  1. That's my biggest battle right now. My wife has issues that are worse than mine, and I struggle to better myself for her sake.

  3. Good day, my friends and brothers in arms. I took a hiatus from the forum for the better part of this year. Lots of reasons, none really worthy of detailing or complaining about here. A few know some things, but that's not relavent to this commentary. Just say I'm getting better and am attempting a "comeback" of sorts. So I'm sitting here today, just reading all the threads, past and present; when I stumble across the "Leaderboard" section. Of course I'm familiar with the daily and weekly scorekeeping. It's fun to watch, and lets us know the true diehard members here. But as I went deeper into it, I ran across thos older threads that I hadn't seen for a long while. It was illumuninating, to say the least. Those that made me remember just what a tremendous place and experience TGO really is. I read of new additions to family, and loss as well. Loss of wonderful people. Steelharp always come to mind for me, but too many others as well. Praise for good deeds that went unnoticed by some, and raved about by others. I saw the pride in childrens' accomplishents; like Links posting of his son's graduation, of Tercel89 telling of the pride in his son saving a life with CPR, the times we have all thanked veterans, bought meals and taken checks at dining places. The times that help was volunteered without being asked. Several in particular had me in tears re-living the events. I won't mention names. It's not necessary. When a brother was in need and selling his weapons...help was immediate and plentiful. When some medical bills for some, and vet bills for others were piling up...help came again. If you know...you know. People here step up! That is a constant. It's what makes this a great community. One that I missed and am proud to be a small part of. So as I make my way back, in many things; I just want to remind us all what a wonderous thing we have here. Something built by David, the Admin Staff, and each and every individual that comes in. A place for comfort and comaraderie, a place of knowledge sharing and humor. A place to be valued and prized.

  6. As Session looms in the offing, the makeup of the committees in the House are being decided at this time. The chosen to sit in judgment on your right to arms makes a huge difference in whether restoring the intent of the Founders gets a chance to be heard. The individual who makes those appointments is Cameron Sexton. The Speaker has eyes on the Governor's mansion in 2026, and as the savvy politician he is, he is looking to build coalitions to ride on for that coming race. Now is the time to reach out respectfully and alert him to the fact that the populace has been watching the courts, and expect the State to agree with SCOTUS and return to the laws and principals in the era of ratification of the Constitutions which Bruen mandates as the only metric that can be used to infringe, (which is what government does, God gave us rights, government restricts them.) The recent case U.S. v Perez-Gallan states it perfectly, actions of government must align with the Nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation. As our analog of that time said the free men of this state have a right to keep and bear arms for the common defense (1796) the current statutes regarding "intent to go armed" being an "offense/crime" are unconstitutional. Letters, e-mails and calls to his office politely requesting the make up of Civil and Criminal Justice committees to be constructed with a view to positioning members who are Constitutionally minded instead of driven by the Chamber of Commerce are needed.

  7. If I was to make a list of the times I have been in the hospital it would read more like a book. Ever since I got hit by that track back in 1978 I have been in the hospital 11 times. I have had 6 Hernia surgeries, which finally ended my ability to work. I had a stroke in 2000, a heart attack in 2006 and got 2 stints put in. abdominal aortic aneurysm in 2015 that got stinted and then the heart attack and double bypass in 2019. I may have missed something but I think folks can get the idea. I really don't like hospitals. I don't remember exactly when I made my Will and my Living Will but I also made and paid for my burial so my family will not have to make those decisions. I have had doctors tell me I am a walking medical miracle and I tell them no, I'm still here by the grace of GOD.

  10. For sale is my Springfield XDM 3.8 Compact. This was recently replaced by something a little smaller. I’ve fired ~400 rounds through this with zero malfunctions. Asking $500 FTF with permit flash. Located in Cleveland, but I don’t mind driving within a reasonable distance to accommodate a sale. Comes with 3 mags, the stock hip holster as well as a basic iwb holster.

  11. Great condition. I added a Lone Wolf barrel with better chamber support so that I could shoot the hotter 10mm ammo. There is noticeably less deformation with the Lone Wolf barrel. Factory barrel is included too. Has an Overwatch Precision trigger, extended take down lever, and Ameriglo tritium 3 dot night sights. Also including a multicam Kydex chest holster. This is a really solid package at a great price. I have the original box with the different backstraps.

  13. Woke up with some discomfort and tightness in my chest Sunday morning. Went to E R at St Thomas West, in Nashville, Sunday afternoon. Monday afternoon I had to have 4 additional stents put in my veins around my heart. Now have had double bypass, with 9 stents. Feel lucky to be her on this Thanksgiving Day. Am having a great day although kinda sore. I am now 74, and want to tell you that one better have made spiritual provisions for your death, and most of all where your soul will spend eternity. My soul will be with my savior Christ Jesus in the next realm(realm of departed spirits(Paradise) if Christ don't come first. Search and find out where your souls will go before it is too late. When you get to the next realm it will be too late to change your fate. I have done the things necessary for me to be able to take advantage of God's saving Grace which He freely will give to all who follow His Son Jesus. This is serious guys. I would be glad to help you if you can get in touch with me in Lascassas TN.

  14. Actually got to see and touch one of these at a private auction in the late 90s. I liked it. The look and feel was perfect for me. I thought I saw a lot of the P-38 influence in the design. No...I didn't even attempt to bid. Way out of my league!

  17. I agree with Garufa but if that is not a viable option I would do B or C. Definitely not A. Don't put a new barrel on this. It's a historical piece and they aren't making them anymore. In case you can't tell from the above, I also don't agree with the development of historical land and old battlefields. And I damn sure don't agree with taking down our monuments......... But that is for another discussion.

  24. While I am in no rush, it is very comforting to think about, "what's the best thing that will happen to all who accept Christ?" I agree with keeping an eye on your health and making changes. Since my wife's stroke, I have more motivation to stay as healthy as possible... I've got a whole lot of responsibility to serve her.

  29. I had open heart surgery that required five bypasses, as I was preparing for that, my heart surgeon wanted to run a couple of more tests cause I was so low on blood, long story short also have stage four Colon Cancer and stage Four Liver Cancer. I always said go big or go home, that was two years ago last month. They gave me a Five year window to beat the Cancer, I've been on Chemotherapy Treatments for two years now twice a month. I hear you on making peace with God and I've done that, so hopefully when my time comes I'll be able to stand before him and hopefully he will let me in. A little quote I have is: "WHEN MY TIME COMES, I'LL SING MY DEATH SONG AND GO HOME LIKE A WARRIOR TO BE WITH MY BROTHERS AND FAMILY." I've carried this Case Knife daily ever since I got that digonases on the Cancer. Glad your doing good and still around, God bless and take care sir.

  30. I owned one for a few years and recently sold it. I had a few minor complaints: it was oversprung for the ammo I was using, and it shot much too high with the iron sight installed. I think they might ship with two different spring weights now but at the time, I didn’t want to shoot it badly enough to go chase one down. The rear sight was a nonissue for me because I used a RDS instead. The holster they included was junk and never worked right for me. I also didn’t care for the trigger shape was it tended to cause my finger to drag along the bottom of the guard. But all that aside, I think they are a good value and are a quality product.

  31. Thanks, Sleep profit. I appreciate the comments. Flashy? Yes, it is. I'd have to go with the Black/Gold option. But I understand there's an all black available as well. But even so, it's not as flashy as my dearly departed Taurus "Pimp Gun." A 1911 in high gloss black and all polished gold trigger, hammer, and slide release. It was awesomely beautiful. Wish I still had it. LOL.

  32. I really like it my friend has the elite combat model. seems both have same trigger but rival has longer slide so in theory it’s more accurate. I like the mag well. It has been cleared to complete in Pistol competition came in hard case and optic ready. And it looks great has cutout’s in slide Con. It doesn’t have a ported barrel I wish it did it has a lot of mussel flip. I used a old nonworking. Olight poured full of lead to give it weight and keep it down and I wish it came with 3 mags Accurate pistol and yes I like it looking flashy LOL

  33. Yes. And gotten higher priced as well. One of the few smart things I did was to buy all I could afford when I found them. And thankfully the mags are almost universally interchageable between the models. Sort of like Glock mags. All my mags have been OE but for a mistake I made back in the summer. I found an ad for Canik mags dirt cheap...like sub 20 bucks. Ordered a bunch. But didn't investigate the seller beforehand. Seller had bad ratings and seemed rather shady in his actions. I got scared and started overloading his email with qestions about when I'd get the mags or should I just ask for a refund. Well, I actually got 8 mags finally. But all were ProMag and not Canik manufacture. There were some who got nothing I'm told. If I can find the address, I'll post it as a warning. Since I had had little luck and love for ProMag...I tested them quickly. They seemed to function ok. Sometimes requiring a hard slap to lock in. Some didn't drop freely, almost had to pull them out. But I got 4 out of the bunch I'll trust as a last resort. But even these I really will only use for range shooting.

  36. I had one and sold it to fund another purchase a few years back. It was a splendid shooter and probably the best factory pistol trigger I have used. Be warned mags have been notoriously hard to find here recently.

  37. Well...I'm on record here with my opinion of Canik and all the models therein. LOL. Been a big fan since I first bought one for sub 250 from a little distriutor just because of the price. As has been said, Great pistols. Fantastic triggers. Extremely easy to shoot and look good doing it. In the last 16-18 monts, more and more people are discovering the Canik and its quality. That's why the prices have been steadily rising. Try finding one of the early models...the T100 series. Sellers couldn't give them away. l missed out on those, but got in on the origional TP9. It shoots as well as the latest models. Few people will ever regret buying a Canik pistol, I haven't Won't tell you how many I have now. It's embarassing. Just buy it and love it. "Nuff said.
