  1. I have a 1965 Colt .357 python revolver with the 6" barrel in blue steel for sale. To my knowledge, this gun has never been fired. The only obvious alterations from original is where my grandad stamped his name on the butt of the grips which are aftermarket smooth grips. Since the same year make and model of this pistol is selling on gunbroker.com for around $3,500, I'm asking $2,750. I'm in Chattanooga, TN.

  2. Also, you saved a bunch of $$$ over the first crappy bid, still probably saved $$ over the second bid, got a new tool, and a great feeling of accomplishment. Bravo on taking up the challenge.

  6. It needs a new home: Smith and Wesson Model 625-2, .45 ACP and Auto Rim, 5-inch barrel, excellent condition. These don't come up for sale often in this condition because many of them from this era have been beaten to death in bowling pin or falling plate matches. No lock, no MIM, just all-round revolver goodness. SOLD Thanks for looking, Whisper

  7. Here is another rifle that I never shoot. A Marlin 1894 Cowboy in 45 Colt with the octagon barrel. I do not have the box. I am the second owner. It has been shot some but not by me. Appears to have been used very little. $1500

  8. Up for sale is a rifle I never shoot. It is a Browning 71 in 348 Winchester. Of course this is Brownings version of the Winchester 71. These were only made for 2 years, ‘86-‘87. Factory ammo is very expensive but luckily I have a bunch of ammo to go with the rifle. I think I still have the box for the rifle but I am not positive. I have 120 rounds of factory ammo. 40 rounds are new manufacture and 60 rounds are vintage manufacture. Most vintage ammo sells for $140 per box or higher. I also have 220 rounds of reloads. I am selling the reloads as components. So if you reload it gives you a lot of brass and bullets to use. $2500 for everything.

  9. It has been several years since I had a Class 3 Dealers License but I believe the Form 5 was for tax free transfers, such as to a law enforcement agency or to a heir named in a will.

  10. If you want something solid instead of a faux vent, look for a plumbing access panel. This is a smaller one but they come in various sizes. I have a finished storage room behind my media room. I added those access panels on the storage room side of the wall so I have easy access to my in-the-wall cabling connections.

  12. West Knoxville HF didn't have this one in stock so I had to pay a little more for one. I know people like to pick on Harbor Freight but for certain parts they do just fine. I got the hole opened up a hair and got the flex tube fed through. I'm leaning towards installing an access door here similar to Farman instead of replacing with finished sheetrock.

  13. When I’m wavering on a gun purchase, I ask myself, “will I regret walking away from this gun right now? Will it be easier or harder to get it later at this price?” You can always get more money but is your opportunity to buy this gun right now one that you’ll regret if you pass it up?

  15. I had to open up my ceiling to get to the water pressure regulator and knowing a patch would look like a patch I put an A/C return grate up to hide the hole. I used cardboard and duct tape to seal the louvers. Now, if I need to get up there just take down the grate.

  16. I've fired Hornady JHP and Reed Ammo JHP through Makarovs and 82s without a problem. Speaking of ammo, when I bought my Maks and 82s about 20 years ago I laid in a supply of about 3,000 rds of various FMJ brands. It was about 10 cents or less a round. I have enough now to shoot for at least 15 years after I'm dead.

  17. I built all of mine, so all they know is that I bought a lower, but I've lucked up and bought most of my lowers 2nd hand, so only 1 or 2 have a 4473. If I bought a complete AR pistol w/ brace, I fully believe the ATF keeps those records, effectively creating a registry like you said.

  19. I am going to try to use this thread to journal significant changes to TGO's software and configuration of that software, over time. As such I will be the only one who will be posting to it, but you can always link to a certain post (from another) to ask questions or for whatever other purpose you might have.

  20. I sold my 2017 F150 King Ranch Crew Cab and no longer need the safe I installed in the back under the seat. Super heavy duty full length safe will hold several long guns, multiple handguns, or other valuables. Quick access combo lock. Securely bolts to the frame via existing truck bolts. Easy 10" install. Like new. Few external scratches from my garage floor. It's about 75lbs and heavy steel. Pickup in Brentwood or Smithville area. Here is a link to the manufacturer for specifics. https://www.lockerdown.com/i-50-model-ld3025-2009-2022-f150-and-2017-2022-super-duty-f250-f350-f450-crew-cab-under-seat-long-gun-safe.html?ref=category:12 4

  21. Sold For sale is my Tavor SAR. It is the model with the 16" barrel chambered for 556/223. It comes with a Geissele trigger bow, Gear Head Works ejection port cover, and a sling. One mag and cleaning kit are included just as it came from the factory, in the original box. Very low round count on this one. If you really want the original trigger bow or ejection port cover, I can search for them. Trust me - the Geissele and Gear Head Works are significant upgrades! $1400 $1300 in the Mt. Juliet area

  22. It’s been done in the past in every way possible. All kinds of .45 derivatives have been come up with over the years. None caught on in a semi-auto if that’s what you’re looking for.

  27. With the exception of guns I buy simply to hold and make a buck, I try to keep my gun purchases to well-researched guns that the specs, reviews, and my own style suggest an 85% probability that I'll use and enjoy. Today that's possible because reliable gun reviews by knowledgeable people are available with the help of Google (what constitutes reliable and dsknowledgeable people is another discussion). If I am disappointed after the purchase, I put it away for a while and try to decide if it's me or the gun. Sometimes I didn't give it a fair trial, was in a hurry to shoot it rather than learn about it, etc., all things relating to me. Then sometimes, it's just the wrong gun for me. Nobody's fault, just my subjective findings didn't match the reality I was expecting. That's what I discovered 40 years ago about Colt .45 autos and Browning High-Powers. They didn't suit me, and still don't. I do have an FEG HP clone which now is a good shooter I got in a trade, but it could go out the door tomorrow and never again cross my mind. Same with a Colt Police Positive in 32/20 made in 1923. Beautiful gun, but just not me. It too, can go. At one time or another if you buy enough guns, you get one that is just lousy but you hang onto it thinking it will get better. I have found that thinking is like holding on to a sack of cow manure you hope one day will become chocolate chip cookies.

  28. A friend of mine and I went yesterday. The show was well attended but, it depends on what you may be looking for in firearms or accessories. There was a mixture of dealers and private individuals sell items. My friend purchased two very nice O/U shotguns, a Belgium Browning Superposed, 12 gauge and a Ruger Red Label in 28 gauge, from an individual seller. I bought a very nice Ulu knife/sheath from a dealer. There was a smattering of powder but, I didn't see any primers. A couple of dealers had ammo but, it was, as you might imagine, high. One seller, in the South end of the building, had more pre lock S&W revolvers than I have seen in a very long while. They were in very good to excellent condition and priced accordingly but, he was "dealing" and seemed to be selling a few. It may not be worth a drive from an hour or more away but, again, it depends on what you may be look for this day and time.

  30. Might try replacing one of the bricks with a piece of 2x4 to see if you still have clearance, and it won't put as much strain, if any on the HVAC duct work.

  34. I have purchased 3 mdl 617 revolvers which are 7 shot and not a bit of problems with any of them. They are solid and good revolvers. I know some of the first of these revolvers had too close of a tolerance between the front of the cylinder and frame which required a spacer to make them not seize up when getting hot from continual firing. Later models were fine. I never had any trouble with the 3 I have. The revolvers are K frame size, and I can carry any of them in my pocket in an altered nemesis pocket holster. They have 2" brls and rubber grips on them and also the trigger is great out of the box. One is a lightweight alloy frame and in 38Spl only. The other 2 are 38Spl/357 Mag. I also have seen some of the newer revolvers Taurus is making and I like them as well. I highly recommend them. I was one of the "burn me once" guys, for a long time, but have come to see the light on these revolvers and the newer ones.

  35. I have a few magnets with pistols hidden around the house and like them. I am thinking about adding one to my Polaris Ranger, but may just put an overhead gun rack in it and carry a rifle instead of a pistol.

  38. I know I generally see it in regards to firing pins and having to do with primers and other debris around firing pin channels and the parts below them. For me personally, it’s a risk I’d rather not take. My gun in my holster on my person.

  39. "Free" SBR registration means they don't care about the money and they don't want them to be illegal, so they must just want us to register them so they know who owns all the guns. That scares me way worse than the penalty for not registering.

  41. $1650. Badass upper on a great lower. This thing rips. Comes with the Radian Charging Handle as shown, and the Forward Controls Flash Hider. Aimpoint is not included at this price but can be bought if you’re interested. Also will come with a BCM BCG unless you want to buy the Lantac BCG that is pictured for an additional 150.

  42. Hi Whisper, I'm a new transplant from Southern California - our family of five came to Chattanooga without knowing a soul here. I fought the good fight on the Left Coast, served in elected office as the President of a local Board of Education, own and operate a successful but heavily oppressed gun shop, and was a guest speaker in local churches. Once we realized our home state was truly unsalvageable, I began a nationwide search for the ideal place to settle for my future generations, with an eye towards a 3-5 year plan. That 3 year plan became a 3 month plan, as our home value skyrocketed and I realized that *now* was the time, as my three kids are all still at home with us, but in 3-5 years we might have one married or otherwise tied to the area. Having the whole family mobile at a time when our home had gained $1M in equity was the right timing, as uncomfortable as it was to move on short notice. I'm a very studious person - I love detailed research and data-driven decisions backing up prayerful consideration. In looking at the whole of the nation - every state, every region - Chattanooga rose to the undisputed top of the list. Tennessee for obvious reasons, but Chattanooga offers the very best of the Volunteer State's advantages, for our tastes and desires, with any drawbacks minimized. I founded my firearms business in CA 8 years ago. After a layoff from the building materials industry when things slowed in 2012, I returned to my military roots and began gunsmithing (I got my GS Cert at SDI after I left the service) out of my home. What was intended to be a side job while I found my next career ended up being so successful, I *had* to open a brick and mortar. It has been a wonderful ride. My shop remains open in CA, but I am removed from daily operations. My staff handles everything including the local gunsmithing operations under the man who apprenticed under me. I am here now in Harrison Bay and I'd be happy to take a look at anything you need done. I don't have a lathe here like at the shop, so my barrel and round rod machine work is limited, but I have all my skill and a second set of most of my specialty tools. In any case, gunsmithing or not, I sure would like to meet like-minded people who are also looking for a new network of local friends. - David
