Finds a an acorn. I've been considering one of these for a while now. Tempted by the one currently in the classifieds. But its too far away. Single actions and I generally just don't get along. But I keep trying. Probably owned a half dozen or more over the years. Ended up selling them all. Saw this one on Armslist this morning. Asking price was $180. Just on a whim I e-mailed the guy and offered $150. HE TOOK IT! As of about an hour ago, I'm now the proud owner of a Ruger Wrangler! The gun is LNIB. Includes all paperwork, etc. Not a mark on it. I can't tell if its ever been fired. I'm plumb tickled pink! However, my usual luck is holding. Can't get to the range tomorrow and long range forecast calls for a 40-60% chance of rain every day for the next week. No idea when I might get a chance to try it out. But I got a great deal!4 points

It boils down to situational awareness. It may not stop a crime, but it may keep you from being the victim. I was sitting in my truck yesterday while my wife grabbed a pick up order. Two young dudes where walking all over the parking lot. They eventually came and stood in front of my truck talking. At that time I held my P365 in my lap and made eye contact with them. They walked off, but they were still walking all over the parking lot when we left. Typical of my wife, see didn’t see the big deal.2 points

Have some exciting ventures going on and wanting to raise some additional capital, so one of the collection pieces is up for sale. This is a Bulgarian kit (yes original barrel) that was built as a group buy on the AKForum years ago. The kit is built on a Nodak receiver and has the ALG trigger installed. I might have the original tapco trigger kit but have no idea where it would be. I have not been able to determine the nationality / mount pattern of the side rail, I believe it is Chinese as my RS Regulate mount for standard AKM mount does not fully engage. Comes with sling, bayonet, Plum Izzy mag, and two commercial Bulgarian mags. $1900 in the greater Middle TN area.1 point

Sold. Thanks TGO $425 Excellent Condition 1996 production year The Ruger P series is a line of centerfire semi-automatic made by Sturm, Ruger & Company produced from 1985 to 2013. The P-series pistols were designed for military, police, civilian and recreational use. The designs are largely based on the Browning action found in the M1911 Pistol, but with minor variations, generally related to the safety mechanism and the barrel-camblock interface. Reviews have considered them rugged, reliable, and strong.1 point

My wife and I had this same conversation/reminder this morning and that was before we heard about this abduction. Two days ago, another woman and her kid were kidnapped at Target on Hwy 64 and forced to withdraw money from a nearby bank. They are lucky to be alive. There is no such thing as a safe area.1 point

So I just watched about 4 hours of videos on the two types (with this long sucker being one of my favorites: ) and after all that I decided to go with single stage which I never thought I'd do but it doesn't look near as bad as I thought and pretty fun.1 point

Sorta surprised no one has mentioned this on the forums yet, but a few days ago Ruger released the Ruger LC Carbine (in 5.7x28mm): https://ruger.com/products/lcCarbine/models.html I've always said that if someone came out with a reasonably priced 5.7 matched pair, I'd buy them. So a LC Carbine and Ruger-5.7 pistol are on their way.1 point

Because is gets expensive hosting all the large pics. Most people use one of the free site to host the pics and them link them here. I use postimg.cc I like that site and it makes it very easy to post pics.1 point

OMG, it's back!!! Well, to add my two cents in (again), I finally broke down and bought the Tisas 1911a1 U.S. Army and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! It's not an exact replica of the pistol I carried in Desert Storm, but it's close enough for government work and nostalgia for me! There are some minor differences like the hammer and the ejection port not being cut exactly the same way. Not going to say it a tack driver, because like my old service pistol (which was rebuilt prior to leaving Ft. Bragg for Saudi Arabia), it's not. The service grade 1911s were known for minute of man and that what this is. Fit and function are the same. I'm sure I could spend a lot of money and add a bunch of parts and have some machining done and make it into a much more accurate pistol, but that wasn't what I wanted for. And if it had been, I'd have just bought a more expensive and tricked out version. I still think that we should look at taking TISAS out of the title. While Tanker's 1911, might have been a stinker, I'm really not sure that is apropos to the brand or to their 1911s anymore. I can think of another brand 1911 that is still around, that costs twice as much as the TISAS, that was a much worse version of the 1911 and it was and still is made here in the good ole USA. It now has a much better reputation, though you'd have a hard time getting me to ever fork over any money to buy one, and that's the Auto Ordnance. But much like Tanker's experience, that's mine from 30 years ago and everyone else's experience with the brand might be different, especially now.1 point

Hi TNGO! Figured I should learn to plug the perforations so I popped out to a Stop The Bleed course in the East Tennessee area(Maryville) a few months ago. Wasn’t sure how many folks would be in the class and to my surprise it was just me that Saturday AM. Instructor was ex-EMT and Fire and I was fortunate to receive 4 hours of one-on-one training which helped develop my bandaging and tourniquet skills. Highly recommend, it’s more likely to be needed than your sidearm! Check out my dude! https://www.facebook.com/ResponseReadyLLC/ Cheers, JV1 point

Kinda hits home because I run in the early AM too, often in the dark. There are much worse neighborhoods than Central@Zach Curlin, but anything can happen anywhere any time. I bet she had headphones, was often oblivious to her surroundings, and thought "I've never had any trouble." I hope she is alive. https://www.actionnews5.com/2022/09/02/woman-missing-reportedly-kidnapped/0 points

I’m becoming more and more convinced that some VP over design or marketing has already moved to Maryville and has taken up drinking with the old timers down at the VFW.0 points
