  1. The original company were pioneers in the development of HP/expanding bullets. Found these boxes among a family member's stash (who passed away). Super Vel went out of business in 1974 (but has been re-born in Nevada).

  2. Ruger #1 45.70 - Beautiful low round count piece .. I’d grade it at 97% easy, and only due to a few small safe dings .. Sightron 3-9x40 scope $1650 Ruger #1 .280 - Beautiful rifle, 98% easy, and I’ve never fired it. Sightron S1 3-9x40 (I’m not sure this one has EVER been shot) $1650 I picked up several at once a while back and just don’t feel like I’ll ever shoot these two.

  6. Sadly the owner of my favorite BBQ joint passed. It just hasn't been the same since. I will tell you to skip Rendezvous and Corky's. Overpriced tourist traps. You can get better food cheaper elsewhere.

  8. I am a Glock guy. I have several, big fan of the them. I carry Gen 3s as part of my EDC. A while back I was on PSA's site and saw the Dagger, and I thought, hell, why not. I bought a complete lower. Swapped the trigger out for a flat tradition trigger and not the hinged S&W style it came with. I built a custom slide for it and loved it. I loved it so much I bought another one, and did the same thing for a matched pair. So I am on a roll, building a Glock is fun. Then Lone Wolf did their Freedom Wolf 80% lowers on sale for like $50. I bought more than a few of them. Unlike the Dagger, or many of the other lowers out there, these can be build completely with aftermarket or factory parts. You don't have to use fancy locking blocks with built in rails or any of that jazz. I have build several from the ground up. My favorite is pretty snazzy with lots of shiny parts. I have no doubt at this point it cost me twice what a stock Glock would have. Many of the 'Clones' out there that have a higher price than a stock Glock of similar size come with all the upgraded features. New spring set, custom trigger pack, cut slide, threaded barrels, changes to the grip angle. You are getting a lot of custom features on the gun. I like building them. I carry my Glocks bone stock, but the clones and aftermarket make for a lot of fun building fancy BBQ guns or range toys.

  9. My Dad died this past Sat at 102. One of his possessions was a Kentucky long rifle that my mother bought him from a pawn shop sometime in the early 1960’s. He took it somewhere in the 70’s and had it authenticated as original, but we have not been able to find the documentation. In addition, since that time he took it out and shot it and it looks like never cleaned it based on the tarnish and oxidation on the barrel at the lockup whereas the rest of the barrel looks very clean to me. The wood is all soldi with no cracks. It has the name Golcher on the side on the metal. I remember my name telling me this was supposed to have been on of the more notable makers. My dad recently decided to polish with WD-40. A friend of mine who restore antique guitars tells me naphtha will clean that off, but I’m leaving that to a professional. Any information about the weapon or a person I can take it too would be appreciated. I am in Maryville TN but willing to travel to have a knowledgeable person check it out. My goal is to sell it. Thank you very much. More pictures available on request.

  15. If you don't mind the "hole in the wall diner" feel try Three Little Pigs. It's my favorite. I'll second the "Avoid Corky's" advice. Rendezvous had good charbroil ribs (if that's what you're after), but I haven't been there in many years.

  16. Mike W. gives good advice with the CW show in Franklin. I go every year and it will have hundreds of dealers and folks in the know. It takes place the first Sat and Sunday of December. One other suggestion would be you could send these pictures via email to Muzzleloader magazine. It is an excellent magazine and you might get some faster and better advice there. Their website is www.muzzleloadermagazine.com Best of luck.

  17. Lone wolf has a few 40s&w alpha wolf comps for 19.99 as they continue to abandon this offering. It only pukes out the top. But under 30 bucks delivered with first class usps transit worth consideration

  18. Just so you know this is a legit inquiry. I had had to sell my old 338 ss in Sitka (wife) but she had promised i could replace it. I have been looking forever since then but obviously browning quit making them due to covid or whatever else reason they have. I do want the gun assuming you havent fired an extreme amount of shells through it. If the gun is spoken for i understand but if not i am all in on this. I am living in Palmer Alaska now too. Not Sitka. Thanks.

  19. I bought this from the guy I purchased my mill from. I have sold both my lathe and mill and don't have a need for this anymore. Works well and will come with 2 new blades. Well used, but works great. Coolant pump works as well. $xxx picked up in Chapel Hill. Check a new price on one and you will quickly realize this is a deal. Thanks.

  30. Buddy, the smart people doing what you're wanting to do aren't talking about it on the Internet. You can insult people all you want if that makes you feel brave or more patriotic, but it also paints you as the kind of person -- too loud, no discretion -- that smart people aren't going to want to pull into their inner circle of prepared individuals. Your "tribe" ought to start with people you already know and have known for years. But do them a favor and learn how to fly under the radar.

  36. You can still find a conversion cylinder that will allow you to shoot regular ammo in one. Just need to look around on line and see what brand the conversion cylinder kit fits and you can have both precusion and metallic cartridge in one gun.
