  1. Alright, I've had a thread going down in the Club Forums section for about 3 months now. Not much response. So I'll try it here and maybe people will notice. As I already stated, I'm not near organized enough to put something like this together. I wouldn't know where to start. So, I'm looking for somebody to take the lead on this. I would very much like to see a Memphis/West Tennessee Meet and Greet event. I'd like to shake hands and talk face to face some of the many people I've come to know on this forum. How 'bout it? Anybody up for the challenge?

  2. Really? You don't think they'd offer up new border funding or renewed oil drilling to get actual hard hitting gun legislation passed? They'd do it in a heart beat knowing they can kill the funding and revoke the permits before any real work is done. And the GOP would walk right into it like they always do. I used to think it was because the GOP was hapless when it came to political maneuvering, but it happens way too often to not be intentional.

  3. I have a 6mm ARC AR It have around 50 rounds through it and is has just started shooting below an inch but sure it will improve more with a longer break in. It is built with on Aero M4-E1 upper and lower with an Aero bolt carrier group. It has an E.A. Brown 24 inch stainless steel barrel with a 1-7.5 inch twist rate to stabilize the heaviest .243 caliber bullets. I think the Hornady 103 grain ELD-X bullets shot best so far with a 3/4 inch group. It has a Geissele 15 inch MK8 Mlok rail and the Geissele Super Single Precision (SSP) trigger and the Geissele charging handle. Luth-AR adjustable rifle buttstock Hogue pistol grip and 4 boxes of Hornady 105gr HPBT bullets. Any questions call or text 224-402-4433 must meet face to face scope is a Gen 1 Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 FFP MOA held on by a ADM Recon with defender flip caps total package is $1750.00

  4. I have an AR chambered in 6.5 Grendel built with what I think are some of the strongest most reliable parts. It has a 22" stainless Criterion barrel with a VG6 Epsilon 6.5 muzzle brake and a Geissele super gas block with a black melanite rifle length gas tube and a Geissele MK8 15" modular rail. It is in Ballistic Advantage enhanced upper and lower just like Aero M4E1 because they are Ballistic was purchased by Aero a few years ago and started offering BA enhanced receivers. Geissele ambidextrous charging handle Seekins oversized bolt catch Geissele SSA-E trigger. It has a Luth-AR rifle stock that is adjustable for comb and length and has a Hogue pistol grip. Just built the exact same rifle in 6mm ARC so I don't really need this anymore. I don't have 50 rounds through this thing yet I feel like I build faster than I can even break them in. Any questions call or text 224-402-4433 I'm in Baxter the scope is a Crimson Trace Series 2 5x25x56 34 mm tube FFP MOA held on with a ADM Recon total package scope and all is $1700.00

  5. I was going through my late wife's jewelry and came up with a bunch of old watches. Some run, some don't. Just thought I throw them out here to see if anybody was interested. No idea what they're worth. Open to trades on ammo or most anything. Make me an offer! Pardon the pictures, I'm a terrible photographer. They actually look better in person. 1. SOLD 2. Novelty Tweety Bird Watch Watch itself is in excellent condition. Band shows some wear. New battery, works fine and keeps excellent time. No makers name. Copyright date 1994. 3. Geneva Classic Series: This is one of the better tier Geneva watches. Best guess: 20-30 years old? Excellent condition. new battery, keeps perfect time.

  6. Kimber Custom LW Night Patrol 45 Auto (ACP) Luger 5in Black Pistol - 7+1 Rounds - Kimber's line of 1911 handguns are some of the best on the market, and the Custom LW Night Patrol is no exception! This handsome 1911 features a sleek black finish on the slide, and a gray KimPro II finish on the frame. These two color schemes contrast perfectly against each other and give the Custom LW Night Patrol a distinct and elegantly simple appearance. Other features include Hogue rubber grips with checkered texturing, and 2-dot rear sights with a red fiber optic front sight. As with all of Kimber's 1911s, the Custom LW Night Patrol is equipped with a match grade stainless steel barrel and a match grade trigger. That is the description from Sportsmans Warehouse where I bought it less than a year ago I only took it out once and it shot incredible. Any questions call or text 224-402-4433 It comes in the factory box with three extra Kimber factory magazines must meet face to face

  7. Love mine, currently with a cheap red dot, but the best accessory is the Magpul Backpacker stock. Also like being able to swap the bolt handle to the left side.

  8. Metal finish is 100%, wood is near same with some finish relief as shown in pics. Appears to have a very low round count, barrel is perfect. Would prefer to sell with ammo as a combo, 136 rounds. $750 with ammo or $500 without. Shipping at cost, I expect ammo to be around $35 and rifle at $25, ammo direct and rifle to your FFL. Or will be happy with a F2F here in E TN. 423.237.8203 or jeepmurphy@gmail.com

  10. Yeah it was in the list but I’m just not ready to commit that much on my first bag. I want to make sure this sticks then I may pony up. The GR1 looks like a really nice bag.

  13. I think they covered everything I would suggest. It's a beautiful area and the lake is huge. You'd need a few days to see the whole thing. I have a scar on my head I got at Norris Dam as a baby. If you end up on your boat, there should be a few restaurants on the water to eat at unless it's in the off season.

  14. Well it took some time and a couple of other scopes but I finally made it up to a nightforce. Took it out today and shot my best group thus far with the rifle. I’ve shot it in a few Benchrest matches locally and I’ve shot a best of .61 moa in that. This is only 100 yards but tops my .61 moa.

  17. I appreciate the clarification. It seems a lot of people have had problems with these out of the box, luckily this one seems to run pretty good. I just ordered some parts from cylinder&slide hoping to clean up this trigger. I will try to keep everyone updated on this over the next couple of months. If anyone wants and specific pictures or has questions about it feel free to reach out.

  19. Check military surplus. I've got an old U.S, ALICE back pack that is my "get home" bag. Not overly big, but is quite roomy for its size. Midway USA carries a pretty good assortment of surplus gear.

  21. I shouldn’t have posted my feedback because it was Alum ammo? You didn’t read where I said this is what I had laying around when I took it to the range… I am nearing 1k rounds through it with no issues since those 3 in the original post. Blazer Alum/brass Speer lawman 124gr and some steel case. This gun will be used in less desirable conditions during RnG events in all weather conditions and water crossings. I need it to work with decent ammo and cheap ammo so evaluating under perfect conditions with only the best ammo is not useful for me. This gun will be beat on.

  23. It's become very difficult to find US made items like this. My Vertx bag checks most of your boxes though. It doesn't look tactical. I used it to fly to Spain and back and I also use it to haul my laptop when I go into the office. I don't think anyone notices it. I used the coupon code that Last Line of Defense has for this brand. I think it got me 20% off.

  35. This is interesting. Not very far from me. I guess I'll go check it out. I found that the promoter is Great American Promotions They tried a couple of shows in Memphis before. I wasn't really impressed. But the venue that they had then was too small and crowded. Maybe they'll do better in Somerville. RK lost their venue in Memphis. Last I heard they haven't found a new place yet. No shows in a while now and none scheduled on their site. So I guess this is all we got. I hope it doesn't suck. Go to Great American's web site and you can print out a $1 off coupon.

  36. OMG, it's back!!! Well, to add my two cents in (again), I finally broke down and bought the Tisas 1911a1 U.S. Army and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! It's not an exact replica of the pistol I carried in Desert Storm, but it's close enough for government work and nostalgia for me! There are some minor differences like the hammer and the ejection port not being cut exactly the same way. Not going to say it a tack driver, because like my old service pistol (which was rebuilt prior to leaving Ft. Bragg for Saudi Arabia), it's not. The service grade 1911s were known for minute of man and that what this is. Fit and function are the same. I'm sure I could spend a lot of money and add a bunch of parts and have some machining done and make it into a much more accurate pistol, but that wasn't what I wanted for. And if it had been, I'd have just bought a more expensive and tricked out version. I still think that we should look at taking TISAS out of the title. While Tanker's 1911, might have been a stinker, I'm really not sure that is apropos to the brand or to their 1911s anymore. I can think of another brand 1911 that is still around, that costs twice as much as the TISAS, that was a much worse version of the 1911 and it was and still is made here in the good ole USA. It now has a much better reputation, though you'd have a hard time getting me to ever fork over any money to buy one, and that's the Auto Ordnance. But much like Tanker's experience, that's mine from 30 years ago and everyone else's experience with the brand might be different, especially now.

  37. We actually do have state supremacy with regards to firearms laws in Tennessee. The issue with things like the metal detectors at the fairgrounds are actually a specific carve out granted in the statutes by the state. Signs carrying the force of law is something that many of us find obnoxious and have worked for a long time to change. I would strongly suggest joining and supporting the TFA as they are doing all of the heavy lifting in the fight for that change. The way the TICS system works is fairly obnoxious and I won’t argue with that. However, I will say that in the grand scheme of things, there are better places to spend political capital to make changes in the near and mid-term. The lack of public land that is open and available to shoot on is something that I always make sure that I warn people of who are considering moving here from out west. Public land just simply doesn’t exist in the manner in which it does where you are from. State parks and other public lands here generally are set up for a much higher density of usage than required for the millions upon millions of open acres that you find out west. It sucks, but it is what it is. As far as the carryi of loaded long guns, which is illegal in Tennessee unless directly connected to sporting activity, I too would like to see some change within that realm. That said, you were coming from one of the last vestiges of western culture that exist in this country, and until California started screwing everything up coming in from the West Coast, you generally had a spectrum from very urban to very not going from east to west. The cultures reflected that. The more urbanized the area, the less acceptable that sort of behavior is Not because it’s wrong, it’s just unusual in an urban setting. On that note, the greater metro Nashville area has a greater population than the entirety of the state of Idaho. It may surprise some, but even the very rule parts of Tennessee are very densely populated in comparison to much of the western states that are mostly owned by the federal government. So, I’m not trying to shut you down or tell you you were wrong. Just provide a little context from the perspective of somebody who has spent significant amounts of time out west as well as being from this area. You do bring up things that absolutely could be better. I strongly recommend supporting the Tennessee Firearms Association’s work if you would like to see progress made on those fronts.
