  7. That was a BIG win for TCU! I thought Michigan had a legitimate chance to win the championship. It's great to see a smaller school move up.

  10. Texas Rangers circa 1907, that's Frank Hamer on the top left with his 1894 Winchester. Along with police officers from Louisiana and Texas, Hamer was the man that brought down Bonnie & Clyde. The man sitting bottom right with the Luger is John H. Rogers, the man that hired Hamer into the Rangers. Hamer used a Remington model 8 chambered in .35 Remington in the roadside ambush of Bonnie & Clyde.

  14. Once it is properly registered, you can put any upper you want on it. Shorter, longer, other calibers etc... you just have to be able to return it to the registered configuration. ie, parts still owned by you. Not your immediate person.

  18. I can attest to this! I've had a Taurus 605 revolver for years, for about the first box of ammo was with the factory wood grips...it was brutal. Changed the grips to a set of Hogue and it helped immensely. At one time Taurus had a deal going that they would port the barrel and do an action job for $50.00, I couldn't resist. When I got the revolver back I was literally stunned. The porting did a lot to help tame the recoil and the action job they did was outstanding! That little 605 has a dbl & single action trigger that I would stack up to any revolver, absolutely like glass, I've owned Pythons that weren't as impressive.

  19. Certainly glad for your favorable outcome…but it sucks knowing your future lies in the hands of others. That is why studying all one can about SD helps one from being in that situation. Learning by experience is not the preferred method. Unfortunately, most people now charged with felony assault thought they were doing the right thing and never fired a shot. Avoidance is the # 1 plan. I would rather take a butt whooping than pull my gun, that will heal faster than my bank account.

  24. I have a black powder pistol along with everything needed for a range day with it, powder, ball, caps, cleaning supplies everything. The pistol is a Pietta 1851 confederate navy revolver. it has maybe 50 rounds through it otherwise it has been a safe queen. I additionally have a amish made black felt fedora and a reenactment esque knife as the last vestiges from my reenacting days I am selling along with it. I will attach pictures and I am more than willing to answer questions about the items individually however I will be selling the items as a complete set. I am looking for cash so no trades will be entertained. Nothing is wrong with any of the items included in this block so far as I am aware and again I am more than happy to answer questions or provide better pictures on request. I am asking $275 for the block.

  25. as far as the amish made hat I do not know what community made it. I purchased it from the maker there at a reenactment (they had a booth where they made and sold there on site) in KY for the battle of Perryville back in 2009 or so.

  26. None so far. But I did find it necessary to show my gun many times in law enforcement and twice as a citizen to avoid being robbed. I did investigate SD shootings as a detective, took evidence to the DA and Grand Jury, and testified in trials I also learned that most (the majority) of law enforcement officers know almost zero about the legal conditions and ramifications of SD events and their advice is rarely correct. I have no reason to believe that knowledge has improved with the majority of police today. Most lawyers have about the same level of knowledge. It takes a special lawyer who does as it's not in the wheelhouse of criminal defense lawyers. My knowledge of the legal ramifications of self-defense are from my studies. It's easy to find that knowledge. All you need to do is want to learn it. Where did you learn about it?

  29. I only own one .22 cal suppressor. But a couple of years ago I did get to thinking about what to do with it when I pass. You only have 2 options. You can file the paperwork and have them transferred to you. Then you can legally sell them. IIRC there is no charge to do this as they are inherited. But check that just to be sure. Or, you can surrender them to ATF. In my case, mine is a cheap .22 suppressor and not worth much. It just ain't worth the hassle of going through all the paperwork. I've instructed my sons to simply surrender it. I also discovered that there is very little market for used suppressors. Even in like new condition, they don't bring much. You may want to research the value of those used suppressors and see what they're worth. Then decide if its worth the time and trouble. I found this article: https://www.silencershop.com/blog/post/sell-silencer BTW: tell your friend to get those suppressors back right NOW! Otherwise they may both end up in jail for a long time! The friend of your friend is breaking the law by simply having them in his possession.

  31. Nope. As long as it starts as a pistol or receiver, or anything other than a “rifle”, it can be assembled into a rifle configuration and back out again however much you choose with no issues at all.

  33. Striker for carry Hammer for range Although for IDPA striker still wins. That is because the precise light trigger pull of a hammer fired gun is of small value when running and gunning Not having to deal with an external safety while drawing or holstering is an advantage — for me at least JMO, your mileage Mary vary
