  1. Good day, my friends and brothers in arms. I took a hiatus from the forum for the better part of this year. Lots of reasons, none really worthy of detailing or complaining about here. A few know some things, but that's not relavent to this commentary. Just say I'm getting better and am attempting a "comeback" of sorts. So I'm sitting here today, just reading all the threads, past and present; when I stumble across the "Leaderboard" section. Of course I'm familiar with the daily and weekly scorekeeping. It's fun to watch, and lets us know the true diehard members here. But as I went deeper into it, I ran across thos older threads that I hadn't seen for a long while. It was illumuninating, to say the least. Those that made me remember just what a tremendous place and experience TGO really is. I read of new additions to family, and loss as well. Loss of wonderful people. Steelharp always come to mind for me, but too many others as well. Praise for good deeds that went unnoticed by some, and raved about by others. I saw the pride in childrens' accomplishents; like Links posting of his son's graduation, of Tercel89 telling of the pride in his son saving a life with CPR, the times we have all thanked veterans, bought meals and taken checks at dining places. The times that help was volunteered without being asked. Several in particular had me in tears re-living the events. I won't mention names. It's not necessary. When a brother was in need and selling his weapons...help was immediate and plentiful. When some medical bills for some, and vet bills for others were piling up...help came again. If you know...you know. People here step up! That is a constant. It's what makes this a great community. One that I missed and am proud to be a small part of. So as I make my way back, in many things; I just want to remind us all what a wonderous thing we have here. Something built by David, the Admin Staff, and each and every individual that comes in. A place for comfort and comaraderie, a place of knowledge sharing and humor. A place to be valued and prized.

  2. This is a sweet rifle but really wanna lesson the .308 rifles I have. This is a 16” heavy fluted 308. Has a 1.5lb Timney trigger. The action is a Rem 700 trued action. The whole barreled action was done by Tim At Crescent and the McMillan Adj A-5 stock was bedded by GA Precision. Tye barrel is set up for an AEM5 (30 cal) can. The stock is molded in GAP camo. Badger rail up front and even set up for irons. What you see is what you get except for the chair. Very nice rifle. $2500 I will offer the rifle already set up as a package for another $1000 with a US Optics ST-10. Total package for $3500

  3. I had open heart surgery that required five bypasses, as I was preparing for that, my heart surgeon wanted to run a couple of more tests cause I was so low on blood, long story short also have stage four Colon Cancer and stage Four Liver Cancer. I always said go big or go home, that was two years ago last month. They gave me a Five year window to beat the Cancer, I've been on Chemotherapy Treatments for two years now twice a month. I hear you on making peace with God and I've done that, so hopefully when my time comes I'll be able to stand before him and hopefully he will let me in. A little quote I have is: "WHEN MY TIME COMES, I'LL SING MY DEATH SONG AND GO HOME LIKE A WARRIOR TO BE WITH MY BROTHERS AND FAMILY." I've carried this Case Knife daily ever since I got that digonases on the Cancer. Glad your doing good and still around, God bless and take care sir.

  4. I’ve wanted to try msfs for several years, and I’ve finally taken the leap. It seems that it’s going to be challenging, but fun. I have two hardware setups for my HP Omen pc. One for msfs (Turtle Beach Velocity One) and one for DCS (Thrustmaster T Flight Full Kit X) . I also have a HP Reverb G2 V2 that should be here tomorrow for VR sims. What’s your setup? What advice would you offer to a noob getting into flight sims? Thanks!

  7. I bought one of these from another TGO member last year and love it. I bought another one for a Christmas Present and just found out my son wants a different firearm so Im switching direction. This just was delivered this week, so I thought I would give TGO members a chance at it. I really like this eject mechanism can be flipped to the left hand side. It also has a threaded barrel. It takes GLOCK mags, and the caliber can be changed out easily with TNW Caliber kits. This one is in Dark Earth and comes whith what is seen in the picture. Really fun to shoot. Price is $700. Really want to sell it but I do have a wish list that includes Walther PDP SD Pro or Langdon Beretta RDO or Beretta M9A4 all in 9mm. Obviously I have cash to compensate. Must be legal to buy this in Tn. Will need to see Tennessee Drivers license and must fill out a Bill of Sale. 8. Woke up with some discomfort and tightness in my chest Sunday morning. Went to E R at St Thomas West, in Nashville, Sunday afternoon. Monday afternoon I had to have 4 additional stents put in my veins around my heart. Now have had double bypass, with 9 stents. Feel lucky to be her on this Thanksgiving Day. Am having a great day although kinda sore. I am now 74, and want to tell you that one better have made spiritual provisions for your death, and most of all where your soul will spend eternity. My soul will be with my savior Christ Jesus in the next realm(realm of departed spirits(Paradise) if Christ don't come first. Search and find out where your souls will go before it is too late. When you get to the next realm it will be too late to change your fate. I have done the things necessary for me to be able to take advantage of God's saving Grace which He freely will give to all who follow His Son Jesus. This is serious guys. I would be glad to help you if you can get in touch with me in Lascassas TN.

  15. I've been casting bullets (and sinkers) since 1973. I cast for everything I shoot, excepting the rimfires. I shoot more handgun bullets than I do rifle, but have a stockpile of rifle bullets as well as the data for the loads that I worked up. Now that I'm "retired" (Involuntarily! and due to that darn China virus "epidemic") I've been exercising my rifle with cast projectiles a bit more. I prefer the iron molds from Ideal, Lyman, RCBS, or Saeco. I tried the Lee molds, but never could warm up to them. WYT-P Skyhunter

  16. Sold. I’ve got a cool little scope up for sale I no longer need. It’s a Weaver 1-3 power scope with a nice aftermarket throw lever attached. Had it on a kids .22 and added a scope with a little more power for him. Scope has some ring and handling marks noted in pics, but glass is clear and functions great. Nice made in Japan scope. $100 in South Nashville or North Franklin.

  20. If I were looking for a Glock .45acp, I'd be all over this!!! I wish it was a 19 or a 45 (you know what I mean. ). That's what I'm looking for now, since I picked up my Ruger PCC. I want the mag commonality, between my pistol and my rifle. GLWS!!!

  25. Sadly, there may be folks (I hope not) on here that still may not know the reference. Definitely, there are younger folks out there, not on here that will not know what “Fat Man” refers to. And they probably wouldn’t even think “you mean the one with Jake”

  27. Accurate 2520 has served well with 55 gr. bullets in a bolt action with 1/12 twist. Look for loads with powders you have on hand before you search (in vain?) for a new powder. The old IMR standbys will turn up as well as the newer ball powders. I used AA2520 because I had plenty of it on hand.

  28. Service rifle shooters love Varget but hard to meter, and hard to find. H335 was an original powder for the 5.56mm cartridge, meters great, but you have to watch temperature sensitivity for competitive shooting. But for plinking its great. I load a lot of my Service rifle practice rounds for 200-300 yard stages and use H335..... FWIW

  29. There are clips, and then there are magazines. In any case, it should not damage either one to keep them loaded. Springs wear from being cycled, not from being compressed.
