OK, here are some photos. I need to give her a good clean and lube then see how well she shoots. I love how they take-down. I didnt realize at first that they did. Not too shabby for an Octogenarian. Rust on the barrel "Patina" on the receiver.

I couldn’t wait to post so pics will be forthcoming. A buddy gave (sold me at a great price) me his dad’s 1936 Winchester Model 63 (which was left to him) It appears to be in good functioning condition. Most of the bluing if off the receiver (I think the term is “Patina”) The barrel still has some bluing, but it does have a spot or two of rust on the surface. I will need advice on how I should handle the rusty patches. It is missing the rear dovetail sight but has a Marble Tang Peep Sight. The rear dovetail sight may have been removed years ago. The wood stock and forend are in good condition for an 86 year old rifle. Definitely has wear and marks in the wood “Character”. I will get photos uploaded when I get home.

Went to the Gun show here in Dickson today. My expectations were pretty low as the shows have been showing more non-gun stuff and less guns for a few years now. It blew my mind when I came upon the "Holy Grail" of target .22 rifles. That being a Winchester Model 52 with a bull barrel and a Marble - Goss peep sight. According to the serial number, the rifle was made in 1931 which was the classic era and timeframe for their production. Got it for an excellent price, too as the gentleman was selling it for his father-in-law and the owner told him what to price it at and that's where it stayed. What makes this sweeter for me is that about 4 years ago, at the show in Murfreesboro, I found one of these "tack-drivers" for a much higher price and I tried to be "cute" and played a game of walking away to appear uninterested. During my little game, another buyer swooped in and bought it. I did find a good deal that same day on a Winchester 75, which is the little brother of the 52 but have kicked myself ever since. So, this is scratching an itch I have had for a while. Anyway, thanks for listening to my little rah-rah story.

1994 Ruger M77 Mark II in 7mm Magnum. Comes with Ruger integrated scope rings. Took this on trade from a good friend who bought it new in '94 to hunt elk. It's probably had no more than a few boxes ran through it in its 28 years. Been sitting in his safe. Nice example of one of the early Mark II's, nice patina to the walnut, a few minor hunting nicks, nothing bad. Tried to show the few on the magazine floor plate. SPF Have 15 rounds to go with it. I have 3 carry belts I no longer use or need. First up is the Ares gear belt. It’s the nicest and stiffest belt. Worn maybe 10-12 times. Size medium. $50 in the cool springs area. Second up is Blue Alpha Gear belt. Maybe worn 2-3 times total. Size 34. $15 in the cool springs area. SOLD Last is a Wilson combat black belt. It’s been worn the most but still a great belt. Size 38. $15 in the cool springs area.

Both in Excellent Cond. Belt size 46. Loops fit 45 Long Colt and is a few years old. Holster is about forty years old and fits Colt SAA and it's clones Ruger,Beretta and many others. It is for 4/58" barrel. Holster came from a movie set that I used to supply period holsters to. .45 Colt ammo in loops has no powder or primer as required on movie sets and cowboy shows. Buckle is your small cowboy type. Also fits Ruger Single Six. $6o for complete rig,cap gun can go with it but it not a good fit. Local pickup. This is not the low slung holster like the gunfighters have in westerns,but more what a cowboy rig was really like.

Hello, I have enjoyed and read these forums for a long time and finally decided to join. I have lived in East TN most of my life. I have been shooting close to 30 years and really like shooting steel targets, well really any day spent shooting is a great one.

I heard a story years ago that Annie Oakley used wax bullets with shotgun shot mixed in the wax when she did shots in arenas and other public places. It gave her a better chance of hitting her target and stray bullets were not a problem. I wonder if that was what the rodeo parade shooter was doing.

That’s a neat old rifle. Bet it’s still as accurate as when it was made. As mentioned, 0000 steel wool and plenty of oil on those nasty rust spots….gently. The bluing there is likely gone but no need to srub the rest of it off.

Good eye and you're correct. The paperwork that it came with said Bull but after research it is standard target which is .75" at end.. The Bull is .875" diameter at end of barrel. Very cumbersome to carry but ridiculously accurate.

A few years ago i called all summer and fall i tried finding an outfit to install gutters. It was a decent sized job, 3000²ft house. Not one si gle person ever showed up to even do an estimate. Later that year in the dead of winter, snow cover of 2', i saw a guy putting gutters on a snow covered house. I pulled over and got his info. I figured if he was hungry enough to hang gutters after shoveling a roof off in the freezing cold, he'd be happy for work. And he actually showed up and did the work. To the original post, no, it aint just you!

I just picked this up at an auction today and realized that it was for 22 Magnum and I thought I was buying a pistol with 22 LR so I think I’ll sell it. Needless to say I havn’t shot it. This firearm looks brand new. It comes with case, and cable lock and factory certification test target and a pouch with a couple of springs in it. It has the smallest wear spot on the slide as pictured. It is all steel and feels great in my hand. If you like 1911’s, and want a 22 magnum, this one is for you. Georgia is the devil and that’s all I have to say about that.

I think there's a lot of old timers (like me) that aren't hunting much anymore, especially long range, which is where the 7mm mag shines. Our gray haired hunters are dwindling while the younger hunters are pretty hyped up on AR platforms and that ever so popular 6.5 Creedmore. If this vintage M77 sells, I bet it'll be a baby boomer who buys it ... or someone who just loves nice walnut stocks and light pencil barrels like me.

I sponsored and shot in the 2022 Georgia State IDPA Championship Oct 28-30 Dawsonville Georgia at Riverbend Gun Club. I competed in the Backup Gun Division with my 25 year old "box stock" Glock 26 with now very dim Trijicon Night sights. I shot the match on Friday the 28th and went back down there on Sunday to pick up my banner and a couple of awards. That's me in the black and gray jacket accepting my awards (1st Place Master BUG and 1st Place BUG Division) from match director Ed Moser.
