  1. Went to the Gun show here in Dickson today. My expectations were pretty low as the shows have been showing more non-gun stuff and less guns for a few years now. It blew my mind when I came upon the "Holy Grail" of target .22 rifles. That being a Winchester Model 52 with a bull barrel and a Marble - Goss peep sight. According to the serial number, the rifle was made in 1931 which was the classic era and timeframe for their production. Got it for an excellent price, too as the gentleman was selling it for his father-in-law and the owner told him what to price it at and that's where it stayed. What makes this sweeter for me is that about 4 years ago, at the show in Murfreesboro, I found one of these "tack-drivers" for a much higher price and I tried to be "cute" and played a game of walking away to appear uninterested. During my little game, another buyer swooped in and bought it. I did find a good deal that same day on a Winchester 75, which is the little brother of the 52 but have kicked myself ever since. So, this is scratching an itch I have had for a while. Anyway, thanks for listening to my little rah-rah story.

  3. I just picked this up at an auction today and realized that it was for 22 Magnum and I thought I was buying a pistol with 22 LR so I think I’ll sell it. Needless to say I havn’t shot it. This firearm looks brand new. It comes with case, and cable lock and factory certification test target and a pouch with a couple of springs in it. It has the smallest wear spot on the slide as pictured. It is all steel and feels great in my hand. If you like 1911’s, and want a 22 magnum, this one is for you. It has the look and feel and controls of a 1911. It is single action only with a slide that resembles a Beretta 92. MSRP for this is $649, but I’m selling for $450. Trade interests are: 1) Ruger Mark IV 22. 2) Walther 22. 3) Ruger 10/22. 4) CZ 83. 5) Other Hammered (Double/and or Single Action) Pistols 6) Glock 17/19. Be Legally able to buy a handgun in Tn. Be willing to sign Bill of sale and show TN Id during Face to face Meeting in Nashville/Brentwood Area. From the Rock Island Arm Website….

  4. I am positing this add here to keep from dealing with the FB/CL drama. I will take 7500 cash for it or trade for or toward a CJ7 or Wrangler Jeep in the same type condition. Not interested in CJ-5s I have one that I am going to trade/sale as soon as I get another one. I love everything about the CJ5 except the drivers area is just to small for a 6'2 230lb guy. Due to work schedule I will not have time for project vehicles for the next 3 years. I purchased this vehicle from Smith County TN in 2017ish with 94,000 miles. I rebuilt the front end (MOOG parts) 2 new tires, Changed coolant, plugs, serviced tranny, new brakes, front hoses, 1 Caliper (the bleeder froze) New ALT, Center Console. All new lug nuts. It currently has around 112000 miles on it. Oil has been changed before 5000 miles with Mobile 1. Vehicle is totally stock but is the strongest running car I have ever owned or been issued. This is not a good first car for teenagers. Only mechanical issue that I am aware of is the TPS light stays on. I had it in 2 shops for tires and coolant and only one could get the TPS to reset correctly and that only lasted a week. I have just learned to live with it. Tires all have 35lbs in in them checked with a good gauge. The body has a few small dings and scratches but nothing major. Interior is not perfect but pretty nice. I have a new bumper cover that I never got around to putting on. It came primed and my body/paint guy moved out of state. Have the chrome center caps for the wheels also. I bought the Charger for gas mileage 25mpg on highway, which was much better than 05 Hemi Ram 4x4 and to keep excessive miles off the truck when on military orders. I replaced the truck in 2019 and there is only 4 MPG difference between the newer Hemi 1500 and the Charger. I changed departments and was issued a unmarked F-150 4x4 that I drive 90 percent of the time. I like the car but just don't drive it much and would like to get down to 2 personal 4 wheeled vehicles.

  5. Both in Excellent Cond. Belt size 46. Loops fit 45 Long Colt and is a few years old. Holster is about forty years old and fits Colt SAA and it's clones Ruger,Beretta and many others. It is for 4/58" barrel. Holster came from a movie set that I used to supply period holsters to. .45 Colt ammo in loops has no powder or primer as required on movie sets and cowboy shows. Buckle is your small cowboy type. Also fits Ruger Single Six. $6o for complete rig,cap gun can go with it but it not a good fit. Local pickup. This is not the low slung holster like the gunfighters have in westerns, but more what a cowboy rig was really like.

  6. It's easier to justify this rig if you visit Memphis on a weekend.

  19. Turns out Anderson, the same company that makes AR lowers and other parts, is now making a Glock 19 clone as well. I believe it is called the Kiger 9C. I don't have much information regarding when it is coming to market or what the retail cost is going to be, but it seems to be another good little Glock clone. However, I am still partial to the G23. I know that 40S&W is a controversial round, as some 9mm rounds can achieve similar ballistics and 10mm is more powerful, but the G23 allows you to utilize 4 different rounds through conversion barrels or kits, which I find to be interesting.

  23. I am a HUGE fan of Gunnys in Maryville! Volunteer is good in Lenoir City, 2nd Amendment in Lenoir City is sketchy. SMKW in Sevierville is wayyy overpriced for everything but probably cater to tourist. Bud's Gun Shop in Sevierville is ok but more of a range than a shop. Not much inventory. Knoxville Tactical is good also. But my favorite is between Gunny's in Maryville and Volunteer Firearms in Vonore,

  24. WHEN i was younger, I would get a flare up or two /year and I would just take endomethicin to manage thru the flare up. Once I turned 50, I used to have gout so bad I was on crutches once per month. It was all due to elevated Uric Acid. My DR put me on ULORIC which caused it to flare up at first but then it just flat quit (miracle drug for me) and my Uric acid levels came back down. I was on it for a long time until I came Nashville. Later my new Doctor told me that Uloric had some potential heart damage complications with extended use and I went onto Allopurinal as a preventative since my uric levels were normal. been two years and I havnt had a flare up yet. Good luck cause gout sucks.

  25. I prefer stolen guns be returned to their owners or auctioned off if no owner can be found if they have any value. Many agencies are too exuberant in destroying said firearms, regardless of what the law allows.
