  1. I hate that you got scammed like that, but I greatly appreciate that you posted this warning. On a general note, this is a good opportunity to say this again for anyone who reads this thread. Anytime a business website does not have a standard payment processor system in place and asks for payments through Zelle, Cashapp, Paypal Friends & Family, etc it is a scam. When dealing with individuals you have to choose your own level of risk comfort. No legitimate business operates that way. Full stop.

  2. I think it was Chuck Taylor who said “Beware of the man with one gun.” I don’t see anything wrong with switching from one platform to another for a while. But the guy who carries a CZ on Monday, a Glock on Tuesday, a 1911 Thursday, and a J-frame Saturday is not helping himself.

  3. Hey TGOers, *March, 3 2023: Didn't follow up on this original post much since I didn't really want to sell it, lol. Ready to give it a proper chance. Final price. Thanks!* Letting go of this nice single action 1873 clone. Basically identical to the Colt SAA down to the four click hammer cock. Just to be safe, let me repeat, this is a SINGLE ACTION so anyone looking for a modern revolver should look elsewhere, lol. Bought this off a great forum member early this year and had a ball with it all summer. Functions flawlessly, locks up tight, and disassembles like it should. Will include a few dozen rounds of 45 LC cowboy loads. Selling to help fund my next A.D.D. obsession, lol. Ftf in or around Middle TN, HCP flash required. Thanks! -V

  4. Every one of these has come from here. Including my every first 1911 all those years ago. (The stainless Remington). I hope to add two Dan Wessons 2A's to the group by my birthday next year.

  5. They've got this site up and running this month. When buyer attempts to pay with credit card, the buyer is told they only accept Zelle. Seemed like a legit website and I didn't find the business as flagged as a scammer. So, I sent money for a gun. Have since discovered it's a scam website. Lesson learned... 11. I made a trip up there this morning. While their supply isn’t back to normal, they did have a fairly decent supply of powder and projectiles. More rifle powder than shotgun/pistol. I got a pound of IMR3031 and some 38 bullets. I wanted a pound of IMR4350, but all they had was one 8# jug. I left it for someone who needs it worse than I do. Not a primer in sight.

  14. While searching the web on my phone last night for ammo deals (looking for 6.5 Grendel) I came across a site (www.ammozdepot.com) that had some really good prices on Wolf. In retrospect, too good. Still, I put an order in my cart, then saw that there was a minimum "$150" order. So, I put some 300BO in the cart to get the order up to the minimum. going to the checkout, they offer PayPal as a payment choice (Cool I think), but they also offer Zelle. Hmm, I think. My Spidy Senses start tingling and I decide to look for reviews on this site. I find some "Scam Check" sites that say ok things and some that say bad things. I then find a posting to Pay Pal from someone who felt they were scammed by the site. They placed a order and then were asked to use F&F to make the payment. They did and never heard back from the web site. I then got onto some other gun forums and found more references to the site as being a scam. I backed away and called it good. Today I went back and looked at the site again. Initially, it looks to be a well put together site. They say all the right things to get you to believe it is legit. But as you look deeper, it looks to be almost an AI generated site or a template web site that has been modified just enough to "look" legit. When you get deeper into the site, much of the "Text" associated with the pages is Latin gibberish. Anyway, avoid Ammozdeals.com. If you run across any other scam sites, let's post them so we keep our folks safe.

  15. Remington 870, asking $500.00 Used but excellent condition 20” 12 GA Remington 870 SPS 7+1 for sale, best guess is that it has 150 - 200 shot shells through it in its lifetime. Modified with a Surefire 618LMG-B LED Forend Weaponlight (MSRP $600.00), TacStar 6 shell side saddle, and a Knoxx Spec Ops stock. Still have original parts and owners manual. As you can in the photos the momentary pressure pad on the forend has some wear (more than anything just from sitting around it seems) but still works perfectly fine.

  19. I'm 18, I've been shooting guns since I was 10, and I'm finally at that magical age where I can purchase them myself. I know there is not much restriction on long arms at 18, but handguns obviously have quite a few, and in terms of having a gun for self defense I just prefer a handgun, so I had a few questions and was hoping you all could help me out. I know 18 year olds cannot purchase a handgun through a licensed seller and must go through a private seller in order to do so, and I know that you have to be 21 (or military) to carry a handgun but what other possession restrictions are there? Specifically: 1. Can I keep it in my car? If so are there certain requirements for storing it other than common sense gun safety? 2. Can I take it to the range? 3. Will I be able to purchase ammo for it? It is my hope that they lower the carry age to 18, but it was also my hope when I was 16 that they lower the voting age, and right now the bill to lower the carry age to 18 passed the house but there hasn't been movement in the senate since april. Thank you in advance for the help and sorry if this is a duplicate topic. P.s. looking forward to being a forum member on here! - Oliver

  26. Yep that indeed is an Osage Orange. Some might call it Bodock which come from the French Bois d’arc (bow wood) because the Osage Native Americans used the wood for bows, Comanche were also know for using it for bows. Prevalent across the mid south into Texas due to planting. Also referred as Hegde Apples as it’s very common along fence rows because it’s very sturdy.

  30. Oh, it is know what they consider important...TV ratings and how well fan bases travel. It helps to understand when you view this as a production first, and a meritocracy second. The week to week ratings they release are just to gin up content, and interest. Putting in 2x SEC teams is usually a high bar, and one they'll use spur ratings in the regular season. This year has been fantastic for such. Bama and Tennessee taking 2 losses made a TSU or USC bid likely. If Bama had won out after the Tennessee loss and won the SEC Championship, both they and Georgia would be in. With the SEC teams really eating their own this year, the Big XII and PAC-12 have a good chance to each get a team in. Clemson's current abilities finally out-stinking their past glory facilitates this as well.

  35. This would be the correct classification if they transferred in without an upper attached. These are receivers, not complete firearms so they are not a pistol or a rifle. That means they are 100% neutral with regards to how you choose to build them.

  39. When I walk into a place of business, I don't stop and scan the storefront for a posting. If I happen to see a sign I'll take note, but I'm not pausing before I go in to look. I know I have walked into a place of business and noticed a posting on the way out that I didn't see on the way in. At the end of the day, don't do anything stupid while you are in there and there is a 99.9% chance nothing will happen, as long as you are concealed. I've talked to several local officers, the Police Chief, and the Sheriff of my town. We are semi-rural and they have all told me that they aren't looking to cause trouble with people carrying past a properly posted place, as long as the property owner doesn't push too hard. If the property owner demands action, they will have to charge you with something, because it is the law. Even then you may not be convicted, or likely reduced down to something much less severe. All that being said, your mileage may vary, and it all depends on the local attitude of law enforcement, the DA, and the Judges. I would say things like this could have drastic different outcomes when you compare my relatively small town with places like Nashville and Memphis.

  41. During the life of the Ruger P89 , Ruger offered a combo package with the P89 in 9mm and an extra barrel inside the case chambered in 30 Luger. It didn't do too well. Most all p89 owners never used the 30 Luger barrels as far as I know. But I'm sure all these newer young gun owners are eager to try the 30 Super because it's new and offers slightly more capacity. I keep things simple and try to carry what is readily available anywhere in the US . I recently got a Glock 29 in 10mm thats not as common as 9 , .40 , and 45 BUT,,,,,, it also shoots .40 very reliably with no modifications. As a TGO member mentioned earlier , it would be nice to see a firearm designed AROUND the 30 Super instead of an EXISTING firearm being converted to 30 Super. The slide and frame could be extremely thin and very concealable.
