  2. Failing to process rape kits is beyond my comprehension. Just do it. Allocate the resources & get it done. With the DNA database growing daily, more & more violent predators can be caught & locked away. Yet...it isn't happening. The world feels "broken".

  3. I ended up at The BBQ Shop. The food was great. Like I said , I make my own BBQ at home with an old fashioned cinder block pit I built. I dont use sauce and my pork and deer is usually only wet from it's own juices. Sometimes I will make some vinegar based sauce and mop it on the meat every few hours. But anyways , I ordered some ribs and ordered them "wet" with sauce. WOW !!!! The sauce they use and that was on the table was AWESOME !!! I am not a sauce person but this was just great ! It was NOT sweet and was NOT tangy. It was as if they used tomatoe paste , sour cream , cumin , and some other non-tangy spices. This sauce was just great ! I guess it I can say it was creamy. The meat was great . I like cole slaw and hate it when slaw is sweet but their slaw was mustard based and was GREAT ! It seemed to have some onions cut up in it too. The best slaw I ever had in my life ! My wife had the bbq sandwich on Texas toast . The sandwich had a ton of pork in it. I was pleased ! Thanks for the suggestions to all you guys. Ill try to post pictures of my wife's sandwich cut in half and my rib plate.

  4. So, after listing several guns here for sale, I'm surprised that this is the only one left, because I had thought it was priced to move: Sig M11-A1, excellent condition, with box and everything it came with, including the wonderful lock. The gun is shown with E2 grips but the original grips are also included. It’s simply an outstanding firearm. Three magazines. SOLD

  7. 5.45x39 is more expensive and tougher to find than 7.62x39. It has better terminal ballistics than 5.56 and higher BC so it shoots further. Very mild recoil in AK74s. I have both and really enjoy shooting the 74 but I cannot say I prefere one over the other. Most 47 accesroies will fit a standard 74 with a few exceptions. Surplus magazines are more expensive but Magpull makes decent ones for a good price. Every gun shop looks at you funny when you ask about 5.45x39. "don't you mean 7.62x39?" is very common, as is front counter guy shouting to somone in the back "we have any 5.45x39?" with the answer most always being "you mean 7.62x39?" so get used to that. Once in a while you meet the "other guy who has a AK74" who smiles and knows right what you are talking about. That all said, I do ok at gunshows recently on 5.45 except for some fools who have it jacked way up in price. Best deals are online, about 40 cents per even today if you look. They operate just like a 47. different size parts is all. Some early Century guns used 5.56 barrels and tend to keyhole so watch for that. I can tell by some subtle changes it is a modernized AK when compared to my 47's. On reloading, Hornady makes dies. Brass is unobtainium though. So are bullets. Nobody has load data so I have dies I have never used. I did clear out the last place I knew with bullets (surplus pulls) and have a bunch of 222 rem brass to convert and do plan to work up a load. With ammo being the way it is I am hopefull the reload market will start supporting it soon. I hope that gives you some decent info.

  8. Hello. I’m interested in a Smith & Wesson model 65 stainless .357 revolver with a three inch barrel. Prefer the shrouded ejector rod found on the Lady Smith 65, but will purchase both. Only interested in prelock models with a 3” barrel. I’m in middle Tennessee. Please PM me the details if you have or know of one for sale. Thank you for your time.

  9. Meghan Ybos puts the facts out there about MPD and the State Forensic Department responsible for processing rape test kits. I think she has a valid point! After Eliza Fletcher's murder, authorities don't have their priorities right | Opinion (yahoo.com)

  10. I would not even attempt to use them. It's unfortunate, but much less unfortunate than a hang fire or something like that. Toss them and consider it a lesson. I am not necessarily slight risk averse, but when it comes to things like this, it just isn't worth it.

  13. 5.56/.223 with a GOOD bullet is exceptionally good for deer. I'd be looking for a Ruger American in .223 (or an AR) & load it up with 77gn Sierra tipped Matchkings. 65gn Gamekings if you can't find TMKs.

  14. Lets not go to Golden Corral, lol. Food poisoning is not a fun thing to have again. We could try for Chuy's, Firebirds, or Logans perhaps?

  15. Legion, thanks for the tip. I'll have to give Ty's a try. I used to love Fat Larry's in Bartlett. The ribs were awesome! But, like i said, the owner died a couple of years ago and the last time I went it was still pretty good, but just not as good as it used to be. For just a simple old sandwich, I think Tops is the best in town.

  16. MPD has been a mess for many years and it just keeps getting worse. Everyone knows, or at least believes, that the new Police Chief Cerelyn Davis was hired not for her qualifications, but simply because she was the politically correct choice. So far she hasn't impressed me or anyone I know at all. The rape kit problem has been well known for at least 10 years. The Eliza Fletcher case brought it to the front once again. But I did notice that getting her kit tested was bumped to the front of the line due to the publicity. But what about the victims who have been waiting years for justice? The other day Gov. Lee announced that 25 more lab techs will be hired for the State lab. But hiring and training new people will take time and the backlog is years long. Plus all these new people will need lab space to work and equipment. Don't expect anything to change anytime soon.

  19. I will call myself lucky when I was able to pick up a new Saiga in 7.62 NATO/308, yes it is made to shoot both. As well as a Saiga 12 gauge. These are built in the same plant in Mother Russia as the AK. Thanks to obummer the imports were stopped and the price has gone up. The 7.62/308 worked flawless out of the box. The 12ga needed work, after new adjustable gas puck system and firing a few 100 rounds it now works flawless, even with low brass weak loads. Both are accurate, I have shoot the 7.62/308 out to 300 yards hitting a paper plate, 12ga to100 yards in a paper plate with slug, my hand loaded rounds. All in all it is a good platform, easy to operate, and clean. Finding ammo at a good price is another matter, as we all know.

  21. Full tube, chamber loaded, safety on. I keep all my guns fully loaded. They're ready at an instance notice, or no notice. Bad guys dont always give notice. Do as you're comfy with.

  22. As many have said..."cruiser ready" is by far recommended by the leading shotgun instructors. Shotguns are not drop safe like most modern pistols. Full magazine, trigger tripped so that slide is unlocked, safety off. A quick rack of the slide and fully ready to deliver rounds down range. Big advantage of shotgun is generally only one serving per bad guy is sufficient.
