Well, considering an armed citizen shot and killed the suspect, most likely preventing further deaths, it’s a win for the Second Amendment.6 points

I’m selling several guns that have just been sitting in the safe. Let me know if you have any other questions. Ruger 10/22 takedown. Comes with bag, papers, scope base and 1 10-round magazine. Total round count less than 50. $SOLD Sauer 100XT Classic in 300 Win Mag. I bought this unfired from another member here and have put 12 rounds through it. Comes with two piece scope base and original paperwork. $750 I’m in the Knoxville area. Thanks for looking. Must be TN resident and legal to purchase/own firearms. HCP holders preferred.4 points

Its looking like the Police Chief isn't gonna let this hero go un-noticed. "At a press conference on Monday afternoon, Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said Elisjsha Dicken, 22, of Seymour, Ind., was shopping with his girlfriend at the Greenwood Park Mall when shots rang out in the food court on Sunday just before 6 p.m. local time. “His actions were nothing short of heroic,” Ison said. “Many more people would have died last night had an armed citizen not taken action within two minutes of the shooting.”3 points

Makes you wonder why they don't take the HCP. Heck, you had to get fingerprinted and background checked to get it.3 points

From my research on the TSA website the other day a passport will work or a military ID and a few others forms of ID. Since I have a passport, I am going to wait until time to renew my DL before getting the Real ID.3 points

It's in USA Today and Reuters and on TV it's on CBS and CNN, plus lots of local affiliates. I think it helps that the media were quick to jump on early reports of "another mall shooting" and then had to follow up with the outcome. Cheers, Whisper3 points

I wonder how much of the last Stimulus money was spent on guns and ammo. Probably a lot more than than the Biden Administration cares to think about.2 points

I agree with this portion of your statement, especially concerning the media. All of these mass shootings has pushed the twenty four coverage of Ukraine to the back burner. My opinion on the general public is that most anti gunners are simply afraid of guns. Despite the gun violence in the black community, most black people I know don’t own or want guns.2 points

You can go to your local DMV and they will reissue a drivers license with a star printed in the upper right hand corner. You will have to jump through some hoops to get the star I.e. a CERTIFIED copy of you birth certificate, place of residence, etc. if you go to the DMV they will supply you with a check list.2 points

Selling this new, unfired Winchester Model 70. Comes with box and papers. Does not come with scope or rings pictured, but I will sell with the Talley Bases. Bought this last year as a donor for a custom safari rifle build...but I found one already fully customized, so I went that route. Great rifle, for a great price. Hard to find right now. $15001 point

Just 3 mos ago, I obtained my real ID through my local courthouse. Took all of 10 minutes, and about a week later I received my new DL with the gold star. Just read what you have to bring with you, pay attention to the detail (no photo copies), go when others normally would not go (don't go on Fridays, or the first of the month). Avoid the rush. The government has kicked this can down the road so many times in regards to the cut off date, I don't expect them to do it again.1 point

This is something that annoys the hell out of me. Lots of places wont accept an expired D/L as a form of ID. To me, if its to identify you, it shouldn't matter whether or not its expired. It still identifies you. I guess I understand why you cant use it for a D/L as its only valid for a finite period, it is still you and your picture and information on the thing, lol. Same for a passport. I understand why you cant travel on an expired one, but using it for ID should be allowed.1 point

At this point I'm convinced that there are some people who get pleasure from each mass shooting because their hated of firearms and the people who own them outweighs their regard for human life.1 point

I figure it will become mandatory at some point and like Erik i was there for other business anyway...1 point

I'm also seeing May 3, 2023 as the new date. I think this might turn into the same thing they told me in elementary school about 50 years ago that the US was moving to the metric system. Original date was Oct, 1, 2020 so I got mine at the end of 2019 since I don't like to tote my passport around anymore than I have to for travel. At this rate mine will be up for renewal before the implementation.1 point

But if the update somehow messed up, it is possible you could hook your current phone up to a computer in DFU mode, restore the phone, and then fix it (assuming it is a simple software corruption). https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode I'd try this first as it would be exactly $0.00 if it works. Warning: Putting an iPhone into DFU mode and restoring via iTunes/Finder will result in possible data loss dependent upon how/whether you have backups via local/iCloud. But if the phone currently does not work I'm not sure you have anything to lose.1 point

I know you said you couldn't swing $1,000 for a new phone right now, but I just want to make sure you are aware of the iPhone SE line. You can buy it directly from Apple for $429. https://www.apple.com/iphone-se/ Depending on how much you were planning on spending, a few extra bills may get you to this. This would get you a brand new phone with warranty vs buying an older used phone that may not make it much more than a few months without issue. Since you live in Nashville you should be able to swing by one of your Apple Stores to purchase one.1 point

Back into this thread https://www.foxbusiness.com/technology/florida-family-electric-car-problem-replacement-battery-costs-more-vehicle The Florida family found out a replacement for the electric car's battery would cost thousands Avery Siwinski is a 17-year-old who's parents spent $11,000 on a used Ford Focus Electric car, which is a 2014 model and had about 60,000 miles when it was bought, according to KVUE. The teenager had the car for six months before it began giving her issues and the dashboard was flashing symbols. "It was fine at first," Siwinski said. "I loved it so much. It was small and quiet and cute. And all the sudden it stopped working." The Ford dealership had advised us that we could replace the battery," said her grandfather, Ray Siwinski. "It would only cost $14,000." However, the family found out that there weren't any batteries of that type available anymore because the Ford model is discontinued. So an eight year old car needs a new battery and the battery is no longer made, that make me want a plug in car even more.1 point

- People who don’t use turn signals. - People who think anybody cares that you don’t like Glock, sig, Taurus, tactical leverguns, etc…If someone specifically asks your opinion than freely give it. If they say, I really like my (insert whatever) and somebody comes out of left field to say, “well the grip angle”, or “that Tupperware gun won’t last”, or “back in my day” you are immediately getting tuned out. It would be like you marrying a blonde with big tits, and instead of me being happy for you that you have found what makes you happy I say, “well she’d be a lot better if she was a brunette with a big ass”. It’s weird, and rude. - Gun guys that open carry into awkward places for the sole purpose of making people uncomfortable or to troll for a reaction, while crying “because I can”. - People who don’t put up their shopping carts. - People who call 911 for an ambulance ride to the hospital (for some non emergency BS) because they think it gets them to the front of the line at the ER. Typically people that aren’t paying for their own healthcare, thereby jacking up the cost of it for everyone else. - People who use abortion as a form of birth control.1 point

My favorite place to get (very in-depth) reviews for TVs and monitors is: https://www.rtings.com/ Personally, I went from a BenQ dual-monitor setup to a single Hisense 65H9G TV. With 65-inches of display setting arms-length from me, I don't feel the need for more screen real-estate. If I do need additional space, Window multiple desktops (WIN+CTRL+D) gives me a clean display to work with and I can swap back and forth between them (WIN+CTRL+(right or left arrow key)). You can close the additional desktop with WIN+CTRL+F4.1 point
