Last update: Just out of curiosity, last week I took the good stuff down to Accent Jewelers. They are all the time advertising about buying gold and jewelry in Memphis. The guy who looked at the stuff for me said that they pay the usual 15%, but they are honest. They offered me $699 for the whole pile. I passed as that wouldn't make a big difference in my life and I'd rather just keep it in the family. I did sell them one old small lady's watch with a gold case for $60. I thought that was pretty good considering how little it was. It didn't work anyway. Saturday I handed it all over to my DIL. She was quite tickled about it and I got a big hug. I'm happy, she's happy, It was well worth it.4 points

Alright, I've had a thread going down in the Club Forums section for about 3 months now. Not much response. So I'll try it here and maybe people will notice. As I already stated, I'm not near organized enough to put something like this together. I wouldn't know where to start. So, I'm looking for somebody to take the lead on this. I would very much like to see a Memphis/West Tennessee Meet and Greet event. I'd like to shake hands and talk face to face some of the many people I've come to know on this forum. How 'bout it? Anybody up for the challenge?1 point

I know we have some others here that are techcentric. I have finally decided I need to let go of my Commodore 128, floppy drive, and joysticks. I have the box for the 128 and the drive with styrofoam for both. The 128 box does have some damage. I do not want to go to the trouble of ebaying them, but I do know they bring good money there. Anyone interested and want to discuss trades or offers? I have pics, but will have to upload later.1 point

I picked up a new-to-me bike this afternoon. Drove 4-hrs each way to stinking Atlanta for a 2014 BMW S1000RR. The amazing thing is that this bike has only 340 miles on it! That's good and bad. Good as I know it's never been thrashed and the paint is perfect. Bad in that it has the original oil and fluids in it. Oil change coming as soon as I can get a filter, and then I'll flush the other fluids soon. Sold my two Ducati Superbikes, so the Beemer is more a less a trade for those two. I'm really jazzed to get the thing out on the road!1 point

Not sure if it’s threaded, but this is one you asked about and I think it’s a good price.1 point

Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~1 point

Antique stores in old small towns seems to be a trend now. I worked in Clinton back in 89 on a construction job.We fished the Clinch River a few times.1 point

With the way things are now, a trust isn’t really as useful as it once was. I would make sure there is some real benefit to your situation before going to the trouble. I have one, but didn’t put my last two suppressors on it.1 point

They are totally evil. Will make you think about nothing but shooting with them. Will quickly drain your bank account because of 9mm ammo purchases. Initially had the m-lok forend version, but prefer the stock forend now. Wonder if a 10mm is in the offing...probably not.1 point

I can see using Blazer aluminum to save money shooting a lot. It is hardly what I would evaluate a firearm with.1 point

I hate you guys! Y'all are bad for my wallet!!! I found a 9mm takedown model (not a Backpacker) on Gun Broker, that just happened to be local. So I went lunch and looked at it. It's used and doesn't have the Glock Mag adapter ($32 from Ruger), but it's in great condition. So it's now in layaway. Also comes with a sling. Here it is. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/9457131311 point

I wouldn't. They complicate your holster options, I've seen them break off of the gun before, and there is really nothing that they offer that can't be accomplished by improving your grip onto the gun with a little trial and error.1 point

You don't pick and try on your wife's shoes. Same for her gun. It's personal. As others have said, the more she can try the better. Don't worry about caliber. It is purely on her comfort level. I have had some pick a .22. Later as they become more proficient and comfortable they may want another gun...we can all agree nothing wrong with that. Greg Elifritz, a nationally known trainer, personally feeds his snub-nose revolvers with 147gr. wadcutters. So let her make the choice. Personal preference and having a firearm are the two most important factors at this point.1 point

Don't you know all the anti-gun people wet their panties when they watched and listened to that Sheriff almost celebrating a woman protecting herself with a firearm and killing the bad guy with a head shot in the middle of the night. Also telling folks that everyone should get a CWP and trained on how to defend themselves with a firearm...................1 point
