  1. This thread originally started out as just my curiosity, but sorta got away from me. I've learned a lot here, so thanks for that. But as I've said all along, I'm just not an AR guy. I had both rifles at the range on Thursday. Capbyrd was kind enough to give me an accu-wedge to try. Thanks again Sir! I think it helped a little, but no great improvement. I do realize that I am gonna have to start reloading 5.56. But I currently have other irons in the fire. I'll get to that eventually. I've come to the conclusion that both rifles are combat accurate and that's good enough for me. So I'm just gonna live with 'em as they are. Thanks again to everybody who contributed to this thread. Its been quite informative.

  2. I took this course with Randy Harris of Harris Combatives last Sunday. Total of 8 students with a couple of them from out of state. I will add that I have trained with Randy probably about 10 classes previously. He never disappoints. Randy is an excellent instructor and a trainer that is also an excellent shooter, (bio...http://harriscombative.com/) I will also add that I have trained with some of the top names in the industry and Randy is respected in that group as well. As the saying goes, 'you don't know what you don't know'. Classes such as these not only expand one's toolbox, but also tests your equipment before it has to be used on your worst day. This class is not for a beginner. One should have the basics of gun handling and safety as a fundamental basic. We started out with a short classsroom session with a review of safety and why it is important to understand why one must not break two of the basic rules of safety simultaneously in such a contained space as an automobile to avoid injury to self or others. Closed space gunfighting is certainly not the same as shooting targets on a square range. We did all drills initially 'dry' using chairs individually as well as in pairs to simulate an auto. We then proceeded to live fire. The target -BG- was in a fixed position, but chairs were moved to simulate varying positions of shooting from drivers seat with the BG being to both sides of the car, front and back, as well as getting out of the car and moving to different positions. After the chair sessions we broke for lunch. After lunch we moved to our own personal vehicles and ran all drills 'dry'. Then just as we did on the range we moved to live fire from our own vehicles. We each took turns shooting at a reactive BG target dressed with clothing. GOOD hits caused the target to fall....wash, rinse and repeat 3-4 repetitions on each position. The 'final' run was done with a passenger in the car. As a driver we addressed removing the seatbelt, safe draw-stroke, and shooting across the front of a seated passenger as well as out the rear passenger window. Passengers of course get an unique experience at this time as well. Also no vehicles were damaged in this course ! We had a full day, about 10 hrs to cover this course. Randy definitely gives you your money's worth. This course has a lot of movement, was unique in the depth of discussion and experience compared to other courses that scraped the surface of vehicle combatives. I can highly recommend Randy for your training needs, from basic skills to advanced including shotguns and rifles, along with easy access and reasonable costs.

  3. It was no accident. It was negligence. The guy who pulled the trigger should be arrested for wreckless endangerment. At some point you have to make an example of people.

  4. Good evening, and hello from middle Tennessee. My family and I are among the California exodus, and happy to finally be living in America. I’m a school teacher by trade, and carry concealed (Colt King Cobra .357 mostly, but a Glock 30s or 1911 .45acp occasionally) when legally allowed (i.e.- not at work). I grew up in rural central CA, and purchased my first revolver (black powder) as an 8th grader, my first rifle as a 10th grader, and my first shotgun as an 11th grader. Happy to be here!

  10. This gun is never used and only sits in the safe. Could probably use a good cleaning since I've never done so. The pictured 12 gauge ammo is part of the package. Sold

  12. Two unfired rifles. I don't need 'em. In fact, I've spent more time taking pics of them than I've spent actually handling the guns. What I need is another fine shotgun. Think Perazzi, Krieghoff, Kolar in Over/Under guns and "Best" Side x Side doubles. Nice Winchester Model 21's are evil seductresses and, of course, welcome at the table, . I'm open to adding cash to the deal for guns with superior value. In terms of sale, here's my pricing on these: Knight's Armament Company SR25 - This is the real-deal one, folks! From the Vero Beach era of first-run originals! Comes with original owner's manual, removable carry handle and one KAC magazine (still unopened, sealed in the original plastic bag). Never had a round in the chamber since leaving the factory. $ale Pending HK MR 762 - Again, brand new with never a round chambered. Comes as pictured. $4,500 Both Guns to One Buyer in One Transaction - $10,000 (save $2,000). I'll consider offers based on real-world transactions if you want to do your homework. Please don't lowball without any references to recent transactions I can confirm. It isn't my intention to be rude but I simply won't respond to those kinds of messages/offers. These are high-end guns; I don't need to sell them. I like shooting birds and clay targets and can always use another tool for those endeavors. I served over 20 years active duty in the Army and have shot people - can't say I really enjoyed it. I'd rather shoot birds. These guns are registered to me. I only want to sell or trade with someone willing to meet in middle or East Tennessee and I'd prefer we meet at a gun shop and complete a transfer so they're in their new owners' name(s). I, of course, will be happy to do the same in a trade scenario. I took some quick photos for the purpose of this listing. I have some more on a flash drive but I think that's at my office. I will try to take more today and have them ready to share with you soon. Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me. Email is usually the quickest way. Rick Green rgreen@valbridge.com

  17. Picked this one up yesterday at my FFL. I bought it on another forum I belong to, it has SA Reciever, SA GI Bolt, SA GI Trigger Group, and a SA Oprod and a Krieger Bbl. Even though it's a CMP rebuild it looks great to me. Here's some pics let me know what you think about it.

  18. So painfully obvious that it's been done again and again over history. Having a FRED account lets me play around with this stuff, so I took a quick few minutes to chart the two basic metrics of the Federal Funds Effective Rate, and Inflation on an annual frequency. Basically anytime inflation has gotten out of control, or in some cases even out of line, the Fed has had to raise interest rates up to or higher than the prevailing inflation rate. So, I don't know what hopes people have for some magic wand solution instead of tough medicine by the spoonful. Here's a spoiler of how the Fed meetings are going to be for a while longer.... As "Joliet" Jake Blues said, hit it.

  19. Yes, today was ugly, but necessary. It's painfully obvious that the Fed is going to have to raise rates to much higher levels to beat inflation, better to crush the ongoing "irrational exuberance" in the markets now, rather than later ...

  25. I rode from my home in Hebbertsburg to Murfreesboro via Hwy 70 this morning. The forecast said that it was likely to be a dry ride there, but that I'd be pushing my luck on the way home. Sure enough, midway between Sparta and Crossville the sky opened up on me and I was pretty darned wet within a minute or two. It was warm, though, so not too uncomfortable. I had all my rain gear with me, but I never had time to put it on! Oh well, the ride was still fun, about two hours in each direction.

  26. Welcome. CA is a beautiful state, but its leaders have created too many problems for me to ever consider living there, and I fully understand why you would prefer a place like TN. Hope you enjoy it here. Cheers, Whisper

  27. Hows Hellcat btw? Heard a lot of good about from some folks to the degree of wanting one myself eventually UPD. Ended up ordering Hellcat Micro Compact from https://gritrsports.com/springfield-armory/ (since I have a bit of a smaller hands and usually normal-sized handguns don't feel that comfortable, hopefully it works well!)
