I had this talk with my Wife years ago about this. I asked her to please fight back. She looked at me like I was an idiot and told me if they were going to kill her, they'd have to do it on the spot. I only asked that she have an empty mag when it was over. I need to have this talk with my Daughter. She once asked me if monsters existed. I told her they did, but they don't look like they do in the movies. She asked me what they looked like and my Wife told her "They look like your Father, your teacher, or your neighbors". It's very important that you don't look like a victim.6 points

To reiterate what @Erik88said: This case is another reminder to do everything you can to impress upon the women in your lives that if somebody attempts to force them into a vehicle or take them to another location they need to fight like their very lives depend upon it right then and there. Because they do.3 points

I am pretty sure it doesn't matter here in TN but as Danger Rane said a BOS tucked in the safe sounds like it could go a long way to giving your friend peace of mind.3 points

Moving to new location at the end of the year and cleaning out my stuff. Bunch of accessories, some guns and couple of cans. Most are brand new or barely used. Will have some food and drinks. Stop by and grab a burger or dog and say hi and bring cash RSVP below if you’re coming so I can get enough food. RSVP2 points

She was five miles or so from her house. If she had already clocked five miles, she was probably in no shape to put up much of a fight. Since I run some (although not at Fletcher's level), I've thought about this quite a bit and never run without a weapon. Or two. If I get jumped at mile 4 of 5, I will be less willing/able to knuckle with an attacker. I don't look like Psycho Sid, but I probably present a more challenging target than Fletcher did and I still go armed. My wife's friend said she would never carry a weapon while running and acted like the idea was ridiculous. I just don't get the head-in-the-sand mentality.2 points

If you’re worried, do a simple bill of sale and backdate it to when you both lived here, since that’s when the decision to transfer to you took place. As others have said, not necessary for anything but peace of mind.2 points

To my knowledge, this is not even a thing in TN. If he’s worried about it you guys could come up with a bill of sale as proof that he passed ownership to you.2 points

Got one a few months ago. Standard type stock. Fun to shoot and accurate for a pistol caliber carbine. I put on a low power shotgun scope and at 50 yard shots are in about a two inch group. I have bad shoulders so this will be my new "big gun".1 point

Posting just so I don't miss out on internet history. RIP Tanker - you may he dead (or not) but your wackiness lives on. Banned but not forgotten. Better to burn out than fade away... I feel compelled to get a SS Tisas 1911 just to 'live the moment' & experience the genius / disaster of the gun (as the chips may fall) for myself. This thread may have sold more Tisas than the original Guns & Ammo article. Now THAT'S saavy marketing. Well done Tanker, well done.1 point

They do. In the Ruger PC G19 mags look silly and the 33 round mags look absurd. The 24 round mags are perfect. They really tie the looks of a rather homely carbine together.1 point

Selling my Glock 26 for $450. I upgraded the slide lock. Slightly larger than the factory lock but it gives you a little more purchase to release the slide for removal. Slide release has been upgraded also. The release is swooped back and slightly extended. It gives you a slightly larger purchase and makes reloads a little bit easier. Rubber Talon grips installed. Haley Strategic 13 slights installed. All metal sights with a tritium insert on the front sight and blacked out rear sight. The slights are grooved to help in reducing glare. The gun will come with 5 magazines. 3 factory mags, 2 with pinky extension and one stock. 2 more magpul mags.1 point

You make a very good point. Her family absolutely falls into the category of being the elite. They have the means and ability to ensure that his tenure as DA is very short-lived call if he doesn’t throw the full force and weight of his office against the perpetrator(s).1 point

No body makes the murder charge a hell of a lot harder. The body location will sure as hell work as a great bargaining chip to avoid death row.1 point

Imaaaaaaaaagine that. The a-hole could at least tell the police where the body is.1 point

Kentucky Gun Company must have got a huge batch of the .45's. They are selling them for $319. SDS IMPORTS 1911-A1 45 ACP 5in Black 7rd » KYGUNCO1 point

Yeah, they swapped to a flat faced trigger similar to the Apex on the Shield Plus, hoping to see the same trend with these newer models.1 point

One of the classics that every serious gun owner should have in their collection. Beautiful example you have there. Congratulations!1 point

Last I heard demand was still very high. Springfield is giving Stocking Dealers first priority too. Just gotta keep your eyes open and jump when the chance hits. That's how I got mine.1 point

On the bright side though, I got all the metalwork done today & my pillars arrived from Midway. I'm hoping to set the pillars tomorrow, skim bed the action on Monday & get to the range next weekend!1 point

I have one and sometimes wish I didn’t. They are entirely too much fun and quite accurate. It’s like a Pez dispenser for ammo. Mine is the basic model with a “traditional” stock. It wears a Sig Romeo 5 on top. Wish I could shoot it every day. Basically, I highly recommend.1 point

https://gatekeeperammo.com/?product=arm-12-gauge-460gr-counterstrike-defense-the-gatekeeper See more about them at the link above. They retail for $5.75 per round plus tax and shipping. I am asking $4 per round locally. I shot one of them into a series of water jugs and you can see in the pic how well they expand. FTF Transaction preferred in or near Murfreesboro. I am also interested in trades for other ammo in 9mm, 45 ACP, and 7.62x51.1 point

If what is being posted on social media is to be believed this situation is starting to sound like the plot of a movie on the Lifetime channel including a massive inheritance, drug addiction, and the nanny.1 point

It boils down to situational awareness. It may not stop a crime, but it may keep you from being the victim. I was sitting in my truck yesterday while my wife grabbed a pick up order. Two young dudes where walking all over the parking lot. They eventually came and stood in front of my truck talking. At that time I held my P365 in my lap and made eye contact with them. They walked off, but they were still walking all over the parking lot when we left. Typical of my wife, see didn’t see the big deal.1 point

You and I spoke about this area before because it's where my wife and I stayed when we visited Memphis a few years ago. I saw this story on the news earlier and told her a woman was taken from the same road we walked down. I felt safe staying there. I've told my wife many times that if someone tries to force you into a vehicle, fight like your life depends on it. I hope this woman is found safe.1 point

Mine is the Broomhandle Mauser...why? I grew up with a Dad that was constantly gun trading and one of my duties was to clean the guns. I saw heaps of firearms come and go but for some reason I was intrigued by the Broomhandle Mausers. I saw 45s, I saw Lugers, but the Broomhandle had this sort of mysticism to it. I now own two and I'm a happy puppy.1 point

I thought the Black Pansys broke up in the late 70's after the police raids and bad press? Oh, and I'm not sure how much alcohol Letereat! had, but Charlie Sheen drank enough to kill 2 and a Half men. (It took 20 pages, but finally a Charlie Sheen reference, #winning!!!) Mac1 point
