It needs a new home: Smith and Wesson Model 625-2, .45 ACP and Auto Rim, 5-inch barrel, excellent condition. These don't come up for sale often in this condition because many of them from this era have been beaten to death in bowling pin or falling plate matches. No lock, no MIM, just all-round revolver goodness. SOLD Thanks for looking, Whisper5 points

If you have room to nail you could always use a couple of straps and space them a foot or so apart. They are used all of the time for these type of ducts.5 points

my personal opinion is that if the tool is under 200 or so, it’s more valuable to own the tool than to rent it. also, an oscillating tool probably would have been a good choice for this job from start to finish as well. I know it’s too late now, but consider one in the future. I was gonna say the same. My entire ductwork in my attic is strapped up. Ain’t gonna hurt a thing.4 points

I will agree that "your car isn't worth dying for", but who says I'm going to die? I would say the same applies to the would be robber, maybe somebody needs to tell him my car isn't worth him dying for.2 points

It's somewhat funny that an Australia Arms Company bought them. Isn't Australia a anti gun country? Don't they have some of the toughest Gun laws.2 points

The P64, is really an almost direct copy of the Walther PP. Classic pistol design! But 9x18 MAK has to kick like a mule in that pistol!!! Call me a whimp, but .380ACP out of my Walther PPK/s is painful after about 2 mags... The commie pistol I'd like to pick up is the Czech VZ50 or VZ70 in .32ACP (both Walther clones). Now that would be a comfortable caliber to shoot in that type of pistol!!!2 points

"Free" SBR registration means they don't care about the money and they don't want them to be illegal, so they must just want us to register them so they know who owns all the guns. That scares me way worse than the penalty for not registering.2 points

Up for sale is a rifle I never shoot. It is a Browning 71 in 348 Winchester. Of course this is Brownings version of the Winchester 71. These were only made for 2 years, ‘86-‘87. Factory ammo is very expensive but luckily I have a bunch of ammo to go with the rifle. I think I still have the box for the rifle but I am not positive. I have 120 rounds of factory ammo. 40 rounds are new manufacture and 60 rounds are vintage manufacture. Most vintage ammo sells for $140 per box or higher. I also have 220 rounds of reloads. I am selling the reloads as components. So if you reload it gives you a lot of brass and bullets to use. $2500 for everything.1 point

Below we have a used Bersa Thunder 380. Probably 100-200 rounds through it with some light holster wear. It comes with one magazine, the box and a lock. Wanting $275 or am willing to do trades for military surplus guns or a pistol caliber carbine. Cash is an option in a trade if needed. HCP Preferred, and can meet within 45 minutes of Murfreesboro.1 point

Here's the link to the new Cheetah. Not a fan. Why do they feel the need to tacticool everything now-a-days? The original Cheetah was a beautiful pistol. The new one is Fugly (note the capital F). I'm okay with the optic cutout, but that rail under the dust cover just sucks. The back of the grip is too straight. There isn't an elegant line on this pistol. Wood grips would have been much nicer, for $800. One thing they did do right, is slim the grip down, though. I also love the dovetailed front sight. For $800, there should be a night sight on it. 80X Cheetah (beretta.com)1 point

Apparently not. Everyone that has shot it has been very surprised by the noticeable softening/lessing of recoil. I'm not sure of what is going on is precisely or how it operates as I've yet to see an animation of the innards in action. But I have no reason to doubt that something is happening to cause this and it's not pixie dust ,VooDoo chicken bones, or mere fluff. This week at Shot Show others will probably be given the chance to shoot it today as this is "Range Day." So far, three reputable reviewers (Roy Huntington, Will Dabbs, and soocth00 on youtube) have made much of their opinion that the felt recoil has lessened considerably. RIA review by sootch001 point

I'd buy one, just for the Beretta name, but I will not pay that for it. I can't see me paying that for one either, even for the Beretta name, since I like this Tisas so much. The one thing that the Beretta has that the Tisas Fatih does not have, is a decocker. It's manual safety only, just like the original Beretta 84. That doesn't bother me, but I have already been told by one person, that he wouldn't have it because of that. I cut my teeth shooting 1911a1s and they didn't have a decocker either. I just learned how to lower a hammer, on a live round. Or I drop the mag and eject the live round. But I guess that was hard for him...1 point

Thanks, I was wondering if it is a friction based system (no moving mechanical lock).* Apparently not so. However, it would be nice to see a drawing of how this system functions, Thanks for link is was helpful. *The mechanical delayed blowback principle on which it (Thompson Sub Machinegun) operated was made possible by the Blish Block system wsit: Blish not block. I know that guns usually sell for around $100 less that their MSRP prices but it seems after the Covid mess and other things , some places started asking the full MSRP. Not all but some. But still that sure seems high for what it is. As far as the Turkish Fatih pistol. I have held myself back from getting one for a while now. I've saw some good reviews.1 point

You can push .45 SUPER to 10mm energy levels. If 10mm is a good bear gun, I don't see why .45 SUPER wouldn't be. It can be shot out of factory HKs, and can be shot out of a Glock with a few minor modifications. .45 SUPER is kind of niche, and good luck finding ammo for it, but if you reload it can be done. I have both, but still carry a 10mm in the woods. I prefer the 10mm for sectional density/bullet profile both of which equal penetration. You can get hard cast, flat point, wide meplat .45 bullets, but its still a wider, heavier bullet traveling slower, which compromises penetration.1 point

West Knoxville HF didn't have this one in stock so I had to pay a little more for one. I know people like to pick on Harbor Freight but for certain parts they do just fine. I got the hole opened up a hair and got the flex tube fed through. I'm leaning towards installing an access door here similar to Farman instead of replacing with finished sheetrock.1 point

If you bought the brace and pistol already factory assembled new from the gun store, doesn’t the ATF already know what you have? I know there’s laws against national gun registry, but I reckon they have that already and just call it something different. Fed govt is way out of control. I remember G. Gordon Liddy, back in the 90s, calling the ATF Jack-booted thugs. Lately, the FBI had been publicly revealed to have committed many crimes against the citizenry. I could go on and on. Time for some changes.1 point

Civivi is a great option for an inexpensive folder. For a battle belt knife...so many to choose from. Check out the sites mentioned above plus bladehq.com. Any fixed blade in 3V steel is excellent for hard use.1 point

To me, even if the pistol gets magnetized it's temporary, and if small metallic particles are attracted, it's minimal at the worst and would be cleared by cleaning and compressed air as far as I'm concerned. Until testing reveals otherwise, having the ability to hide firearms securely in hidden spots, the benefits outweigh the minuses.1 point

Also remember, for those of us living in TN, SBRs and SBSs are no longer illegal according to the state. Unless you live in one of the liberal cities you don’t have any real concern about local, or state law enforcement enforcing the federal aspect….unless you are doing something else wrong. Similar to CA and CO in regards to drugs, and several states in regards to illegal immigration.1 point
