News is our president will dip deeper into our strategic oil reserve to calm price hikes again. Jeez this concerns me for two reasons. It fools people into thinking we had a competent energy policy and this is all Putin's fault. People forget prices were going up before Ukraine Secondly....it's a strategic oil reserve! We just might need that for something else than helping boost poll numbers.3 points

I am sure it will serve you very well. The Shadow Systems guns are excellent. That said, if I may offer a bit of unsolicited advice. Do not mount that Swampfox Sentinel. Exchange it for a Holosun or Trijicon RMRcc. It is not a quality optic and is not up to the job of counting on it for one’s life. I’m not just spewing Internet lore about it without any first-hand experience.I have one that is not mounted to a gun because the glass broke inside of it after taking a moderate bump while inside the holster. The Swampfox micro red dots are good enough for a range toy or if you’re wanting to just try out a pistol red dot to determine if you want to move in that direction without dropping Trijicon money. I would not under any circumstances put them into a clutch role. I’m not saying this to poo poo on a budget choice. Often times a budget option while maybe not “just as good“ as the premium choice, is often “good enough“. I’m saying this out of genuine concern that this optic may fail your wife when she is relying on it to save her life.2 points

I've got a buddy in Florida who did a lot of coral reef diving. Since he had a lot of used range brass that he'd never have time to reload, he tossed some in his melting pot and fashioned this coral artwork. He says he has a lot of aluminum cans, too. I've heard of beating your swords into plowshares....but this!1 point

For sale is a Ruger AR-556. I ran maybe 100 rds. through it, cleaned it, and it has been sitting ever since.I'm in the Tri Cities areas, and can travel to Knoxville or arrange to meet within a reasonable distance.1 point

Not sure if anyone really cares. Procedure was much simpler than anticipated. Normal on the books transfer after shop etched a serial number on compact p80 for 20.00 bucks. Total of 30.00. 10 for Stalin Socialist check. Not sure if ATF will be by in a few to check everything out but shop went by the book in every way so I’m confident. I think as long as your not selling 5-10 of these a year your ok. Time will tell as I’m sure some idiot will push the limits one day.1 point

Ok, I'm confused -- this happened 15 months ago and it was widely covered in the music industry press and mainstream news media. Why is it surfacing here today?1 point

Another fine one gone, RIP Dusty. One things for sure when we all go, there should be some great concerts going on with all the musicians that have passed, hope they got beer to drink while enjoying some of the music that's there.1 point

As the season gets going to prepare for session once more, I will be visiting more often to inform on bills TFA is advocating for. We actually had a good primary season, and look forward to adding a number of solid House members. Our year should be much better with the Bruen ruling. As usual though, the House will be far more accommodating to restoring rights taken by previous iterations of the General Assembly, the Senate not so much. Senate Judiciary will be chaired by either Gardenhire or Lundberg and either will be a death knell for 2A bills. Bell killed the good stuff to gain his new seat at the TWRA table in return, and we are left with no help at all in the Senate Judiciary.1 point

Maybe.... I do know the 65 Creedmore doesn't get me anything my dear 308s can't do right now unless considering a bit less drop past 600 yards. Ever since selling my 8mm mag decades ago, i been wanting a laser beamer that don't kill on both ends of the rifle. It's suppose to be fun. The 65 PRC has more juice at 1000 and about the same recoil as my 308 so by the charts, maybe i am subconsciously drawn to it. Short action too. BIG downside is ammo availability but just have to watch closely for some to show up. Two bucks a pop will slow down the barrel wear too. Only money tho, right? Anyways, don't need another 308 so looking at options. Most of the youtubers talk big on the PRCs so figured to have a look around before plunking down green based on a shill's advice. Just stirring up real conversation amongst us end users. Smoky -------------------------------------- BIBLE BULLETS1 point

I've gotten a lot of questions on its size. S&W labels this as the Compact. It's the same size as a Glock 19. Hopefully this helps some people out about its size.1 point

TN code 39-17-1359 that enforces properly posted signs drives me nuts. I will never understand this. Anyone who is going to do something bad will not be stopped by a sign with specific sized letters. The way I see it is a business owner should be allowed to post a sign and if they see me carrying they can ask me to leave or I will be trespassed - I would happily leave with no issues. It creates "soft spots" if nothing else. Law abiding citizens are the only ones who will even think about honoring a sign and those are the people who are not the threat. I have emailed lawmakers in the state and hope one day they will realize how dumb it is. Even if they made the sign only apply to permitless carriers at least it would be a small step forward, even though I believe it should not apply to anyone.1 point

Sure, Retirement. 52 years old, 18 years of Federal Service (Army and Civilian) and counting. Seeking out a place to enjoy my pension and retirement in the next few years. No family left any longer (family had sold off the mountain properties and what not over the years). For the wife (from ranchland of Oregon) and I (mountains of Idaho), parents had passed, extended family not really close. Army burned me of deserts. All of Southern Idaho is desert. Snow. Got too old to really want to deal with snow and months of sub-zero temperatures. Playing in the snow (snowmobiles) required a 3-hour drive from the Boise valley. Crime. MS13 moved in with the Californians and brought daily gang shootings (red vs. blue) at the convience stores, drug deals over my back fence and local LE had no clue how or desire to deal with it. Home invasions, car thefts, heavy (why we live in Stewart County now) also, I feel safer driving in Nashville now than I did in the Boise Metro area. Water. Lakes there are crap, at least the lowland ones. Wanted to live near more natural water and natural green(refernce the desert comment above). Longer warm weather. We like riding motorcycles and more summer activities than winter. Had an Army buddy settle here from his time at Ft. Campbell. We visited a few times and Stewart County reminds me alot of the small county I grew up in. Property value (Don't hate me over this one becuase I know it is an evil we helped perpetuate.) We sold our urban, suburb, 1200 sq ft house on 1/8 acre that we still owed on and had enough left over to pay cash for 2 acres, 1800 sq ft, build a shop, pay off the cars, pay cash for a new bike, used boat, and stuff a bunch of money in the bank. So that's it.1 point

My experience is that a Shadow Systems gun trigger isn't at its best until at least a thousand rounds of shooting. Dry fire helps, but grit and grime and shooting really smooths it up.1 point
