I have some exciting news. I reached a compromise with my wife. Instead of ordering a motorcycle I heard about what are essentially electric dirt bikes. 50 MPH, 60 mile range. I ordered a Talaria Sting. Pretty excited about it. Here is a stock photo for now. I'll post more once I pick it up next week.5 points

Hey Y'all, I've had the Mantis X dry fire training system for a little over a month and it has been a pretty interesting device. Works for both dry and live fire and it gives pointers on your trigger pulls, grip, etc. I got the extra version that works for ARs, Shotguns, and Bow's (no clue how it works for bows yet). I've been enjoying their product so much that I have ordered the Laser Training Academy. It is my ultimate dream to own land and have my own backyard shooting range so I can practice daily. Until then, this has been a great way for me to keep my trigger finger fresh, work on draws, and improve my overall pistol shooting while in the burbs. Highly recommend. I'll let y'all know how the laser academy goes as well.3 points

So you got a hipster motorcycle to break your neck on, lol. That actually does look pretty cool and mighty fun off-road. Is there a local dealer or do they ship and you assemble?3 points

C64 was my first and I held on to it far to long until we got a Windows 3.1 machine, might have been a somewhat early Dell. I had that thing loaded up with the tape drive, two disk drives, the Koala Pad, joysticks, more than two dozen cartridge based games and probably close to 200 on disk (most pirated). Ahh the memories. I actually wrote a program in BASIC on the C64 for my final project in a civil engineering course in college. It was for calculating compressive failure loads in concrete core/cylinder samples if I recall.3 points

If I've ever mistakenly missed a sign, I've never been caught. If asked to leave, I'm happy to as I prefer not to enrich anti 2A businesses.3 points

No local dealer. I had to order from a company on the West coast and they ship it in a box. It's mostly assembled. I have to install the front wheel and handlebars. That would have been my preference too. I really wanted a Honda Dual sport. I'm hoping this will let me get my feet wet and once my wife sees I haven't killed myself she will ease up Having said that, I think this will be a lot of fun. The reviews are very positive. https://youtu.be/aJIN4I4tZP82 points

SOLD Selling my unfired Geissele Super Duty Pistol in Luna Black. It has Troy HK style flip up sights on it that will go with the gun. This gun has been a safe queen since I bought it with the intention of SBR'ing it but never filled paperwork and moved on to other projects. I'll let it go for $1,700. These are hard to come by lately on palmetto or Geissele direct and don't come with sights. I can meet in the greater Nashville area as I work downtown and live in Lebanon but would prefer to meet at my office which is well exposed and has ample places to do this off of Hermitage Ave. I can come to you but would request meeting in some sort of public place. Cash Only. Thanks for looking1 point

I'm curious to hear your impressions of the electric bike. So far the magazines seem pretty sold on electrics, but then there are usually full-page ads next to the review. I'm sticking with ICE, but I know that eventually electric is going to be the primary choice for most folks. Like to get on my bad motorscooter and ride, so the 125-150 mile range of an electric isn't gonna float my boat, but for a local commute.... maybe.1 point

TN code 39-17-1359 that enforces properly posted signs drives me nuts. I will never understand this. Anyone who is going to do something bad will not be stopped by a sign with specific sized letters. The way I see it is a business owner should be allowed to post a sign and if they see me carrying they can ask me to leave or I will be trespassed - I would happily leave with no issues. It creates "soft spots" if nothing else. Law abiding citizens are the only ones who will even think about honoring a sign and those are the people who are not the threat. I have emailed lawmakers in the state and hope one day they will realize how dumb it is. Even if they made the sign only apply to permitless carriers at least it would be a small step forward, even though I believe it should not apply to anyone.1 point

I picked up a new-to-me bike this afternoon. Drove 4-hrs each way to stinking Atlanta for a 2014 BMW S1000RR. The amazing thing is that this bike has only 340 miles on it! That's good and bad. Good as I know it's never been thrashed and the paint is perfect. Bad in that it has the original oil and fluids in it. Oil change coming as soon as I can get a filter, and then I'll flush the other fluids soon. Sold my two Ducati Superbikes, so the Beemer is more a less a trade for those two. I'm really jazzed to get the thing out on the road!1 point

They are totally evil. Will make you think about nothing but shooting with them. Will quickly drain your bank account because of 9mm ammo purchases. Initially had the m-lok forend version, but prefer the stock forend now. Wonder if a 10mm is in the offing...probably not.1 point

I hate you guys! Y'all are bad for my wallet!!! I found a 9mm takedown model (not a Backpacker) on Gun Broker, that just happened to be local. So I went lunch and looked at it. It's used and doesn't have the Glock Mag adapter ($32 from Ruger), but it's in great condition. So it's now in layaway. Also comes with a sling. Here it is. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/9457131311 point

I was thinking that even with a longer barrel it would still be illegal to put a regular stock on it. Something to do with it being originally manufactured as a "pistol." I believe there is an adapter for a brace available and less than 16" would be perfectly fine with that.1 point

Generally at most gun shops you can get a new Taurus G2 in 9mm for 2-225.00 out the door. I’d your looking for something cheap that’s the best option!1 point

I like 110 grain TAC--TXs for hogs in a 10.5" barrel. That said - you're going to get more energy transfer out of a round with more case capacity. I'm a big fan of 338 Federal, too.1 point

I saw that this morning. Absolutely tragic. There is often a belief that a range or a gun store is a safe location from robbery. Sure, burglaries happen, but we tell ourselves that someone would be foolish to attack a gun store that has staff that is likely armed. I suspect that as a general rule, folks have just been quite lucky on that front up until now. Working at one of these places doesn’t make you safe, it makes you a target. There is absolutely a level of self selection with regards to the type of people that would make this type of play. The kind of robber that’s going to go after your local convenience store isn’t likely to try something like this and the numbers are that there are more of that type. I don’t see there being great numbers of people who would make this type of play, the problem is is that those who will are the hardasses. I think it’s pretty safe to say this was most likely not done by a lone gunman. This was a crew and in Georgia if they’re caught they’re all up for the death penalty. I hope these guys are caught quickly because I strongly suspect they’re not gonna stop here. They’ve already got capital murder charges most likely hanging over their head so there’s a good chance that more people could die before they’re done.1 point
