mean old ####! Ethel Knight was my great aunt. She wrote "The Echo of the Black Horn"...one of the many versions of my mongrel heritage. I enjoyed the movie as well. Jones County is it's own kind of special. My MIL, Winnie Sue, has a 12 foot gator in the finger lake in her back yard. Fish and Game have removed a couple like that for her. I personally never cared for gator, but I do love some mudbugs! They're easier to manage.1 point

Good grief. Well I wish him best and hope he heals quickly. I prefer to shoot at outdoor ranges, like the Action Pistol range at ORSA where it's only myself and or a few trusted friends. That said I do shoot several times a month at Range USA. Good people and good RSO's, but you definitely always have to be on the lookout for those shooting around you. It's a national phenomena. After 50 years in healthcare, ER/ICU I've come to the conclusion that there is a great deal more "negligence" than the is "accidental"...1 point

So I did the same thing to the Sears branded Winchester I have. Its factory finish was meh. It was a harder finish to remove, and I ended up having to use Citrus Strip to get the hard finish off. I still used the acetone/0000 steel wool and denatured alcohol/0000steel wool for the final prep. The rifle as got it from chance77. The finish was much better than on the Model 45, but I still thought it had more potential. After stripping with citrus strip, acetone and denatured alcohol. I think I left a remnant of finish. After the first two applications of the Winchester Restorations Stock Oil (a tinted linseed oil recipe devised by long time Winchester restorer John Kay) After a few more applications and time to cure. (the lighting is different in the last photo. It did end up darker than above, but not quite as drastically as it looks)1 point

Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~1 point

Hold up there Bubba! Your first 1911 MUST be in .45acp. Further, it should be a basic G.I. style pistol. Otherwise you'll be cheating yourself out of the 1911 experience. Know where it all started and you'll be amazed as to where it can go from there. I think a good starting point is the Rock Island G.I. model. A really good, reliable pistol at a good price. It will be your first, but it won't be your last. You can move up from there with a much better idea of what you want the final result to be. I own a bunch of 1911s. Most are .45acp. A few are in the other original caliber, .38 Super. I only own one in 9mm and all I can say for that is meh! Ain't what I thought it should be. I shot it a couple of times and its sat in the safe ever since. Wish I had never bought it. IMHO 9mm 1911s are for wimps who can't handle a real gun. If you want a 1911-ish gun in 9mm, go with a Hi-Power. Now that's the perfect 9mm SA pistol.1 point

The pistol looks like NIB, the box is in good shape for a Russian box. The guy I got it from put a half a mag thru it, cleaned it, put it back in the box.in his sock drawer.0 points
