  2. Selling my 2015 New Holland Workmaster 35. It's got very low hours (68 total) and in perfect working condition. It's been stored out of the weather but does have very slight fading on the hood. I've hand waxed every inch of this machine and treated all the plastic with Armorall regularly. Comes with all the implements shown. Farm Equipment box blade with rippers, front bucket. Trailer is not included. Selling because we don't use it around the farm as much as we thought. 10-15 hrs have been driving my daughter around on my lap. Great machine, it's a workhorse. All the paperwork and service records are available. Asking $15,000 obo I can work something out with the buyer if you need it delivered. Thanks for looking. Shoot me a PM if you're interested or have any questions. Jon

  3. The last time I shipped anything, UPS and Fedex required that the sender or the receiver be an FFL (one or the other). Otherwise, returning something to Smith & Wesson, Ruger, etc for service would be all but impossible. Where are you getting your information?

  5. This Outdoorsman is a S&W 5-screw, "pre-Model 23" made in 1955 with matching serial numbers. It has an exceptional finish with slight wear. The only rust I found is a small spot on the butt near the serial number. The N-frame is, of course, capable of handling higher than standard pressure .38 Special rounds. Sorry, the original box is long gone. I'm offering it at $1200 firm to members with a valid TDL or EHCP. Knoxville area, no trades.

  6. 300 Blackout 10.5" barrel (Palmetto State Armory upper), Lower is marked " Waterboard Instructor ". Parts kit is premium PSA kit. Build has Olight Odin installed with pressure pad. Also has adjustable pistol brace, and quick release bolt release. Optic is Eotech holographic, and gun has been refinished 2 months ago with high tech Gunkote finish. Total cost I have in this package is 1933.00. I am looking for 1800.00 and I am willing to sell without the Eotech for 1350.00. Final price drop: Gun without optic, sling, and light 950.00.

  7. Selling my Glock 26 for $450. I upgraded the slide lock. Slightly larger than the factory lock but it gives you a little more purchase to release the slide for removal. Slide release has been upgraded also. The release is swooped back and slightly extended. It gives you a slightly larger purchase and makes reloads a little bit easier. Rubber Talon grips installed. Haley Strategic 13 slights installed. All metal sights with a tritium insert on the front sight and blacked out rear sight. The slights are grooved to help in reducing glare. The gun will come with 5 magazines. 3 factory mags, 2 with pinky extension and one stock. 2 more magpul mags.

  9. How the hell has this not sold? I paid more than this for my model M918, plain Jane black, no fluted or threaded barrel. Come on guys. If my old eyes could use a red dot sight I would have bought the whole package.

  10. I've got a Staccato C2 DPO (optics ready) and carry it often. If this 1911DS from Springfield doesn't suck, I can see myself buying one so as to have a less expensive option for carry purposes. The problem with Springfield is that you can buy two of the same gun from them and one will be perfect and trouble-free, and the other might be a complete trainwreck. I'm going to be interested in seeing how this one shakes out.

  11. I’ve got a beautiful classic 1911 in 45 ACP. If you know anything about Para, this one was made in the original factory before Remington bought the brand. It was my old man’s and I love looking at it but that is about all I do is look at it and don’t give it the love it deserves. It’s got less than 200 rounds down it. 3 para mags come with it, 2 are unopened still. Has box, manual and everything else. I’ve got a few hundred rounds as well that I can throw into a trade if interested. I’m looking to get into a black sig p320 carry in 9mm. Open to any reasonable trades that include the sig or a cash offer if interested.

  13. I'm not on this forum much, so don't take my word for it. You can google this stuff. Read info on reliable medical sites only, then cross-check. Allopurinol acts on the enzyme that is implicated in gout. There are now alternative Rxs, but Allopurinol is generic and inexpensive. Corticosteroids, NSAIDS and Colchicine only provide anti-inflammatory action. Research purines, guanine phosphoribosyl transferase and xanthine oxidase for more in-depth info. Having been told that you actually have gout, you should take assertive measures; do more than eat cherries. Another poster mentioned kidney stones, which is also a concern. Just as background: I sold branded pharmaceuticals which provided a good bit of education on researching medicine. I have had gout for about 25 years, I suffered through incorrect diagnosis and several medical problems from incorrect treatment because Uric Acid levels were borderline. I have taken Allopurinol for 12 years with neither gout attacks nor side effects and I still eat spinach, organ meat and other high purine foods (but I'm sensible.) Good luck.

  21. Firearms are a huge business in this country. I have faith that the various makers and FFLs have worked this out. Like I said, when it actually becomes a problem, let me know.

  22. If S&W gives you a label to ship back to them then in essence THEY are shipping it and you are just dropping it off. I had both Taurus (I paid for the label) and Springfield (they paid for the label) send me a shipping label in the past. My local FFL stopped shipping things for people recently after a very expensive gun went missing in shipping. He said it is not worth the $15 over shipping he charged. Dealing with an insurance claim with any major carrier is a test of patience on a good day. I dealt with both sellers in OR and WA where they must by state law ship via a FFL and the FFLs out there charge $100 and up PLUS shipping in many cases. That basically makes a huge section of guns unprofitable to ship.

  23. You know that’s not how the world works. A perceived problem is just as bad as a potential real problem. (sarcasm) But I do see this as a potential real problem.

  24. My panties are not in a wad, but I can read and this is a big change. What you were able to do in the past is irrelevant. The scenario you describe above about taking your package to a local UPS distribution center is no longer an option. Shipping a gun to Cajun Gun Works or Primary Machine to get the slide milled and the frame cerakoted is no longer an option, unless they agree to provide you with a Fedex label, and that is usually only for warranty issues. So again, if nothing has really changed, where does someone with a pre-printed UPS label take their gun? How do I send something to CGW for some custom work?
    1 point
  25. The original question was about sending firearms in for service. Any gun I've sent in in the past has never been a problem. I did have to take the package to the local distribution center as the storefront places aren't supposed to take firearms. But that was no big deal. Most every town has at least one distribution center. Often, I'm given the choice to have the package picked-up at my home, although I personally never have used that option. This sort of thing pops up pretty regularly every time UPS or Fed Ex makes any kind of policy change on firearms. AFAIK, its never proven to be a problem. Guns are shipped every day and continue to be. My point is why worry and get your panties all in a wad until it actually proves to be a problem? So, has anybody had a problem?

  26. What if you are not shipping to a maker? And where does someone with a pre-printed UPS label take their gun?
    1 point
  27. If the maker sends you a pre-paid label, they are the shipper and do meet all the requirements. The only thing that changes is the place of origin. I really don't see a problem here. Much ado about nothing. When and if somebody actually has a problem, let us know. Speculation at this point is worthless.

  28. UPS and FedEx both have more business right now than they can handle. This allows them to be more selective in who they service. I don't think they ever wanted to serve firearms owners but needed the revenue. Now they think they no longer need us. So now they are kicking us to the curb.

  31. I shipped a gun back to Walther last year. They sent me a prepaid label. I took the gun in a box to my local FedEx and shipped it. They then shipped it back to my house without issue.
    1 point
  32. Not anymore. That’s my point. UPS, like FedEx, will no longer accept a firearm from a non-FFL. A manufacturer providing a shipping label to an individual is no longer a thing as none of the carriers will accept the firearm from the individual.
    1 point
  33. Generally when sending a firearm in for service, you contact the maker, company or provider first. Making all arrangements prior to shipping. More often than not, they will e-mail you a pre-paid shipping label. Simply attach that to the package and drop off at the named carrier.

  36. I suppose I have attended my last fair. Looks like Wilson County has adopted policies from Nashville and forgotten their roots. I have attended the fair every year for the past 20+ and carried a concealed pistol every year without an issue. Now that the "State Fair" has crashed the party, the anti-gun crowd has taken over. Maybe I'll spend the money (that would have been spent at the fair) on ammo instead of fried everything. JMHO

  37. Sure, Retirement. 52 years old, 18 years of Federal Service (Army and Civilian) and counting. Seeking out a place to enjoy my pension and retirement in the next few years. No family left any longer (family had sold off the mountain properties and what not over the years). For the wife (from ranchland of Oregon) and I (mountains of Idaho), parents had passed, extended family not really close. Army burned me of deserts. All of Southern Idaho is desert. Snow. Got too old to really want to deal with snow and months of sub-zero temperatures. Playing in the snow (snowmobiles) required a 3-hour drive from the Boise valley. Crime. MS13 moved in with the Californians and brought daily gang shootings (red vs. blue) at the convience stores, drug deals over my back fence and local LE had no clue how or desire to deal with it. Home invasions, car thefts, heavy (why we live in Stewart County now) also, I feel safer driving in Nashville now than I did in the Boise Metro area. Water. Lakes there are crap, at least the lowland ones. Wanted to live near more natural water and natural green(refernce the desert comment above). Longer warm weather. We like riding motorcycles and more summer activities than winter. Had an Army buddy settle here from his time at Ft. Campbell. We visited a few times and Stewart County reminds me alot of the small county I grew up in. Property value (Don't hate me over this one becuase I know it is an evil we helped perpetuate.) We sold our urban, suburb, 1200 sq ft house on 1/8 acre that we still owed on and had enough left over to pay cash for 2 acres, 1800 sq ft, build a shop, pay off the cars, pay cash for a new bike, used boat, and stuff a bunch of money in the bank. So that's it.

  38. As Chucktshoes has hinted at in a most diplomatic fashion, most of these issues you've identified are already well known to us here, and are things we've been trying to improve for years. (Except for the lack of BLM land -- there's none in Tennessee.) The TFA has helped a lot on most of the political issues you mention. Lend a hand, especially if you plan to stay here with us. Cheers, Whisper
