I’m not sure why a balloon is such a big deal when you’re all carrying Chinese spy devices in your pockets.8 points

My surgery was Tuesday (rotator cuff/labrum) and I took my last Oxy Thursday night. I was still having some pain, but I didn't like the weird feeling in my eyes, I was feeling itchy, and I was tired of the worms. I have no idea how people get addicted to that stuff, but everybody is different. Give three guys tequila and one is sleepy, one has the happiest day of his life, and the third wants to fight Hulk Hogan.3 points

Real collectors items now. To bad it was run by crooks that got is shutdown. Left a lot of their suppliers on the hook for many many thousands of dollars. Of course they were horrible to do business with even before the raid but they had some nice products. In the end the only ones that won on that deal were the lawyers.3 points

Interesting piece I took on trade. Friend of mine got this for his HS graduation in 1979 and never fired it. It's a new in box, 1979 Ruger stainless .44 percussion cap black powder revolver, 7.5" barrel, that was the Cadillac of cap and ball pistols back then. Has the papers and factory nipple wrench. I know Taylors & Company makes cartridge conversion cylinders for these. $750 for this one, FTF Murfreesboro/Eagleville area2 points

You don't want either of those Shinkos for mud. I have the 241's on my bike and they're great everywhere except thick mud. They load up in the sticky mud and quickly become useless. I love splashing through the puddles but I stay out of the gooey stuff. You want a really aggressive MX style tire for mud. Big, widely spaced lugs that will clear easily. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kenda-k-760-trakmaster-ii-tires https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shinko-524-525-series-soft-intermediate-tires2 points

I’m currently doing a complete watch of Magnum P.I. (the real one). As to the question of anything semi-current, not that I can tell.2 points

Most of what I would mention has already been mentioned. There doesn't seem to be any real writers anymore. Everything is a copy (remake) of something that has already been done that was successful, or newly written garbage pushing an agenda, or remake of something that was originally successful but now remade and pushing agendas.2 points

You could watch one episode and enjoy it, but it does have a running story line.2 points

For me, the problem with Longmire is that we're supposed to believe this tiny town in Wyoming has a higher murder rate than Chicago. It's basically Law and Order cowboy edition. The characters are likeable though. It's not a bad show to pass the time but I tapped out after a few seasons.2 points

I started looking at the original Shield 2.0 but it was difficult for me to manipulate the slide. I could do it but with quite a bit of effort that might be a problem if I ever needed to do it super quickly. The FFL said it’s a recent release. Kind of an extension to the EZ series!2 points

Yep. If he had shot it down over land and it destroyed a house or business he would be getting crucified for that too. The debris field is covering 7 miles of ocean. There were not a lot of good options. Canada also chose to let it pass through their airspace.2 points

F TV, I’m tired of it. Tomorrow I’m going riding around to gun shops. But I don’t think I can fill out a 4473.1 point

Limbsaver pads are really good. They make slip-ons... https://limbsaver.com/products/airtech-slip-on-recoil-pad...and ones that can be ground to fit your gun (gunsmith needed.) PAST makes great wearable recoil "shields": https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1002531259/1 point

Up for consideration is a CZ75 p01 omega. Has a Cajun Gun Works IDPA production legal decocker kit with combat trigger installed. SP-01 Cajun gun works guide rod also installed. Have 2 other CZ's. Don't need a 3rd. Over $300 in upgrades. Grip tape worn a little. Other than that handgun is in good shape. $710 obo1 point

I'm tired of Beth Dutton and all the memes saying Rip is a real man because he supports his woman no matter what. If Rip were real and had a two digit IQ, he would drop that unstable b*tch like a bad habit. I didn't even start GOT until after it had ended. It just seemed too Dungeons-and-Dragonsish to me. I finally watched the first season and was surprised. I then decided to read the books to figure out exactly who was who. Ha! And I thought the show had a lot going on. After reading all five books, I went back to the show and loved it. I once heard someone ask, "What fictional character would you like to have dinner with?" No brainer - Tyrion Lannister.1 point

No shame in admitting you might need a Nancy pad. Get one of those slip on kinds so you can take it off when not in use.1 point

Yeah, Family Firearms usually is very competitive on firearms. When you add in they do not charge taxes outside of AL, they are often the best price. The only down side I've seen so far is that if they ship it from the warehouse, and your FFL is a small one (i.e. - home based), then the warehouse will ship it to Family Firearms first so the ship time is longer. So if you are in a hurry pay attention to the dark/light green that shows inventory status.1 point

You can call me a kook, but I watch Pluto all the time, mostly Gunsmoke on the Gunsmoke channel. I do have Hulu, Prime, Netflix, Disney, ESPN+, etc., but find my TV 90%+ of the time on the free Pluto watching old shows. Another idea, last year my wife and I watched through Prime All in the Family (Archie Bunker) every episode, about 2 shows per night, and it took 3-4 months to watch them all. I haven't laughed that hard about TV in a long long time. I remember watching as a young person, but now with an old adult mind, it was great to just laugh about certain situations. My wife had never watched, and really enjoyed it. And yes we know it was intended as a parody, but we still laughed and laughed, and I can relate but not always agree to what Archie said. I really do not care about what is on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox, I probably couldn't name a show that is on. I don't get caught up with the talking heads on the news outlets either. I only watch sports and the old shows from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Like I said you can call me kooky!1 point

Might not be your cup of tea, but I really liked “The Blacklist” as well.1 point

I can think of several shows that were pretty good for three seasons or so, and then lost something and became ridiculous. I'm in the minority, but I think Yellowstone has run its course. Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones were (IMO) exceptions.1 point

And that's exactly what happened. 500 mostly pavement miles killed the back tire. My goal this year is to ride a lot more off pavement. It's more fun and I don't have to worry as much about someone killing me.1 point

Obviously, a dual sport bike is a trade off, like a fish and ski boat. It’ll serve two purposes, but not as well as a single purpose built machine. Aggressive dirt bike tires will work better off road, but will suck on pavement. Pavement will also wear the tread down in short order. I can tell you this. If you swap the back tire out for a more aggressively treaded tire, bite the bullet and replace the front one as well. If you get a better grip with the back one, you’re going to be fighting the front one trying to slide out from under you. All that to say I don’t have an answer to your question. LOL!1 point

I have not, but people have suggested it in the past. I prefer a TV series that is more or less one gigantic movie split into episodes and seasons (like say Breaking Bad), as opposed to shows that have nothing to do with last week's episode. Where does Longmire fall?1 point

1 Welcome to TGO. 2 Glad you got everything resolved. I've never had a denial. I'd probably just freak out if I did. 3 Looking at the Equalizer as a possible for my retired ex-nurse wife. I'll show her your comments. It might help her to decide.1 point

(I swear I answered this earlier but I can’t find the post so excuse me if I am repeating myself.) lol I bought the Smith and Wesson Equalizer. I hate the name but I love the gun. It’s easy shooting, handling/manipulating, it fits perfect in my hand, and has extended magazines!!1 point

The Ruger LCR and LCRx 327 are pretty easy to find online right now. Examples: https://www.familyfirearms.com/product/ruger-5452-lcr-327-federal-mag-1.87-6-round-black-hogue-tamer-monogrip-grip-black-matte https://www.familyfirearms.com/product/ruger-5462-lcrx-327-federal-mag-1.87-5-round-black-tamer-monogrip-grip-black-matte Pretty much everything else is sold out or asking ridiculous pricing.1 point

Which is another mystery, why shoot a missile? A few well placed 20mm rounds into the body of the balloon could have made less of a mess of the payload, possibly letting us recover more of it to study.1 point

Mista Garufa answered this one early in the thread. The best handling double action revolver ever built is the " K " frame Smith. We have several, including the unusual 3 inch round butt heavy barrel Model 13 variant. Nothing better for revolver carry. Nothing faster double action. If ya prefer single actions; nothing better than an older Ruger 357 Blackhawk, the original flat tops bein the best. leroy...1 point
