  1. All of the cable news networks are entertainment outlets aimed at a specific audience biases. None should be trusted at all for any reason. They wish not to disseminate truth or understanding. They simply want to keep your eyeballs glued to their screen and will say whatever it takes to accomplish that. It’s a good thing to understand that they’re all dying businesses.

  3. I’ve been retired for a little over three years now. Time still goes by extremely fast. I try as much as humanly possible to avoid stress while attempting to remain positive about everything. Life is truly short and working is overrated. I guess the only negative to retiring somewhat early is that everyone I enjoy spending time with still works. I don’t get lonely, because I’m an introvert, but I’d like it if more friends and family had this freedom. Anyway, besides guns I also enjoy flying my DJI drone, goofing around with my Traxxas rc 4x4, online poker, news, history, driving my Teryx sxs, military and civilian flight simulation and most importantly, quiet time. I’m looking forward to spring, because I really enjoy swimming. Swimming really helps with my arthritis. I’m a home body, but I travel internationally only because my wife loves to travel. The benefit of traveling outside of the country is seeing historic landmarks and enjoying native culture. Thanks for reading and feel free to share anything that brings you peace of mind and pleasure.

  4. I find myself reading all news networks. There isn't "one you can trust", even with local news. The spin is always there so if it's a topic i feel heavily about, i read as many places as i can to decide. Now, that's far and few between because i find that my life and happiness improve SIGNIFICANTLY by not turning on the news at all.

  5. Suing doesn't bring grandma / mom back, but it could offset funeral expenses and likely will line the pockets of some family members who could have helped her more than they did. I guess that seems awfully negative of me, but people are a predictable species.

  6. Carlson and Maddow both used this defense and won. They are more alike than they are different. A federal judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit against Fox News after lawyers for the network argued that no "reasonable viewer" would take the network's primetime star Tucker Carlson seriously. https://www.businessinsider.com/fox-news-karen-mcdougal-case-tucker-carlson-2020-9?op=1

  8. I never did trust any of them. They are blowhards who love to hear themselves speak and carry on about the same things over and over and over again.to the point that they have no legitimacy.

  10. He’s a war tourist. Claims to be fighting in Ukraine, yet is always pictured with the cleanest uniform and kit that don’t have the slightest pinch of salt to them. Never has any spare mags or ammo in any of the pictures he posts. He’s an obvious liar and propaganda mouthpiece playing a role for the cash and creds.

  11. I enjoy working on my vehicles. Until 5 years ago I had never changed my own oil. Last weekend I replaced my lower control arms on my truck. It took me 8 hours but I enjoyed the challenge. Still not sure I'm brave enough to attempt the timing belt. I bought an electric dirt bike last year that I've enjoyed riding and also working on it. My wife and I enjoy traveling (her more than me). Last year we went to Spain. This year we're going to Finland and Estonia. I also enjoy working on my house. I'm trying to work up the motivation to lay tile.

  12. I'm boring and do what most people do I think Jeeper - So parts and light offroading (still paying for it) Firearms - Obviously. I really enjoy refinishing old military issue firearms. The more cosmo, the better. IT stuff - gaming, tech, etc. Though because i've seen behind the curtain for 19 years, I don't do IoT devices Traveling - specifically in the jeep. Just... getting out into the woods or backroads i've never driven Church - Whatever is needed, whenever it's need. We do a lot of community assistance. I may be on a mission trip soon Cars in general - I like to tinker. I would love to restore one. Maybe restomod, but i need a larger garage first I picture myself traveling a bit but ultimately I want 20 acres of woods, a one story house for the wife myself. That way I can leave it to the kids when it's time. But the big thing for me is going to be volunteer work I think. Finding some way to pay it forward because I've learned so much in this life already that I can give to others. Whatever I do, I would like it too lead to a headstone that says....."he was a pretty good dude".

  13. So LEOs have some ability to not allow ETOH affect their judgment carrying a weapon that the rest of us do not possess? The desire to expand the Second Amendment is becoming ridiculous.

  16. Hello, I have an Atlas Nyx V2 for sale. It has about 1500 rounds thru it and is in my opinion just at the point where it is broken in. It shoots incredibly as I'm sure you all are aware. It is painful for me to have to sell it but I'm retiring from the Army in about 6 months so I'm just trying to be responsible (according to my wife.) Anyways, I'm asking $4700 but will consider reasonable offers. After taxes and fees I paid just over $5,700 so I think it's a decent deal. It will come with 2x 21 round mags. It has a small cosmetic defect near the front sight but nothing major. Other than that it is beautiful. And I'll just say again it shoots incredibly flat. I can send you more pictures if you'd like.

  17. I would suggest that the HP argument is very weak as you presented. Easily defended, by the LEO use and prevention of shoot throughs.. FMJ are subject to needing more shots, more risk plus the concern for shoot through and additional criminal/civil liability. Keep in mind FMJ can shoot through 9 layers of drywall. I would urge you to attend and document training that discusses this and other issues.

  18. Sig 556, side charging, adjustable long stroke gas piston operating system. This is the smoothest shooting 5.56 I have owned, almost non-existent recoil. I had a red dot mounted so I took off the sights. They will come with the rifle or if you prefer I can reinstall them (about a 5 min process). Takes standard AR mags. Selling to fund other projects. Thanks for looking.

  19. I quit watching all of the cable news years ago and now I watch the local news on channel 5. I use to watch Fox and Hannity till he went totally political and that ended my Fox.

  20. I've never watched Fox news. But then, I take all of MSM with a very healthy grain of salt. Always remember that the News programs are just another TV show. They fight for ratings just like your favorite sit-com. Plus they all have their own agenda.

  23. Welcome to East Tennessee. Honestly, as long as you are in the right in a shooting, the odds of you being tried and convicted are very low. LE and the Justice System aren't that way at all, around here. Nashville and Memphis are the areas you probably have to worry more about such a thing happening. Many years ago, here in Knox County, a man shot and killed a Peeping Tom, he had caught looking in the window at his teenage daughter, as she was undressing. The DA took it to the grand jury, because he shot the Peeping Tom in the back, as he was running away. The Grand Jury rejected the DA's argument, even though he shot the guy in the back. The DA didn't try that again.

  24. Thank you all! She's beautiful pistol, but a rather snappy shooting little thing and not a lot of fun over an extended range session. I've found every .380 that I've have every owned to be that way, but my Ruger LCP Max. She is deadly accurate though. The test fire target is in the box too and it's not a lie. So far she's ate everything I've fed, but that's mostly FMJ and some 80 Gr Legend Copper HPs. I do waffle back and forth about selling her, when I get the fever for a S&W revolver. And right now, I have the fever. But I am resisting mightily. I think there are going to be a couple of other pistols that might end up getting sold or traded, instead.

  27. I’m sorry, but it has been all but proven (and I would venture to say proven) that there was not massive voter fraud. Every court case was lost, every recount showed the counts were legitimate. The only things that were done illegally were alternate electors and someone asking for votes to be “found”.

  30. It's on topic IMO, many had doubts about the fact that the election was rigged. So much voter fraud was committed that the average person didn't believe, and many still refuse to believe. As to their, and any other talking head's, opinion, you must seperate the "news" from their opinion. Fox, has covered stories that the rest of the MSM doesn't touch, so they will continue to get my views, but I will make up my mind what the story means. As to the rest of the MSM, well yea not gonna happen, their coverage is so twisted there's no separating the two.

  33. I just moved from North Carolina to Ft. Campbell (the TN side). I was apart of a similar forum in NC and am looking forward to being able to have the same community of sorts here. I mostly deal on the more "tactical" side of guns and accessories but would like to get into more precision shooting and reloading.

  38. Or, possibly, gummy oil in the firing pin channel. Weak hammer spring is possible if someone has tried to do a back yard trigger job (ie... didn't know what they were doing). Personally, I would take bolt out of rifle and give through cleaning and light lube. Then retry. I am leaning to agree with RED333, very good possibiity of binding springs.

  39. I've been involved in elder care the last 10 years. To tell me no one was contacted sends my BS meter into the red zone. Now calling and getting a "you handle her" could be a detail yet to come out. I'm right there with you on the cop or the emt workers for that matter

  40. I’ll be the first to put my toe in the water. I worked as an EMT for 12 years and everything on this video goes against the care I was trained to render. I would love to really unload on the police and medical staff, but fear of my comments living forever in print and could come back to bite me in the ass later. THE PROBLEM IS THAT SATAN IS ALIVE AND WELL AND FINDING PEOPLE WITH ANY MEASURE OF SHAME IS GETTING HARDER TO DO EVERY DAY. IN THE WORLD I GREW UP IN PEOPLE HAD THE DECENCY TO SHOW COMPASSION AND CARE. I FEAR CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS ARE ABOUT TO BE CALLED UPON. OMG THIS MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH.

  41. We have a couple of IBC totes for our rain water collection system. The water in one tote is used for our gardens, we always keep one tote topped off, and the water is cycled due to using it in the garden. We also have 5 gallon containers and one gallon jugs that are kept full, with about 50 gallons in portable containers. If we end up using our rainwater, it would be filtered and then treated with either chlorine or UV light, depending upon the quantity needed. We also have a spring, and the water from that would also be filtered and treated. Additionally, we have a pond for non-potable water. Water sources were a major consideration when we were looking for property.

  42. In my neck of the woods, we have Volunteer Drum. Tons of new and used options. https://volunteerdrum.com/shop/ I use a 333 IBC as part of my rain water catchment system. It originally had molasses in it, so I am fine with storing water in it.

  43. As a guy who has had a couple bad days, I'd suggest any "bad day" kit should focus on stuff for a long walk. 1 - for feet: Comfortable shoes, several pair of socks, moleskin, duct tape, foot powder, extra shoelaces. 2 - hydration: containers w/ at least 3 quarts of water, filter or iodine for more. 3 - clothing: season-appropriate outfit for long walk outdoors, hat, sunblock, and bug spray. 4 - medicine: stuff to treat pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and itching, also a minimal first aid kit and chap stick. 5 - general: TP. Flashlight. Radio. Rope or cord. Multi tool. Map of your area. Compass. Protractor. Money. Some food. An inexpensive general issue assault pack or backpack will normally hold this stuff.

  44. I'm becoming a Walther fanboy myself. Bought a Walther PPQ, Q5, Pro steel frame, with that free money Uncle Sugar sent me a while back. Shoots and feels great with not a hiccup. Now it's an internal fight between another Walther or CZ for the next one?
