  1. Most PhD's I know just go by their first name. At a profession formal meeting, conference, etc., they might get introduced as "Dr" but they sure don't insist on others using the title. Outside of their professional setting, no one uses it.

  2. We really should find another name for not actual medical doctors. Calling a PhD or and Ed.D “doctor” has never struck me as sensible.

  3. Saw on news the Nashville predators. Foundation is holding a guns give back for predators gift cards at Greater revelation church this weekend. Seems like they have done this since 2011 with more than 650 gun turned in. If I was closer to Nashville I would be on next block with sign and lots of fifty dollars bills. Christmas in August. lol

  4. I'm always down to play a good game of "who can be more pretentious". I usually make it a habit of calling newly minted PhDs "Dr" at least once; then it's back to normal. If they want more than that, they need to find new friends.

  5. I prefer stolen guns be returned to their owners or auctioned off if no owner can be found if they have any value. Many agencies are too exuberant in destroying said firearms, regardless of what the law allows.

  6. This stuff goes under the official 3m designation of Coban. Its mostly polyester and some latex depending on the variant. water and heat properties for those materials would apply. It’s intended to be breathable but of you get it wet, it would keep water in contact with surfaces longer than no wrap.

  7. I have pulled the trigger on one of these through Sportsmen's Warehouse for $749.99. It should be at the store before the 29th. Happy birthday to me.

  8. AK platform chambered in 308. I just picked this up 2 weeks ago ago, fired exactly 20 rounds to verify and sight-in. Essentially new. Runs perfectly and shoots great. Accuracy is very good, thru a 20' hammer forged chromed barrel. The last 5 round verification group (lower group under bull) was on open irons @ 50yds with meh eyesight using Magtech ammo (not known for accuracy). Using some better ammo and an optic should bring some great results. I was excited to see these come back after a 10 year hiatus, but Smith 329's came back on the market and I need to fill the gap for a 44 wheel gun. Current street price is $1350, Expect to pay approx $1500 with tax and TICS. Offered @ $1200 with box and paperwork. No interest in Trades outside a 329PD or that pesky 4" Anaconda you've been dying to get rid of. Harrison / Chattanooga area.

  11. Up for your consideration is a Dynamic duo, kind of like Batman and Robin but better.... more like Batman and Batman.... (you pick which two, that debate is for another forum). Two of the finest handguns you can lay hands on, filling both your needs with a SAO and a DA/SA version, both top of the line in their category. First up is a Tactical Sport Orange. Single action, 40 cal, and only 100 rounds through it. I'm not sure what else to say.... SAO perfection.. $1700 2nd on the list but first in many hearts... Shadow 2 Orange. DA/SA goodness chambered in the ever so popular 9mm cartridge. Only 300 rounds through this beauty. If you are not familiar with the S2O it's your CZ Shadow 2 that has been hand fitted at the factory and a 1911 style barrel bushing installed. Think shooting a laser but only more accurate.... $1800 Both guns 100% issue free. I just have the itch to buy something and being that I still haven't hit the lottery one thing must go to purchase the next. Not planning on splitting these up for now so if you are interested in just one of them find a buddy and you can both benefit from the combined savings Have a new project so adding individual prices, will still do the pair option as well. Feel free to PM with any questions. $3000 for the pair, individual prices listed above.

  15. Like new G23 (compact .40). 4th gen. Original owner. I estimate it has only had about 200-250 rounds through it. Includes all original parts -- original box, 2 13rd mags, speed loader, and a few backstrap size options included. I also have some .40 ammo available (FMJ and hollow points). $500 obo

  16. This is a 17 round magazine in a Wilson Combat p365xl frame.

  17. My 365XL didn’t get that message. In fact, I have already modified 15 round XL mags to work in the Macro frame.

  20. Might not be in the area you're looking for, but I do most of my transfers at Bellshire Hardware. If I recall correctly it's $25+$10 TICS.

  21. The geometry of the mags are different. They will not fit in any other current 365 frames.

  22. Everyone, please send Wilson Combat an email requesting the Macro grip.

  23. This is an interesting twist of events. I don't see myself rushing toward this model since my Spectre Comp isn't even a year old yet and fits the exact need I had for it (smaller, controllable, accurate) in comparison to my other carry options. Maybe Wilson Combat will offer a "Macro" grip model and I can dip my toes into these waters without committing to yet another Sig.

  24. How does it hold up to the heat of firing?

  25. Not crapping on it, but there are a lot of good carry guns out there. There are a lot of good range or competition guns out there The original P365 is a great choice for edc. I don't understand why someone desires a gun designed which was optimized for conceal carry but was modified into a mid sized gun? There are very many great mid sized guns already out there. That's what they were designed to be. Is it just me or am I missing something? Granted, SIG knows a lot more about marketing than I do...:-)

  26. I am hoping that I can just buy the grip module and magazines, then drop in the FCU and use the slide from my 365XL.

  27. I received Sigs E-Mail also on this new model- I have both the P365X and the XL and fitted both with the Wilson Combat grip module- I feel that if a person needs 15-17 rounds there are already a huge selection of pistols to choose from- What attracted me to the Sigs I now have is the ability to have a RDS on both that is attached without having to use a plate- They are both very concealable and shoot quite well-just what Sig designed them for- I think the Macro Model is stretching into the mid to full size-no thanks I will stay with the X and XL-

  29. I’m with you. I have never lost a gun, and I won’t start now. The house and senate Democrats and Republicans are a bunch of children doing tit for tat. Their actions have nothing to do with serving the people. We are a country run by the elite and lobbyists for the one percent regardless of party.

  31. Glock 43x every day for the last 2 years. It’s surprisingly accurate for a compact gun. When I go to the range the first drill I do cold is the Jack Wilson, from concealment draw and fire one rd to the head from 15 yds. I nail it every time.

  32. My niece married a guy whose last name is Love. Last year he got his doctorate in education. Whenever he shows up around here, some of the kids always have the Kiss song “DR Love” cued up on their phone and ready to play as he walks in. In other news, it appears the vaccine is really working swimmingly.

  33. I’ve met more than my share of them that almost demand to be called Doctor. Damn they’re fun to mess with. I’ve asked many of them to check my pulse to see if it seems right to them. I was an EMT for 12 years and could always come up with a new ailment. My God the looks they would give me. Priceless!
