I don't care what breed it is, you have to watch them around children that small. It could and has happened with plenty of other dog breeds.5 points

I'm going to piss off a lot of pitbull fans but... clearly the breed of peace. These stories are infuriating. That breed is quirky, prone to aggression, and very muscular. When one of them flips its ####, you're in for a fight even as an adult. Toddlers and infants? Hopeless. I wouldn't be sad to see that breed of dog become extinct.2 points

I used to be a smoker so it became habit. But it does have its uses. We use them at work on heat shrink if we are doing field repairs on the water to wiring. We also use them to melt grease pencils to mix up with some other stuff to do vinyl repairs. Always helps to have a lighter when you decide to do a fire in the evenings without having to go in the house and hunt one. And Im in the woods alot hunting and hiking and the ability to make fire in case of emergency is pretty much mandatory2 points

Hey Y'all, I've had the Mantis X dry fire training system for a little over a month and it has been a pretty interesting device. Works for both dry and live fire and it gives pointers on your trigger pulls, grip, etc. I got the extra version that works for ARs, Shotguns, and Bow's (no clue how it works for bows yet). I've been enjoying their product so much that I have ordered the Laser Training Academy. It is my ultimate dream to own land and have my own backyard shooting range so I can practice daily. Until then, this has been a great way for me to keep my trigger finger fresh, work on draws, and improve my overall pistol shooting while in the burbs. Highly recommend. I'll let y'all know how the laser academy goes as well.1 point

Please don't hate me cuz I'm a Californian lol, 33 years in Long Beach, CA - last year was in Tempe, AZ but after my last layoff I threw a hail mary (cuz I wasn't going back to Cali) and move to Hermitage, TN within 2 weeks of receiving a job offer and start date out here. Love all the greenery, lakes, and small town feel in the outskirts of Downtown Nashville. I'm a big Ducks fan (sorry Smashville), Chargers and used to be Angels fan but I lost all interest in MLB years ago. I'm part of a Titans fan group on facebook, big fantasy football player so I cheer for a bunch of teams and Titans are definitely one of them lol own a Toyota 4Runner 4wd, 12 ft kayak for lakes/rivers, and a few guns. Love to start venturing out into the wilderness or learn how to fish from my sit-in kayak (unless yall got a boat, I'll take a boat anyday over my kayak lol) loved my time in Arizona and now in Tennessee....it's great to feel more personal freedom then I ever got to experience for most my life1 point

Good choice. I had Eagle plates on Motorhome and Jeep, Emergency on my truck since HAM license, Bird on my wife's truck. I hate the new tag and glad we could keep the specialized tags.1 point

Total mistake on my part i meant the Ridgeline......thanks for pointing that out. I did have a buddy with a 93 Passport in high school though and it was a good vehicle. Actually i am wrong again, it was an Isuzu Rodeo, but i believe that was mostly a rebadged Passport.1 point

You will be hard pressed to beat the accuracy and reliability of Savage rifles straight out of the box without spending >2x or more. I bought an Axis in 6.5 CM a couple of years ago when Walmart was getting rid of them for less than $200 and it is a great gun. First thing I did was replace the cheap Weaver scope that came with it. It shoots about 1 moa with factory ammo and about 1/2 moa with handloads. It is lighter and the stock feels cheaper than my other Savage rifles, but it still performs.1 point

These are on the rare side. A very nice polymer hammer gun. Also a top notch TGO member.1 point

From everything I've heard the accutrigger is worth it. Mine has it and it is pretty good. Barring that, the Axis line just works and is reasonably accurate. I've been having some trouble sourcing an additional mag though. The scope, at least on mine, is serviceable but has poor eye relief. Bushnell Banner branded although I don't think that goes for all the Axis line. It wouldn't be worth paying extra for in my opinion, and if your options were the scope kit or the accutrigger, I'd recommend the trigger. Overall there's a lot of competition in the budget category but the Axis seems to be among the better ones. If you wanted to step up, the Ruger American is a better rifle but usually at least 50% more expensive.1 point

I got one for my Daughter's boyfriend. I ordered a trigger kit for and the trigger is 100x better. It's in 6.5 creedmoor. It feels cheap compared to what I shoot. It is also a solid 1/2 moa gun if you shoot 3 shot hunting groups. His was $359 with the scope. I think it's worth the money.1 point

I have 2 older Savage 110s. 30-06 made in 1959 and a 35 Whelen made in 1970. Both are great shooters.1 point

If one of my sons wants it, he's welcome to it. But neither has expressed any desire. The both know guns and can shoot, but they never got into them like I have. Like I said, its a cheap off brand model and ain't worth much. I think the best thing is for them to do is surrender it and avoid the hassle.1 point

The reason is they are just dumb animals and one can never be sure what they will do, even if they are the person who feeds them. I used to work outside and often went to homes. Over the years, more than a few dogs that knew me and saw me often would suddenly get aggressive out of the blue for no apparent reason and act like crackheads. The owners always sang the same tune - “I’ve never seen him act like that!” Well you have now. No animal is completely predictable. Pit bulls get a lot of bad press, but this is true for pretty much any breed.1 point

SIA Delisle carbine repro. Sadly it’s in NFA jail but I got to use it at the dealers range last week.1 point

It’s .45 and modified to take 1911 mags. It does have a big integral suppressor on it as well.1 point

Worst thing that's happened , is when they legalized these ambulance chasing lawyers to advertise on TV. Throw in the Medicare commercials as well.1 point

Most days anymore its a Hellcat RDP in a Crucial Concealment carried appendix. Case Seahorse Whittler pocket knife, Bic lighter, and a Fury Concealment kydex card wallet. Leatherman Surge on the belt or a Leatherman sidekick clipped in my pocket. Streamlight Microstream light in shirt pocket. That takes care of pretty much everything I do day to day.1 point

In past threads on this subject I've already spoken about the problems my two sons both had when they needed new vehicles. It sucked for both of them. For several years now I've been considering trading off my 2nd vehicle, a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis, for something smaller and cheap on gas to use as an everyday driver. Thereby saving wear and tear on my pick-up and the cost of gas. But every time I start checking into it, I would end up getting royally screwed. That's just how the market is right now.1 point

Seen nothing but a pic of them so far. Looks good. Will it handle a 6x10 enclosed trailer?1 point

I agree, we don't need to promote people vacationing here. The woo girl epidemic is crippling Lower Broadway in Nashville clogging up the road with all types of pedal taverns and tractors hauling obnoxious drunks who are having so much fun that they decide to move here, drive the housing prices sky high, and then complain about how we don't do things the way that they did them back in Connecticut. Tennessee is a horrible place. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter, with a very short spring and fall. The level of humidity is such that we have forgotten what it really means to truly dry off. We're infested with alligators, rattlesnakes, chiggers, ticks, and mosquitos that are difficult to distinguish from hummingbirds. Our roads are treacherous, curvy, and poorly maintained. All of the natives are hillbillies who will do their best to drive you back to wherever you came from. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.1 point

The clerk's office was kind enough to send me this new plate. I wonder if someone will confuse this for a personal plate and key our car.0 points

The family in this story are friends of a friend of mine. She said it is a horrible situation. I can't even imagine how one would even begin to cope with this.0 points

Friends of mine had a Doberman since it was a puppy was 5-6 years old at the time, it went to attack his wife one day. She was able to get into the bathroom and close the door before she got bit, dog tore up outside of door pretty bad. When her husband got home dog was laying on the floor all happy to see him like nothing happened.0 points

Same here. I've never been a cigarette smoker, but I've carried a Bic lighter in my pocket for many years. It's remarkable how often one needs to be able to set something on fire.0 points
