Okay, I just threw up a gigantic 'Screw It' & ordered a pillar bedding kit. Time to pull up my big boy panties & learn. Mostly, because I just got my barreled action back, sights & sling band ordered, all the bluing stripped & lopped 4" off the end of the stock. I'm waaaaay too impatient to faff around waiting 2 months for a gunsmith. If it goes wrong though, I'm blaming y'all. You're a bad influence.2 points

I think the form 4473 simply states: have you been adjudicated as a mental defective by a court. My grandson has the same issue and is a straight “A” student in his senior year. The form is available online to review.2 points

Smith & Wesson Military & Police 1st Model of 1899. More often simply called the Model of 1899. The lack of a locking lug at the front of the ejector rod and the round butt are specific to this model. This was the original .38 Special as both the cartridge and the gun were introduced that year. This is the beginning of the entire M&P and later Model 10 line. Manufactured from 1899 to 1902. If you give me the serial number on the bottom of the butt, I may be able to find the exact year.2 points

SOLD Selling my unfired Geissele Super Duty Pistol in Luna Black. It has Troy HK style flip up sights on it that will go with the gun. This gun has been a safe queen since I bought it with the intention of SBR'ing it but never filled paperwork and moved on to other projects. I'll let it go for $1,700. These are hard to come by lately on palmetto or Geissele direct and don't come with sights. I can meet in the greater Nashville area as I work downtown and live in Lebanon but would prefer to meet at my office which is well exposed and has ample places to do this off of Hermitage Ave. I can come to you but would request meeting in some sort of public place. Cash Only. Thanks for looking1 point

Selling my Glock 26 for $450. I upgraded the slide lock. Slightly larger than the factory lock but it gives you a little more purchase to release the slide for removal. Slide release has been upgraded also. The release is swooped back and slightly extended. It gives you a slightly larger purchase and makes reloads a little bit easier. Rubber Talon grips installed. Haley Strategic 13 slights installed. All metal sights with a tritium insert on the front sight and blacked out rear sight. The slights are grooved to help in reducing glare. The gun will come with 5 magazines. 3 factory mags, 2 with pinky extension and one stock. 2 more magpul mags.1 point

Selling my Gen 4 Glock 19. I still have the original box and all the paper work. I am selling the pistol and two factory 15 rd magazines. The has a APEX trigger installed, the pull weight hasn't changed. The new trigger included a new metal flat trigger shoe with a trigger bar. The bar is polished. The trigger has a smoother feel. Ameri-glo sights installed. Red front fiber sight and green dot in the rear. Upgraded slide lock. The new one is slightly larger than the factory one. Still fits a standard holster with no issue. The upgrade gives you a little bit more of purchase to remove this slide. In the Mt Juliet area. Face to fact meet with the buyer signing a bill of sale.1 point

You ever read a thread with extreme long distance precision shooters talking about setups and loadings? You can’t convince me that the Venn diagram of those guys and being on the spectrum isn’t just a circle.1 point

If high functioning autism with no history of propensity for violence was grounds for denying firearms rights, the gun community would be a whole lot smaller. Just saying.1 point

No plates, not individual slides. One slide fits almost them all. It’s milled for direct mounting for essentially all major footprints. It utilizes a spacer that goes in front or behind the optic depending on the footprint. https://shadowsystemscorp.com/opticcut/1 point

I took this course with Randy Harris of Harris Combatives last Sunday. Total of 8 students with a couple of them from out of state. I will add that I have trained with Randy probably about 10 classes previously. He never disappoints. Randy is an excellent instructor and a trainer that is also an excellent shooter, (bio...http://harriscombative.com/) I will also add that I have trained with some of the top names in the industry and Randy is respected in that group as well. As the saying goes, 'you don't know what you don't know'. Classes such as these not only expand one's toolbox, but also tests your equipment before it has to be used on your worst day. This class is not for a beginner. One should have the basics of gun handling and safety as a fundamental basic. We started out with a short classsroom session with a review of safety and why it is important to understand why one must not break two of the basic rules of safety simultaneously in such a contained space as an automobile to avoid injury to self or others. Closed space gunfighting is certainly not the same as shooting targets on a square range. We did all drills initially 'dry' using chairs individually as well as in pairs to simulate an auto. We then proceeded to live fire. The target -BG- was in a fixed position, but chairs were moved to simulate varying positions of shooting from drivers seat with the BG being to both sides of the car, front and back, as well as getting out of the car and moving to different positions. After the chair sessions we broke for lunch. After lunch we moved to our own personal vehicles and ran all drills 'dry'. Then just as we did on the range we moved to live fire from our own vehicles. We each took turns shooting at a reactive BG target dressed with clothing. GOOD hits caused the target to fall....wash, rinse and repeat 3-4 repetitions on each position. The 'final' run was done with a passenger in the car. As a driver we addressed removing the seatbelt, safe draw-stroke, and shooting across the front of a seated passenger as well as out the rear passenger window. Passengers of course get an unique experience at this time as well. Also no vehicles were damaged in this course ! We had a full day, about 10 hrs to cover this course. Randy definitely gives you your money's worth. This course has a lot of movement, was unique in the depth of discussion and experience compared to other courses that scraped the surface of vehicle combatives. I can highly recommend Randy for your training needs, from basic skills to advanced including shotguns and rifles, along with easy access and reasonable costs.1 point

An old man accidentally crashed his car into a very expensive automobile. The owner of the expensive automobile jumps out and confronts the old man and says “Give me $10,000 cash or I will beat you to a pulp!” The old man replies, “Woah, wait buddy, I don’t have that much money but let me call my son, he trains dolphins.” The old man dials his son and as he is about to speak, the owner of the expensive car yanks the phone out of his hand and says “So you train dolphins, well your old man just hit and damaged my car, you bring me $10,000 or I’m gonna beat the heck outta him!” The son answers “Okay, give me 15 minutes and I’ll be there.” In exactly 15 minutes the son pulls up in a jeep, ten men jump out and beat the hell out of the expensive car owner. Meanwhile the son walks over to his father and says “Dad I train Navy Seals not dolphins"1 point

I have a CVA Squirrel .32, it's pretty accurate and like you haven't shot it in a couple years. Very fun, but as you say a pain especially compared to the .50 and .54. Never thought about deer hunting with it though. RP1 point

The Shadow Systems optics cut does not require the use of plates. It allows for direct mounting of different optics using different footprints. The elimination of plates affords a couple of advantages. One, it eliminates a failure point. As you mentioned, the MOS plates suck. Even the C&H plates have reports (though far fewer) of issues. Two, by the optic sitting lower in the slide, it means you don’t have to use skyscraper high suppressor height iron sights. The irons on the SS guns are just the tiniest smidge higher than standard irons. There are also a lot of other small features that may be more subjective in their benefit for the individual shooter. Things like undercut trigger guard, (better) grip texture/shape/angle, trigger, etc.1 point

I’m transitioning from factory Glocks to the Shadow Systems offerings, which I have found to be superior “clones” thus far. In my opinion Glock is slacking when compared to keeping up with the features of its competitors. The only think they have done to the slide in the last 30 years is some shallow front serrations and a mediocre MOS cut. I’m always carried Glocks, and for what I’ve spent to make them comparable to a shadow systems pistol would cost almost double the MSRP on a shadow systems.1 point

My daughter has a 300 fourtrax I bought new in 1995 , no telling how many miles it has on it. Still in great shape and runs like a new one. It will start in any temperature weather without having to choke it. The 300’s are the best Honda ever made! BULLETPROOF!1 point
