Went to the Gun show here in Dickson today. My expectations were pretty low as the shows have been showing more non-gun stuff and less guns for a few years now. It blew my mind when I came upon the "Holy Grail" of target .22 rifles. That being a Winchester Model 52 with a bull barrel and a Marble - Goss peep sight. According to the serial number, the rifle was made in 1931 which was the classic era and timeframe for their production. Got it for an excellent price, too as the gentleman was selling it for his father-in-law and the owner told him what to price it at and that's where it stayed. What makes this sweeter for me is that about 4 years ago, at the show in Murfreesboro, I found one of these "tack-drivers" for a much higher price and I tried to be "cute" and played a game of walking away to appear uninterested. During my little game, another buyer swooped in and bought it. I did find a good deal that same day on a Winchester 75, which is the little brother of the 52 but have kicked myself ever since. So, this is scratching an itch I have had for a while. Anyway, thanks for listening to my little rah-rah story.8 points

Well, after an abscence, I'm slowing showing my hand, as it were, here again. Not that more than a few old geezers like myself noticed or wondered where I'd gone. Had some things happen this year that have altered my thoughts, perceptions, and actions. Seems to really have changed my outlook on most things that had been "normal" for me for quite some time. I realize we've all had changes because of Covid 19 and all the insanity that came with it. My very simple life wasn't really affected that much by it. Pretty much was a stay-at-home sort anyway. However, other things crept in afterwards, and caused me to withdraw from about everything around me. Not really wanting, or ready to talk about them; just suffice it to say that I've made a lot of changes this year. Some good, some bad, but all necessary for life to continue. Don't know if I'll ever get back to the easygoing smartass I've been, but going to try and rejoin my friends here. If you'll allow me. See quite a few new handles, so not sure how it will all go; but I'm going to try. I want thank those who checked in on me. It was greatly appreciated. Good to know that I was known and remembered. I just hope I wasn't too much of a jerk when you did try and contact me. Thanks for reaching out. I think I needed that. Don't think I'll ever return to virtually living here as I once did, but hope to keep in contact with the forum and my friends here. Larry/aka hipower2 points

Selling a Walther PDP Full Size 4.5". Dawson Precision Fiber Optic Front and blacked out rear. Includes 6 18rd magazines and a Comptac OWB holster (for competition). I have about 750 to 1000 rounds through this pistol. I purchased earlier this year. Excellent firearm. Reviews are spot on regarding the trigger and accuracy is incredible. Speed of follow up shots is also incredibly fast. I purchased this pistol for range use and as a competition irons gun. Overall I really like the features, design and quality but it does not quite fit my hand like my CZ. I like to have all my pistols share the same platform and grip for familiarity when switching from compact to full size etc... thus my reason for selling it. I still have the free coupon code from Walther for the optic plate which I have not used so you can still choose the plate you need for your optic. Selling for $800. Thanks for looking.1 point

Go to see you're still kicking. I've been MIA here myself. I'ts been a rough 6-8 months for me as well. Between wife's surgeries and my covid experience I find i am in a fog and find it hard to get motivated. I hope you are on the mend.1 point
