  1. He can’t fix things by himself. There are many decades of issues that need to be addressed to correct the problem. Sadly I don’t believe anyone is willing to put in the work, and things will get worse. I’m taking my woke agenda to infect another red state. It will be funny to hear the residents saying those damned Tennesseans are ruining everything with their liberal agenda. Seriously guys, things are going to continue to deteriorate in this country until we stop being suckers for politicians and corporations. Do you think they wake up angry everyday, b*tch on the internet, get riled up by the news, drink a fifth of whiskey, go to bed, then rinse and repeat? Hell no! They are enjoying all of the things they tell you are being taken from you. Meanwhile you’re a puppet for the machine.

  2. This could not be more true. If you want a glimpse of how "out of touch" even your local Joe Schmoe county commission can be I encourage you to go sit in on a couple of their meetings. In recent years, at least here in my county, its turned into what I can only describe as "the cool table" in high school where we show up, stroke our peepees and crow about my latest fantasy league picks to each other. And the amount of money spent on stupid sh!t baffles me.

  4. The data I saw for 2021 shows that most people moving to TN are 65 or older. I don't think we're being flooded with as many liberals as people claim. Most major cities in the US are liberal so that isn't unique to Nashville. Tennessee is still a solidly conservative state. Trump won TN with 60% of the vote which was only lower than 9 other states. A lot of people moving here are doing so because they like the politics.

  5. I just hope the contributing "woke" making it worse will migrate westward and NOT eastward. We got enough woketard here in the far east to deal with.

  6. I agree she needed to go, but I suspect for different reasons. She was sometimes quite unfriendly to law enforcement. I get the “has to get worse before it gets better” mentality, but there may be nothing left when we get finished getting worse. I don’t think the typical Memphian will ever come around to your “choose better” option. Someday I will escape from Shelby County.

  8. Alrighty, I bought this off a member here a few years ago, cleaned her up nice, carried her a bit in my sticky holster, decided to switch it up. We have a pretty minty fresh Springfield Armory ESP 4 in 9mm. It has a single 10 round extended mag and 7... that is 7! extra factory standard magazines (9 round count). That's $210ish retail plus tax just in magazines! Ok, back to the gun. She's nice, all factory stuff, extra magazines, nice little way to avoid uncle sam on a new one as well as get all the extra magazines your heart could desire thrown in! Located in Franklin TN. Firm on price unless you are wanting to take my number off your awesome railed 9mm metal frame pistol or an AR10. Cheers!

  9. I bought this from another TGO member. I bought this to use as a hunting pistol. I ended finding a different hunting pistol so this one will not get used. Here is the build list: Aero upper and lower PSA BCG Parallax tactical m-lok rail Seekins bolt release, BAD mag release button, Strike Industries extended takedown pins Ambi 45 degree armaspec safety “Custom” Krylon camo , it is well done if I say so myself (not done by me) SB Tactical SBA4 brace Burris 2-7x32 Scout Scope with a Monstrum 1 piece mount. I will also throw in 2 boxes of hunting ammo. $950 for everything.

  15. Free bump for @FUJIMO. I was trying to figure out how to get to "n da sticks" and he pointed me to a new advert on here that just popped up for the same gun I was trying to buy from him in this thread but local to me and even vouched for the seller (know each other from this site). Thank you! -Mike

  19. Lol, how much worst can Memphis get by having more blue voters move in? Same with Nashville, it is getting flooded by those leaving the s-hole places and further entrenching the Dems that keep getting voted into office, it is definitely not making it "worse", it is already there.

  21. I’m gonna go against the orthodoxy here and say that she needed to go. Even though the new guy will be measurably worse, she needed to go. The truth is that she wasn’t going to be replaced by better. The city had to get worse before they could understand why they needed to choose better.

  22. Pro tip for driving to Memphis from the east if you’re not in the know: When you cross the Shelby county line go on alert but the drive from Jackson should already prepare you for that. Once you get around Wolfchase/Germantown road start clenching your sphincter. Pray, then proceed directly to Sam Cooper Blvd. Continue to raise up prayers and cuss your existence then exit as quick as you can. Go south then hang a right on the first or second major street to go west. At this point you can get to where the good stuff is, but only have to deal with 2 or 3 lanes of maniacs going in the same direction…mostly. And don’t ever stay at a hotel next to the interstate.

  23. No one but drug dealers, pimps and whores go to that place. It was definitely a hit. Even though I can’t tell by the pictures, the Draco and AR pistols are the preferred weapon of Memphis trouble makers. The second option is the Glock19 with 30 round mags. It’s tough out here. Can’t ride around with level 3 body armor on every day. When I first started trading guns I would do it in the Bass Pro parking lot because MPD had a camera there. If I’m seen over there now I’ve been taken hostage. Please call for help.

  25. I finally found my favorite plastic hammer-fired pistol. These things are no longer made and are hard to find in person , at least is was for me over the past few years. I found a nice used IWI Jericho 941. For me it's the best feeling and best looking polymer pistol. I have turned into a metal gun person but this polymer one just does it for me. Old school hammer-fired but new style polymer. I don't like finger grooves on a pistol but these are extremely well placed and usable. Frame-mounted safety so it can be carried cocked-and-locked. DA/SA action. It is the well proven CZ75 design. Made is Israel by Israeli Weapons Industries. Just thought I'd share.

  26. We actually do have state supremacy with regards to firearms laws in Tennessee. The issue with things like the metal detectors at the fairgrounds are actually a specific carve out granted in the statutes by the state. Signs carrying the force of law is something that many of us find obnoxious and have worked for a long time to change. I would strongly suggest joining and supporting the TFA as they are doing all of the heavy lifting in the fight for that change. The way the TICS system works is fairly obnoxious and I won’t argue with that. However, I will say that in the grand scheme of things, there are better places to spend political capital to make changes in the near and mid-term. The lack of public land that is open and available to shoot on is something that I always make sure that I warn people of who are considering moving here from out west. Public land just simply doesn’t exist in the manner in which it does where you are from. State parks and other public lands here generally are set up for a much higher density of usage than required for the millions upon millions of open acres that you find out west. It sucks, but it is what it is. As far as the carryi of loaded long guns, which is illegal in Tennessee unless directly connected to sporting activity, I too would like to see some change within that realm. That said, you were coming from one of the last vestiges of western culture that exist in this country, and until California started screwing everything up coming in from the West Coast, you generally had a spectrum from very urban to very not going from east to west. The cultures reflected that. The more urbanized the area, the less acceptable that sort of behavior is Not because it’s wrong, it’s just unusual in an urban setting. On that note, the greater metro Nashville area has a greater population than the entirety of the state of Idaho. It may surprise some, but even the very rule parts of Tennessee are very densely populated in comparison to much of the western states that are mostly owned by the federal government. So, I’m not trying to shut you down or tell you you were wrong. Just provide a little context from the perspective of somebody who has spent significant amounts of time out west as well as being from this area. You do bring up things that absolutely could be better. I strongly recommend supporting the Tennessee Firearms Association’s work if you would like to see progress made on those fronts.

  27. I know nothing about rock river rifles, but I got to say if I weren't knee deep into a business thing right now I would buy this purely on the presentation/packaging. That case is just next level IMHO. lol I bought a +$2k LWRCI rifle and got a cardboard box.

  29. 5.45x39 is more expensive and tougher to find than 7.62x39. It has better terminal ballistics than 5.56 and higher BC so it shoots further. Very mild recoil in AK74s. I have both and really enjoy shooting the 74 but I cannot say I prefere one over the other. Most 47 accesroies will fit a standard 74 with a few exceptions. Surplus magazines are more expensive but Magpull makes decent ones for a good price. Every gun shop looks at you funny when you ask about 5.45x39. "don't you mean 7.62x39?" is very common, as is front counter guy shouting to somone in the back "we have any 5.45x39?" with the answer most always being "you mean 7.62x39?" so get used to that. Once in a while you meet the "other guy who has a AK74" who smiles and knows right what you are talking about. That all said, I do ok at gunshows recently on 5.45 except for some fools who have it jacked way up in price. Best deals are online, about 40 cents per even today if you look. They operate just like a 47. different size parts is all. Some early Century guns used 5.56 barrels and tend to keyhole so watch for that. I can tell by some subtle changes it is a modernized AK when compared to my 47's. On reloading, Hornady makes dies. Brass is unobtainium though. So are bullets. Nobody has load data so I have dies I have never used. I did clear out the last place I knew with bullets (surplus pulls) and have a bunch of 222 rem brass to convert and do plan to work up a load. With ammo being the way it is I am hopefull the reload market will start supporting it soon. I hope that gives you some decent info.

  31. Work used to occasionally require me to ride around in the lousiest neighborhoods Memphis has to offer. It did not require me to do so in a red Miata with the top down blaring Leonard Skynard, but I did it anyway.

  32. I’ve been doing a pretty damn good job of telling folks how horrid west TN is I think. The New Englanders move to East TN and the Californians move to Nashville. Both groups leave Memphis and the surrounding areas alone for the most part. If Memphis continuing to Memphis is what it takes to keep those folks out of Crockett/Haywood/Madison then that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
