  1. For your consideration: a 100+ year old British revolver. This piece has been sitting in my safe for 2 years after I inherited it and I realized it needs to go to someone who will appreciate it. Mechanically it appears to be excellent; locks up tight. Dry-firing, everything feels and sounds good. The cylinder is uncut (cutting these was common) and the seriel number #2399, matches the frame. Cosmetically....good for its age! However, there are a couple things of note: The grips have pieces missing. Your options are to get them repaired, find an intelligent person with a 3-D printer, or leave as is. The nickel is decent but with several spots of wear and pitting. The barrel crown shows considerable wear. I tried to document the deficiencies in the photos. The bore looks pretty good. Although this is legally an antique and could be mailed, I doubt anyone would buy this sight-unseen. I will drive about 60 miles to meet someone for the sale. $1100.00

  2. Winchester 1873, 3rd model. 44-40 cal. (44 WCF). Manufactured in 1888. Full octagon 21” barrel, buckhorn sight, tang sight, original everything and owned with great care- stock intact with original cleaning rod. I got her from a family member last year and have put 20 cowboy rounds through. The rifle is accurate, intact, and the rifling is strong with no pitting. Along with her will be 70 factory cowboy rounds and a leather, sheepskin-lined, vintage gun case. $2,300. .

  4. That guy knew exactly what he was doing and deserves the harshest sentence they can give him. This is exactly the type of thing we DON'T want happening at gun shows.

  5. Exactly. Too many folks didn’t and don’t understand that. So many were clamoring for us to take action that would put us in direct physical conflict with Russian without fully grasping what that would mean. I don’t know about you, but getting involved in a direct conflict with another major nuclear and ultimately global thermonuclear war isn’t on the list of #### I’m remotely interested in.

  8. Well, you can’t swing be the local junkyard and pick up an EV battery for a few hundred bucks and swap it out over the weekend. You can do this with an engine or transmission.

  9. I'm not missing the point at all. I can fully see where EV has its place and long term will be much more efficient for many tasks inside a given area/range. However, any time gov gets involved and is the largest spokesperson for it theres a catch and its worse for the consumer. Diesels are a great example of this. Europe has used them for decades and there's models that aren't allowed here that get 60 mpg. That's no accident. No different than EPA regulations back when GW was running the show. They became less efficient when they wanted new tech used. I drove a gas hybrid Toyota in 2019 all over the UK. It was hitting 51+ mpg on the motorway. It was using a type of regenerative braking complete with a gauge in the instrument cluster to show optimum speed for maximum performance and efficiency. Hell I wanted to come home and buy a new one for a daily commuter. Once again gov cock blocked it and Toyota just now has it slated for a 2023/24 release. As to the criminal exploitation technology that will take place thats gonna be a by product of modernization im afraid.

  11. So some know I am heavily into 22 Benchrest. I also do most of my own barrel work, etc on my guns. I won a Douglas barrel blank at a match and it isn't what I normally use on my competition guns, so I decided to make a customized 10/22 since I had one laying around. Actually, this has zero Ruger 10/22 parts. The only part I used from the donor gun was the action and it was from a T/C22 which is just a Ruger clone, but I liked it as it had the pic rail built in. Anyway, here is the rest of the story. Receiver was internally threaded to 3/4-16 so that the barrel would mount like my other custom BR actions. I threaded and chambered the .920 Douglas Barrel to fit and chambered it based on being in the 10/22 platform which basically means it has to be a little larger chamber with more taper for feeding. This is still way tighter than a factory chamber, even a Bentz. I purposely did not go too loose as this is built for accuracy and precision which it is does very good at. What this means is that it can be a bit finicky with certain ammo's and feeding. I only use SK or better (Lapua normally) and it runs pretty good. It may take some trial and error to see what ammo you have that it likes. This is a bench gun, not a walking around gun as the barrel is pretty long and heavy. It has a Kidd Bolt, springs, and 3oz/3oz trigger. It also has their rear action mount that creates a second action screw into the stock. The stock has been inletted and bedded to fit. The stock is a Boyd's At-One. The scope on it is not priced with it. Price is $1000. As I got the barrel for free and did all of the work, just the parts are worth more than this. So why am I selling? I'm just not a 10/22 guy. If you like 10/22's and accuracy, this is a pretty good opportunity to pick up something that will outshoot most factory bolt actions with ease. Pickup in Franklin, Columbia, or Murfreesboro areas as I am in between all three. Any questions, just let me know.

  14. It took me years to curate a nice collection of various foil hats for any occasion, I'm pretty happy with em. Most folks dont know this, but they have figured out how to get thru the tin ones. Very appropriate to mention while we are on the topic of new tech capabilities and vulnerabilities. Point being, dont be driving around in your ICE with a tin foil hat thinking your safe.

  16. As I've already mentioned on here and a couple other forums I belong to, if you think EV means you'll have the same freedoms as you have now with mean ol Mr ICE think again. More control for big brother less freedom for you. Count on it
    2 points
  17. Yeah . . . because the owner of an ICE car would never be told "Your car needs a new engine" or "Your car needs a new transmission". Batteries are more now than a new engine/trans but battery costs are continuing to fall. Five to ten years from now I expect they'll reach parity cost with an ICE replacement. And with battery packs expected to still retain 90% of their charge after 200,000 miles, their replacement cycle will likely be as good or better than an ICE engine or trans.

  20. I went and early voted today. This has become a habit for me as I find it physically uncomfortable to deal with crowds and long lines. The up coming Aug 4th election is both a primary and in many counties a general election. I feel its more important to vote in the primaries than it is to vote in the General Election come fall. Let's face it, in the general election most of us will simply vote for the candidate with a "R" or "D" by their name. By voting in the primary election you have a much better chance of getting a qualified candidate for the general election. I truly believe that the current crop of idiots and clowns in Congress these days is the result of people not voting in primaries. The wrong people end up winning and we suffer for it.

  21. Ruger Wrangler.22 Revolver, LNIB with extra set of Altamont Super Walnut Grips. Located in Lenoir City. Will entertain trade offers. $200 Am interested in a Henry Lever action .22 Model H0001. Also looking for a Taurus snub 38. Like most Glocks. And lately I have bought a couple of Ruger American Ranch Rifles off of this forum so I seem to be starting a collection of them if you have one to trade. I am more of a collector than a shooter so any trades must be in excellent condition.

  23. I don't know all the differences but the short of it is an ECP can do everything that a CCP can plus open carry and carry in a lot more places that are restricted for CCP holders. If any of the states that currently reciprocate with TN decide to tighten their rules CCP will get dropped first.

  29. lol. I wasnt specifically referring to you, no worries. It was the tone on some of the preceding items and them being someone directed at EV in particular. I'll say your comment seem to imply there are less abilities to exploit ICE over EV, but that may not have where you were going perhaps. We actually share alot of the same concerns on the ability to exploit the tech. I think, I may have (for better or worse) been the one who brought up that concern in the thread. It was the one thing that almost had me hold back. But I only see it getting worse, and for now, as delivered, I can remove the ability to communicate with it if needed. Biggest difference is I currently see the auto makers as the biggest abusers. Though they could easily hand over control to whoever they choose to. I'll add one thought in reference to .gov and regs seeming to preclude things available internationally. We have more lobby from the manufactures and oil. Here .gov is an outcome of big oil and car manufactures. Anyone remember what happened to the first EV's and who was buying charging stations and removing them? Interesting topic. As far as that item on Toyota, that sounds more like Toyota or how its implemented? Mine has that feature and goes back to earlier models. I would be very surprised not to see it on others, or that it cant be unlocked if for some reason its a disabled item.

  31. If he willingly broke the law, prosecute him! I’ll not stick up for someone who does not respect the rule of law. If this was entrapment, I rescind my previous statement and call for the ATF agents to be prosecuted. I’ve witnessed both through the years at gun shows. Neither are good.

  38. Thats an inaccurate picture because I'm pretty sure the "fix it" shop will be regulated away when EVs hit the big time. The car industry is already trying their damnedest to deter anyone from doing something as simple as changing their own oil. I feel like EV battery swaps will be done by dealers or dealer approved shops. Hope im wrong.

  41. You left out Mark Meadows cell phone, compromised SS agents, Ginni Thomas, sedition, negligence by TFG to order the securing of the capital, saying his (TFG) VP deserved to be hanged, Clarence Thomas tainting the Supreme Court and so much more. F*ck Hunter Biden and DJT Jr. They’re both drug addicts and a total embarrassment to anyone who cares about them. Lastly, the best part about being retired, middle aged, financially comfortable and having no dependents is that I’ve been able to keep informed about the fall of the republic and not care enough to be stressed at the same time. What’s that saying about a tree needing to be watered every two hundred and fifty years?sarcasm
