  1. I enjoyed reading all of the posts of underappreciated handguns and thought I should post a photo of my own. Almost 20 years carrying this Mauser HSc .380ACP. I stopped carrying it when I found out how valuable it now was to the collecting world. An odd looking tool with old world charm. It still shoots small groups at combat distances, but I've been keeping it lovingly cared for and locked away. Newer tech now decorates my waistband holster (Ruger LC9).

  2. For sale is my Ruger SP101 3" 6-shot in .327 Federal. This cartridge was hyped as having much of the same ballistics as .357 out of a short barrel with less recoil and ability to chamber an additional round. It is also able to chamber .32 H&R mag, .32 Long, .32 Short, and .32 ACP. This is a rare revolver in this chambering and this ammo is exceptionally scarce hence the pricing over what you would expect for a standard SP101. Included: Meprolight night sight (about 3 yrs old) Pachmayr Renegade grip Factory grip Factory box Don Hume holster 200+ rounds of Federal 100 gr JSP 1 box Aguila .32 long 2 ammo strips 2 boxes (40 rds) of Speer Gold Dot 100 gr Ammo can Asking $1100 $1000 for this package or $1200 $1100 trade value. Can meet around Chattanooga.

  6. Hello to every one, Glad to be in the beautiful, free state of Tennessee. Moved from New York to Murfreesboro. My wife and I are very active in many activities. We love to shoot and meet new people. We are glad to be finally here in the land of the free and away from the whack-job NYS Governor. We are looking forward to all that TN has to offer.

  10. That sounds good. I bet that is very similar in taste to one I like. It is hot pepper jelly and dijon mustard mixed together. Makes a real nice glaze when you are grilling. As far as a marinade here is one my wife and I really like. 2 bottles of teriyaki marinade 1 can crushed pineapple 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup or more of hot sauce 1/4 cup lemon juice. Blend it up and pour it over chicken that has been tenderized with a jaccard. After it marinates throw it on the smoker for 30-40 minutes. Delicious.

  11. My daughter purchased for me 2 Owl nesting boxes for my 75th birthday. Told my wife I would like to have a box last Monday, just in passing, and behold by Saturday I had 2 at my party. One is for Screech Owls who nest together with both male and female in the box. The other is for Great Horned Owls or barn Owls who just the female stays in the box with the young while the male brings food. The directions said to mount them in trees, on to the trunk, and about 10 to 15 feet from the ground. Need to be facing south for warmth. I put the Screech Owl box at 13 feet and the other at 16 feet. Directions said we need to have them out by February, so we are a little late. Any ways, we will see. I have never tried to attract Owls, but we did have 2 Great Horned Owls last spring, but the crows ran them off. I have also had Screech Owls in the past. We just finished putting them up, so we are ready! Bring them on...

  12. I hope you have them nesting soon. I use to wonder about things like that and I asked my father many years ago about Hummingbirds and if we had any around. A few days later he handed me a couple feeders and said if you put sugar water in them and hang the on the eve of the front porch we will see if we have any birds. Within 3 days we had 4 birds feeding on the feeders and I have had Hummingbird feeders up every place I have lived since them and had birds every time. Good luck with the owls!!!

  14. I've owned three of these RPR's for some time, including one in 338 Lapua. GREAT rifles at a fair price, in my opinion. GLWS.

  15. yes, and I've been carrying it for the past couple of weeks. It's a lot lighter than most of my knives, but it seems to be solid and is what I expected.

  16. I don’t know that you’ll totally get away from that. I‘d love to have a nice pair of leather gloves with all kinds of character like you see in the old western movies. But there’s a reason you only see those in the movies - because they’re not real. If we’re using gloves to protect our hands - then they’re a consumable item and we should think of them like that. So then it’s down to balancing “how do I consume these less frequently at a reasonable price point.“ The gloves I posted above meet that criteria for me. They’re super comfortable, and it doesn’t make me viscerally angry to have to replace them. I can’t even count how many mechanic type gloves I’ve worn out over the years after less than a day of use. Paying 25 or 30 bucks for a “heavy duty” pair just makes you mad when they wear out. I keep two types of gloves around. The ones I posted above, and a $20 box of nitrile gloves that I use when I just want to keep my hands clean.

  17. Co-Op still had their normal shelf full of saws at the regular price. He said they’d sold more than normal since Friday, but they sell a bunch of saws every day, so he had plenty. I got a Stihl MS 170 with a 16” bar. It weighs a little more than half what my old saw weighs and seems to cut just as good. Best of all, it actually runs!

  18. oh i'm sure they all went up in price as well I managed to get my fence rebuilt over about 3 days. Sadly, it made me take a much closer look at my fence and realize just how old it is. I had to remove a few panels to refit some of the sections and i was able to just break the pickets off by hand. My fence (shadow box) covers half of a 3/4 acre lot.... that's not gonna be cheap. But at least i can do it myself.

  20. These “HydraHyde” gloves by Wells Lamont are on the shelf at Lowe’s and have become my favorite over the last several years. Whatever they treat them with really seems to toughen the leather up while still staying soft. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Wells-Lamont-HydraHyde-Large-Mens-Leather-Multipurpose-Gloves/1000380323 I don’t use gloves on a daily basis - but I’d call myself a heavy weekly user. I just bought my third pair in maybe 6 years - the second pair is still fine. I wore the first pair out. They’re typically around $15 so they won’t break the bank

  21. I use leather gloves every day, if working with smoth material the gloves will last a good bit, months. However if working with cut and split fire wood the seams and finger tip will wear fast. days. When working with brick and block, the finger tips will wear out in hours. I have half a dozen pair around, bought at different places over time, all are worn and seams pulled apart. I have learned to buy at a fair price and more than one pair at a time.

  22. The best for abrasion resistance and dexterity is goat skin. You can get a 3 pack of VGO goat skin work gloves on Amazon for a decent price. I've had the same pair of goatskin motorcycle gloves for almost 8 years and you can barely see some wear marks. I like goatskin way better than deerskin or cowhide.

  24. Hi I have this LNIB ATN X-sight 4K pro night vision scope for sale. Bought it for a potential hog hunting trip in Texas but have had no time to do it. Tested at the range to zero it. Very good review on Amazon. Long battery life, can see clearly 100-125 yards in the evening without extra IR light. With extra IR light you can see up to 250 yards in the darkness.Great for Hog or Coyote control. you can use it in day time too. The ballistic calculation and 1 shot zero functional are really handy New for $739+ tax. Asking $590 OBO.. or trade for 9mm ammo

  26. I'll toss in the Beretta Serie 80 .380s. I have an 84BB and an 85BB. The 84 is a double stack and fits my hand so I shoot it better. BBs have a safety. Later models have a decocker. Ala Burger King, have it your way. Light Al frames make them easy to carry. Midsize so they conceal well. Too big for a pocket (XSP for that), though.

  27. The P32 is the cause of my .32ACP infatuation. I carried one for a couple of years, but decided I needed a Ruger LCP. So I passed the little P32 on to my oldest daughter, who was looking for something small to carry. Found out I was not a fan of the original LCP. When they came out with the LCP Max, I traded it in. I really like the MAX. It's a great shooting little pistol! If it were in .32ACP, I'd probably be it's love slave!!!

  28. Oh, I doubt it would be a carry gun. I have others that's I'd carry much more often. My Primary is a Ruger Max9. If I have to carry something smaller, due to clothing concerns, then I carry a Ruger LCP Max, with an occasional foray out with a S&W 442 or a Glock 45. I just like the .32ACP round.

  31. P220 Carry. It's similar to a commander 1911 size version of the P220. Mine has been super reliable with all types of projectile profiles and types. P229 sized slide with P220 lower. Fits P229 holsters. DA/SA has become far less popular in recent years but I still like them. It's similar to having a stick shift car. If you know how to drive, it's good. I like 45s. The original Springfield XDS 45 post recall is another I still like. Before the GRIP ZONE. This is another 45 that's been an absolute omnivore when it comes to ammo. I got it back in the G43 days when the 9mm capacity advantage was only 1 more round and the XDS was similar in size to the G43. XDS came with decent sights stock. Both of the P220 carry and XDS above run reliably dirty. 45 ACP isn't popular anymore because of projectile tech advancements. The question I always ask everyone who preaches 9mm is: how many cases of premium JHP rounds do you have on hand? If the answer is one 20 round box, I'd take the 45. FMJ to FMJ the 45 will be the winner for me. For the record, I like all calibers but I feel like this unpopular opinion is often overlooked in the echo chamber. Also, +1 for the Ruger P series, cool workhorse guns.

  32. I had a PT145 for a while. It was the only Taurus I ever owned and the only 45acp gun I ever owned. It was a good gun and I can't say anything bad about it but it was heavier than I liked for carry. The gun wasn't heavy. It was the 45 ammo.

  33. Rex Zero 1 https://www.arex.si/zero1 last summer I noticed a Sig226 clone on a local online gun auction site harveysauctions.com It looked so much like the Sig that I had to check it out. After handling this pistol I bid and won the Rex Zero One for $420. Manufactured in Slovenia and imported by Fime Group out of Las Vegas this pistol is a beast. And point of aim is dead on. This pistol is very customizable with after market parts available becoming available There are a lot of Utube reviews and torture test , including a 3000 round non stop firing with zero malfunctions

  35. So the app for us is easy because the kids both have iphones and we just simply don't allow them to install it. They don't have laptops/desktops so i haven't been as concerned with the blocking via browser. however, i've started looking into it now that you've piqued my curiosity and it is NOT a straight forward process. https://www.pcwrt.com/2020/08/how-to-block-the-tiktok-app-on-the-router/ this one had a fairly long list of associated domains that you can blacklist. However, OpenDNS has a limit of 25 domains unless you're paying (i assume at least) I went ahead and blocked that full list in Unifi. Tiktok doesn't load via browser for me. I would install the app to test..... but no thanks.

  36. Similar thing happened to me in college. I told my friends I couldn't afford to use all my minutes so if they called to keep it REALLY SHORT. Late one night I got the following message from a friend: "HELP! HELP! CALL ME BACK! WHAT DO I DO? THE CONDOM BROKE!"

  37. I was hopping in the Jeep to leave and noticed the tongue of my camper completely inside the wheel of my driver front tire (4.5" backspacing). The wind slid it about 18" down the driveway. I usually don't put the wheel chocks in place when I have the stabilizers down, but I sure will from now on.
