It's like Stockholm Syndrome. Torture us with crippling prices for ages then back off a bit with the pain pretending compassion. The memory of why this is all happening in the first place and how bad it was is erased by the relief felt. Well my memory is strong and I'm not feeling gratitude.3 points

This is the reissue of the Gen 1 Glock 17. It has the OG grip texture, two magazines and tupperware container. $650 price lowered2 points

I have some that I don't ever see myself parting with. The .22 rifle that my dad gave me for my 15th birthday and the Ruger standard that belonged to my grandfather are at the top of that list. I also have several guns that belonged to my wife's father and grandfather, though they don't have any sentimental value to me, I'll let my son make the call on those one day. Then I have the guns that I just always wanted, like a nice 1911. I could sell it today and buy another one tomorrow just like it, but as long as I don't need the money nothing is going anywhere.2 points

I got this in the Guns America e-mail this morning. Interesting read. https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/tennessee-montana-lead-state-coalition-against-banks-credit-card-companies-tracking-and-monitoring-firearm-purchases/?utm_source=email&utm_medium=20220923_FridayDigest_401&utm_campaign=/digest/tennessee-montana-lead-state-coalition-against-banks-credit-card-companies-tracking-and-monitoring-firearm-purchases/2 points

SOLD Got a bit of an interesting offer for y’all fans of the FAL. We have an Imbel FAL on an L1A1 lower. it was marked as an L1A1 when imported, but is an FAL (metric) upper and takes (metric) FAL magazines, not the less common L1A1 (inch pattern) magazines. It comes with about 60% of the makings of another FAL in takeoff bits. (Israeli heavy barrel assembly, AWB era thumb hole stock lower.) Add a few missing pieces and you have a second rifle. Comes with 1 20rd FAL magazine. Have several 30rd FAL magazines as well. Will even throw in the remainder of an Arizona Response Systems baby poop paint kit if you want it. $15001 point

I've got a gun that has been by my side for years. No telling how many critters I've taken with this gun. At least 200 hogs. I'm really thinking of upgrading. I've never been sentimental about a gun. Studebaker yes......, but never a gun. It'll just sit in the safe until I die 80 ot 90 years from now. You guys ever get a little weird about letting stuff like that go?1 point

https://www.newschannel5.com/news/macon-county-deputys-car-careens-with-rogue-suv-to-save-homecoming-crowd I’m not usually a big banner waving supporter of LEO in general, but may God bless the RSO who stopped this idiot. For years, I would have kids standing in his path during the annual homecoming parade. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with people, but something has to change. Thanks for tolerating my rant.1 point

Got this last year and love it! Sadly, I have too many and other more pressing needs. Been to the range twice and runs fantastic. I have the factory RMR plate as well as the C&H Precision RMR plate. The C&H is a much better plate. It has a FO suppressor height front sight black rear. and It comes with a C&G holster and the a Garret Silent Thunder STX 2.0 holster (best holster ever), 5 Walther OEM 15 rnd mags, box, and all original accessories. Optic not included $Sold . Nashville area. Holosun 407-GR2 available for $200 extra. Only trade interest would be a Glock 19 Gen 4/5 with cash.1 point

HMU if willki falls through, might be interested. Have the same exact one (unbranded) from a TrueShot special, haven't really given it a go yet though.1 point

Being any kind of Law Dawg is a tough way to earn a living. I could not have done it. God bless anyone who tries to do the job. And it's like anything else, you get some mostly good ones and some bad ones slip through. I have always understood that a Hero is a person, while everyone else around them is soiling themselves, keeps a calm mind and does what needs to be done to keep the bad guys at bay. Based on my simplified logic, this Deputy surely fits the bill. There are folks alive tonight in Macon County that would not be if he hadn't wrecked the nutcase. Well done Deputy Shipley, very well done.1 point

I dont really have any sentimental guns. My dad wasnt into them and my uncles got all my grandfathers stuff. That being said, I recently got one that would fall into this category. Ive had a troubled history with Kimber. Ive had 2. First was a TLE Custom II that had all kinds of issues. The second was a Tactical Entry II that I couldnt keep rust off no matter what I did. So I make fun of them quite a bit. An Army buddy of mine passed away a few months back and the lawyer for the estate had called me and needed FFL info because Matt left me a gun and it needed to be transferred. It was a Kimber TLE/RL II. It probably wont go anywhere. I doubt I shoot it much and I hate keeping guns around that I dont shoot. But this one being what it is, it will probably have a permenant spot in the safe.1 point

It is what it is. This is something we cannot change. The major oil companies held the line and made record profits. As usual some of you are angry at the wrong person. If you’re really angry, stop buying gas. Capitalism baby!1 point

Prices aren't down. They're still up $1.30-1.40 since 2020. Maybe you're happy, me & many others aren't.1 point

Have a few guns in my "collection", a 1930s single shot 22 my Dad had as a boy for example or a prized to me 1950s pre model 10 revolver etc, etc... Sentimental Guns that sit. Too many. My offspring have no interest. I have to face the fact that they sit and sit and one day (maybe soon) I'll eliminate all but a few practical guns. I could buy a few nice toys or take a nice trip or two with the proceeds before I get too feeble lol. Or.....trade them for other guns??1 point

I have a friend who used to drag race an 86 Mustang. He ended up in the high 8s before he gave it up. His car was in Hot Rod magazine. When he quit, you could have put that small block in an F-250 and towed an Airstream through the Rockies, but he spent a retirement on transmissions.1 point

I have an older Kimber Warrior and I'll say, with this many mags, this is a good deal. It's the only non-Glock handgun I hung onto (I had two at one time: Warrior and Desert Warrior). These guns are sublime.1 point

I have pondered this subject many times, and have decided I am not going to worry about. Each of mine have a story, some stories are short, but some are long stories. Some came by happenstance, some by long collecting journeys, some by stupidity, some by luck, and some by inheritance. I have the first 410 my dad got me for Christmas some 50 years ago, its wiped out a many squirrel. Even my oldest son bagged his first squirrel with that same 410. I have some of my father's favorite rifles, his dad's double barrel from the early 1900s, my first hand gun, some centric collections, some odd ones, and some because I watched some stupid movie or western. Maybe the kid in me still enjoys them, Im too old to buy matchbox or hotwheels anymore, but guns are something else, maybe its my connection to my dad. I just cannot think of reason to get rid of any of them. I do have nightmares after my passing that my wife will sell each of them for pennies on the dollars, and think good riddance to those things in that sat in the safe all those years. She still thinks that I only need one, I told her I have enough for me and our sons! Wow will she be shocked or wonder who she married.1 point

If you don't need the money or the space why sell them. I buy guns I don't sell them and my son likes that.1 point

Im actually dropping the 34 off with him tomorrow. Hes gonna take off the Glock hump, do a grip reduction and stipple it and chop it to G19 length.1 point

As long as the value of my guns is going up and the value of the dollar is going down, I can’t see a good reason to trade them for dollars.1 point

I have sentimental guns I will never part with until my last days like first gun ever bought by me or guns passed down to me by friends whom are no longer here.1 point

I saw a quick story on the local news tonight saying the TN AG is one of many state AGs across the country who have sent letters to the credit card companies protesting this new code. They seem to be concerned that it may violate Consumer Protection laws.1 point

Yup. Hasn’t been the same since W pushed his way in. I never worried about filling up my tank prior to his term. Yep! Thanks Brandon. I can finally fill up for for less than 40 bucks. Please keep doing whatever you are doing. Make it drop further.1 point

Found one! Bought a 2011 Ford Escape off of Craig's List. My research shows the 2011 was one of the best years for these cars. Excellent condition, interior is perfect. everything works, Got it at a good price. I was able to pay cash, so no payments like I would've ended up with at a dealer. Needs a couple of small things fixed, but its no big deal. What used car doesn't? I even like the color. Unfortunately, the County Clerk's office is closed again this week. So I can't get tittle and tags until next week.1 point

You chose wisely. Reloading is not hard at all but it does require some attention to detail, like ensuring the powder charge remains constant along with bullet seating depth and crimping. Often the equipment needs to be tweaked during a session. It’s best to learn on a single stage rather than a progressive starting out.1 point

I'd just like to take a moment to recognize the Biden administration for working tirelessly to get us back to these reasonable gas prices.1 point

We’re back down to the prices the OP was complaining about, but now we’re happy about it. Perspective is a funny thing.1 point
