  5. Sadly this can apply to a lot of things. I've seen some cases where innocent people are convicted because an "expert" testified to it based on junk science. Bite marks for example. We have a low bar in this country for what makes someone an expert.

  9. Selling a Walther PDP 4" Compact Frame. Includes Dawson Precision front fiber & blacked out rear sights and a new Tier 1 Concealment Axis Elite Holster (Dark Grey). Amazing trigger, extremely accurate, fast recovery time. Holster is new. I considered carrying the Walther recently and then decided to cull the herd to focus more on one platform/pistol manufacturer. After receiving the Tier 1 holster I would say it is the best holster I have used and will be getting another one for my other pistols. Selling for $765. Thanks for looking.

  15. I have a few over/unders and bought this one new about 18mo ago and used it for one round of sporting clays and about three times at a quail preserve. Less than 5 boxes of shells run through her and she looks and functions like new. Excellent condition. $1600 for gun only (no shells included at this price). 26 1/2" barrel and is built on the "baby" platform and shoulders and shoots excellent. I found I just always reach for my old beat up over/under when hunting so this one never gets used. Comes with everything when new: Papers, box, case, 5 chokes, and everything pictured minus the shells. I also have 45 boxes of shells and all my hulls for sale. If you want everything, we can make a deal. These prices seem fair and better than what I'm seeing locally. Estate case @ $140 and Winchester case at $160. Individual boxes of Federal at $15 each and Winchester and Fiocchi at $17 each. Mainly interested in cash but partial trades for: 870 (or similar) home defense or Glock 43X MOS (or aftermarket RDO cut)

  16. I was gifted an inexpensive laser, put in on my P-01, and was amazed. At the range, I zeroed it in at 10-yards to be about 2 inches above my front sight. I was impressed at the shooting results. Certainly makes for combat accuracy and I found no difficulty either seeing my front sight and the red laser point at the same time. Since then, I've been looking for a laser/flashlight combo, and so far the Streamlight TLR-8A G Flex with green laser seems to be my choice, but I'm still looking and considering. I've resisted attaching a flashlight to my pistols, but with aging eyes it now makes sense. I know there are those who would not attach a light for fear of giving away position and recommend the weak-hand holding the flashlight off to the side. Well, I did just that for years as a cop and never found it of benefit. It only weakened my two-hand grip, and tied up both hands, and the bad guys also know that trick. The additional weight is only three ounces, which to me is negligible. I've been shooting a red-dot on my AK that has both red and green. I find I pick up the green much faster in day and night. So I'm entertaining suggestions for other laser/flashlight combos to consider so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  22. After several suggestions and research of those suggestions, I went with an Olight Baldr S with the green laser. I found a great price at less than $100 which gives me enough left over from what I had allocated to get another set of TruGlo TFX Pro sights for another CZ. What sold me on the Olight was the laser is above the flashlight making it closer to the bore. Thanks for your suggestion.

  30. another vote for the TX22 Comp. The gun world seems to be all on the same page that Taurus is a bit of a gamble in terms of quality, however everyone seems to be aligned that there is one exception to that rule and it is the TX-22. Put a Holosun 507 and my rugged oculus on it and it is a blast to rip through mags.

  32. I spent my first 32 years in Sevierville, worked in Pigeon Forge in the mid to late 80s, graduated HS from there, and thought it was the best place to live, but ignorance to tourons was bliss. Fast forward, I had to leave the area for good paying work, not a lot of good paying jobs, tons of jobs though, but nothing to raise a family on and have disposable income left over, that decision was ~25 years ago. I would not live there today or retire there! I do still feel like Sevier county is my home though due to my connections and up bringing. My wife is not originally from there, but still loves the Dollywood thing, she still goes 5-7 times a year, and she does drag me to DW a couple of times per year. We still have ways to navigate the backroads to avoid the traffic. PSA: In the summer months, go to the attractions on Sunday afternoons and evenings, that is when the tourons are transitioning in/out. DW is virtually vacant on Sunday after 3pm, and the Aquarium is like a ghost town after 6pm on Sunday evenings as well, they close at 10pm. Learn to use the trolleys, that is the best way to get around. There is no good time to go the restaurants, but I highly recommend Carver's restaurant in Cosby, its very much like the Apple Barn but for a lot less money, almost same menu (I know of the former chef connection). Its about 25 min from Gatlinburg on 321. Since that area was originally my home, I have lots of family there from both sides, so I do have to visit the area occasionally. I still like to go RV camping at the Greenbrier Island campground once per year between Gatlinburg and Cosby, but I pull my 5th wheel camper through Cosby off of 40, never no traffic. If you must visit Gatlinburg, and you do not want go through the Sevierville 407 traffic and Pigeon Forge, I do recommend the Wilton Springs exit on 40, I think its exit 440, that is about 30 min from Gatlinburg, and no traffic. The only traffic you will encounter is when 321 and 441 meet up in downtown Gatlinburg. If you truly want to see the Smokies, follow my Cosby suggestion or try the North Carolina side, Cherokee or Fontana. Otherwise blend end with the tourons and have patience.

  34. Got my monthly newsletter from CMP today. They said that they have just received a large shipment of .30 carbine, .22 pistol, M2 ball, and .22 Long Rifle surplus ammunition. They are currently inventorying it and expect it to go on sale in the spring. Depending on price and origin, I just might stock up. Watch for it.

  37. Neighbors have these 2 crooks on Ring Doorbell video walking about the area and casing the neighborhood. Crooks cursing looking for pray. What happened to me when I walked to the mailbox that morning. These two victims just happened to arrive home at the wrong time. Me I was caught too far from my home, with a bum knee coupled with lost mobility, and the punks took advantage of my situation. Guys, I don't walk to the mailbox anymore. I will say having the gun saved my bacon that morning. I sure could have been severely beaten like my neighbor was, by 3 druggies cursing looking for easy prey.
