“Not only have Tennessee Republicans now become the laughingstock of the nation, the bottom line is this: Randy McNally is a predator,” Warner said in the statement. Note the bold words. Republicans all over the country have gone nuts and Tennessee is leading the charge. Drag shows, LGBTQ, abortion and so on. You CAN NOT legislate morality! Its been tried for centuries and has NEVER worked. More often than not, it comes back to bite the butt of those trying to force their values on others. I may not agree with your lifestyle choices, but I fully support your right to choose for yourself. How a person chooses to live their life ain't nobody else's damned business!7 points

As I've said for years and maintain to this day, you'll wake up a criminal one day and all you have to do is be a gun owner.6 points

Definitely have some cash on hand, because if the economy were to completely tank, you will need kindling. I like the idea of precious metals, i really do, but i can't help feeling like they're only good for when you're backing something with it, like cash. real estate is great if you can pay for it outright, but then you'll have taxes Food is always a good idea, more importantly the ability to replace said food (and protect it) Ultimately, prayer is the best answer IMO.5 points

A bunch of people left Europe around 400 years ago and headed west over the ocean because of government enforced morality. They started a new nation with a constitution that was the envy of the entire planet. The premise of that constitution was freedom. It’s a shame that morality is once again being legislated and dictated by the ignorant.4 points

I haven't seen proof he's come out as gay. He's married to a woman and has two kids. He says he believes in traditional marriage. He spoke out against allowing gay couples to adopt kids. All the while hitting on and grooming young boys. If I missed something let me know. As far as I can tell he's still denying having those feelings.4 points

Our card company told us once that some thieves sorta go fishing. They make small purchases on lots of cards to verify which are still open. My wife had it happen with a 99 cent Apple song. The bank said then they either resell the verified good numbers or use the ones still open in a while figuring they are watched less.4 points

One of the forums I frequent (I think it was an ADV motorcycle forum) had a good recipe thread going for a long time. One day we were talking about squirrel dumplins and venison recipes and what not and this one fella asked if we'd every had crawdad cornbread. I am a sucker for some cajun/creole food, so I begged the recipe off of him and tried it. My kids begged me to make it every week for months after we tried it, but crawdads are hard to come by here, so started using mini cocktail shrimp instead. If you like cornbread and you like cajun food, I'd be surprised if you don't like cajun crawfish cornbread casserole. Don't it look good?4 points

Well, this one sucks. I've not had it long & wanted one for yeeeears, but I've got some major upcoming expenses that have to take priority. I can always buy another one later. It still sucks though. Pretty much mint condition, no marks anywhere I can find & a low round count. Not sure how many @AuEagle put through it, previous to my ownership, but I've put less than 100 shots down the pipe. It comes with 1, 10 round & 1, 20 round mag, plus the sling, Burris Scout 2-7x32 scope in Leupold rings. Also included is the USGI M14 manual of arms. It's a rock solid outfit & great fun to shoot! It has the least recoil of any rifle I've ever shot, bigger than .223! Never had a misfire or malfunction. $2000 all in or $1700 for the bare rifle, both mags & sling, no scope or rings (what I have in it)3 points

Rep. Todd Warner is dog poop as fare as the other House members are concerned...his relationship with the former Chief of Staff for ousted Speaker Casada puts him in a hole, so nobody else is going to glom on to that letter. However, I think the present Lt. Gov.'s days are numbered from the scuttlebutt I am hearing. Why Sexton is going on the radio to support him at this point is beyond me, except a friend standing up for a past relationship...3 points

Good to hear you bank is on the ball! My bank called me last night to confirm a sale on my card as well, all were mine but out of area, so they are checking up.3 points

I found an unrecognized charge on my credit card yesterday. Oddly, it was from last week and it turned out to be fraud. The weird thing is that whoever got my card number only used it ONCE and that was a week ago. I've only had this happen one other time and they made a lot of big attempts in rapid succession. This person bought themselves an e-book on Amazon's Kindle site and that's all. Amazon wouldn't tell me who it was or do anything about it, but the bank reversed the charge immediately and said they'd investigate. It was only $9.99, but I hope they prosecute. I hate thievery with every ounce of my being. The target device that downloaded the e-book will be easy to find and I gave them the Amazon order number, but I won't hold my breath. Mostly I want them punished for making me cancel my card and get a new number.2 points

Have y'all seen this tidbit..? A Republican TN rep has had enough of McNally... https://www.wsmv.com/2023/03/16/tennessee-lawmaker-calls-lt-gov-mcnally-resign-after-perverted-social-media-activity/ This could have a very definite effect on TN 2A politics. McNally has long been in the pockets of the " Property Rights trump Self Defense" crowd... This one will be interesting to watch. As I remember, this McNally thing made Breitbart... Watching ( n hopin ) leroy...2 points

I got picked on when I was in the 7th grade,,,Once. Bigger kid in the seat behind me on the school bus thumped my ear twice , I told him it would be best if he didn't do it again. He did. I made sure I got off the bus before he did and met him as he got off the steps. I had to walk the 2.5 miles to school the next two weeks but I never got picked on again. I never advocate starting a fight but sometimes you got to take up for yourself and finish one.2 points

Ok. I’m with you now. I haven’t really kept up with this story. I simply don’t care for his governing style and would like to see him replaced. If a scandal is what gets it done, so be it.2 points

Maybe this will clear up any confusion. Commenting on pictures where a young man is basically nude with and along with telling him "you can turn a rainy day into rainbows and sunshine" Nah, definitely not gay...Just a confused old man I guess.2 points
-
Agreed. What I saw with his comments toward the gay young man were one of someone that should NOT be on social media. I have an elderly relative that refuses to put it down at 83. Ask me how many "friends" they have on Facef*ck that aren't even on this continent. But despite my disdain for them using it the rest of the family is for it so hey, let em be the next social media murder statistic.2 points

I can't decide what " the real deal " is... I live in McNally's home district, n I've never heard of nor thought anything other than he wuz bought n paid for by the " Landed Gentry " republicans like Haslam. He may have just made an Huho; but in his business they can be fatal. As I remember, McNally is 78, that's pretty ancient for any kind of flanderin of any flavor... wondering leroy...2 points

I just found out that Girsan is now making a shorter Detective version of their Hi-Power clone. Called the MC P35 PI. It will come in several different colors and include rail and optics ready versions. MSRP is expected to be in the $560-ish area. They're just starting to be available now. Rumor has it that there's an alloy frame version in the works. I will be getting one of these! https://www.guns.com/news/2022/08/08/mcp35-pi-eaa-to-bring-in-chopped-hi-power-clone https://www.tactical-life.com/firearm-news/eaa-girsan-mc-p35-pi/2 points

He's got to mollify his base with tough talk on guns after screwing his supporters by potentially allowing oil drilling in Alaska. It's a nothing burger, but it won't end up being entirely harmless as we will all potentially be impacted until the inevitable lawsuits work thru the court system to nullify whatever this ends up doing. A 40 year career politician just working the media to look tough on guns. <sigh> I can't wait for 2024 when we can be done with this demented clown.2 points

It is sad we have been conditioned to hate anyone who took risks, worked hard, made sound decisions, and became successful. Every political speech and every newscast now seem to lump us into separate groups and urge us to hate one another. I’m about ready for us all to become Americans again.2 points

Slabs are pretty popular these days if your lot will accommodate, and it's generally cheaper to build. Most spec builder neighborhoods are all on slabs. Most of the time these days supply lines are pex and often sleeved so a repair is not horrible. Drain lines don't usually cause a problem since there is no pressure. I've looked at a lot of houses and for a retirement home I might just go with a slab. I built 18 years ago and did crawl space and it has worked out well. Makes it easy to see all the mechanicals, you can add new wiring etc pretty easily, unless it's a belly crawl space. I would definitely go with slab if it's going to be a belly crawl height. Also with a slab there is no concern with potential mold and not too much to worry about with termites if you have the grade correctly set.1 point

Alright here's another submission from me: The FN 509MRD. I no longer own this particular firearm but I would buy another if the opportunity arose. These guns have practically everything that you need in a fighting handgun: Ready for a variety of optics with a good, strong mounting system. Excellent grip texture to maximize control. Grip size is customizable with three different size backstraps. Forward cocking serrations on the slide. Good trigger with good reset. It gets better with use, too. Excellent accuracy thanks to a quality barrel, which is crowned at the muzzle. Glock 19 sized. 15-rd mags. For some reason these don't get much love. FN's marketing isn't the best, but this gun is worth your consideration.1 point

Beretta 81 BB in .32 ACP. Easy to carry, has a decent trigger, light weight,12 in the mag one in the pipe, accurate. Not powerful compared to bigger cartridges but I can hit you in the head with it at any reasonable distance all day long. Love how it feels in your hand, like a full size gun. Mine was surplus from the Italian Forrest Service and was like new for $349.00 and shipping a few years back and can still be found for about $100.00 more as can the .380 version. You can convert the 81BB to .380 with a barrel and magazine swap and shoot both. Not what I carry every day but I have carried it quite a lot, much more than I ever imagined I would.1 point

I think Warner was just trying to get in a couple jabs at McNally for the whole Casada ordeal lol. Everyone they interviewed this morning, Sexton being one of them, was basically saying Warner was on his own on this one. But they weren't necessarily pulling for Mcnally either. It was interesting. I personally feel he's been sick and low energy for a while and the old boy needs to clippity clap off into the sunset.1 point

I have had my credit card information stolen three different years. Each time they tested my credit card with a $1 or $1.50 small transaction. One time they charged my credit card with a small transaction to test that the card was still valid and then issued a credit for the same amount. Since both of those transactions were pending transactions, I would have not known about the test if I relied on seeing the transactions on my statement. However, I have text and email alerts setup on my credit card which alerted me to the test transactions. I have text and email alerts setup with all my financial institutions. Each year I renew my fraud alert with one of the credit report companies which gets shared to the other two credit report companies to make it harder for someone to open a new credit account in my name.1 point

I watched these guys last night, good stuff about this subject. Gun owners who want to sell or buy more than 10 firearms a year will be in trouble. A loved one selling off a collection are going to have a very hard time as well.1 point

I'll just point out it's been reported that Bank's are already able to and have compiled lists of gun purchasers for the Government, and handed those lists over to the FBI without a warrant or request. https://www.carolinajournal.com/opinion/outrageous-story-of-the-week-whistleblower-says-bank-of-america-gave-customer-gun-data-to-fbi/ It's NOT a theory that these changes will be used as a form of backdoor gun registry, here is an example of where it was used as one already.1 point
