  1. Golden rod, I have very high humidity where I keep mine and it keeps the rust away.

  2. The price for wolf gold online is all over the place. I have seen it for .68, .70, .85 and .95 cents a round. That seems high to me but I have not bought any in a long time. I have 2 ammo cans. 1 with 1,000 rounds and one with 960 rounds. Selling it for .50 a round so $500 and $480 respectively. If my price is out of line let me know.

  3. Don't put it directly on concrete, it will rust. A piece of plywood works well.

  4. I also have my safe in the “garage”. It is really a workshop now. I have both a heating element (like the goldenrod) in my safe as a well as a couple containers of silica gel. I will regenerate those every couple months.

  5. Scissors, yes, your patient may not not be still enough to use a knife to access the wound. Quikclot, again, yes, bandage, IMO, is better than powder because you will have to bandage anyway. Chest seals, again, yes, plastic works, I have done it, but most commercial ones have a "burp" valve which help prevent a pneumothorax (collapsed lung), we are issued these most times. vent on one side and none on the other (if exited). Mastisol or strips, I would say both, sometimes the strips will not stick due to blood, dust, humidity etc, And sometimes the wound just isn't clean enough to use the glue. I would add a suture needle and thread to this as well. Duel ammo pouches would work just fine as most IFAKs are not that big. Just be sure to pack it in a way where you can find what you are looking for without having to dump the pouch.

  6. When a business has double doors and I'm walking in through one and people going the other way stand outside the other door waiting for me to and my posse to get through. Just open the other door and go about your business. More of a "WTF?" than a pet peeve since it really doesn't impact me at all. But on the subject of businesses with double doors . . . why do some bozos unlock one but not the other? That's an irritant for sure when I reach for a door and it's locked only to find the one adjoining it is unlocked.

  8. I have a like new Werner 12' fiberglass stepladder. Its rated for 300 lbs and is model number NXT1A12. More details here: https://www.wernerco.com/us/products/ladders/step-ladders/NXT1ASeries/NXT1A12?bvstate=pg:2/ct:q. Lowes and Home Depot have them for about $300+. This one is like new, I just don't have a need for this size ladder at our new house. $175 $125 in Mt. Juliet. Stock pic for attention - I can take pics of the actual ladder but then I have to get the ladder off the garage wall and put it back - and I'm lazy. This one looks new.

  9. I just got this as my many month search for a commander variant was not successful and of course as soon as I get this exactly what I want becomes available. So I bought that too and this now has to go unfortunately. Cherry condition Dan Wesson Vigil in 9mm, comes with everything you see including the new VZ grips (wood DW included). It is an absolute dream to shoot and far more accurate than I can be. These are next to impossible to find due to limited production and are some of the softest shooting pistols I've ever fired. With the alloy frame and 25lpi checkering, it's a fantastic carry piece without the usual 1911 weight. $1400 in the greater Nashville area.

  12. @Omegaand I don't agree on much, but his earlier post and the one above this are spot on. The Asherman style chest seal is super quick, and trauma scissors are a cheat code. Here's an older thread that still holds up and can compliment this one. https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/105661-med-kit/

  15. I bought another deer rifle. I have been on a lever gun kick for awhile. One lever gun I did not have was a Winchester 94. I came across this Winchester 94ae and kinda fell in love with it. This was a banquet gun for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. It has gorgeous wood and really nice engravings. It also just happened to be in a caliber I did not have, .356 Winchester. I don't have a lot of lever guns but the one caliber I do not have is a .30-30. I have levers in .22, .357, .338 Win, .348 Win, .356 Win, .375 Win, .44 mag, .45 Colt, .45-70 and .500 S&W Mag(on order).

  21. I have several kahr pistols and carry a p380 alot and they all seem to have a squishy mag release to me. I just went and tried my p380 and it felt that way over and over. But it did however have a very positive click when it engaged.

  22. These pack rafts are pretty cool for crossing rivers and big creeks when combined with a backpack too. Weighs less than 5lbs. Especially useful out west on backpack hunts https://alpackaraft.com/products/caribou?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIh_OOyPe5-AIVdB6tBh1t5gaaEAQYASABEgJU0vD_BwE

  24. My granddad asked me to dig one under a shed for him. Now, if my father had made me dig one I'd have felt terribly misused, but I was happy to show my papaw that I was a hard worker, and I busted my hump for a couple of days to get that hole in the ground. My uncle owns that property now, and on the rare occasions that I go there I make sure to admire "my" root cellar, still there and functioning almost 50 years later.

  25. I remember my Grandparents had what I guess was a root cellar. You could stand up in it but it was only about 6-8' wide and maybe 10-12 feet long. Had floor to ceiling shelves on both sides. In the Fall the shelves would be full from floor to ceiling with canning jars full of everything plus a few bushel baskets of potatoes, squash and other things plus bags of onions. She canned fruit, vegetables even meat. She also made the best noodles. She would set up a regular production run in the kitchen and make enough for a few months after they were dried and stored properly. These days they would be called preppers but that was how they got through the depression and just kept doing it. My grandfather always had a huge garden and they had several fruit trees on their lot. Grandpa also hunted and fished so that helped. One of my memories visiting them was running with the neighbor kids catching chickens. There was a small processing plant a couple of blocks away and the chickens were always getting loose before they could be killed. Told my grandpa that the plant would gives us kids a nickel for every chicken we caught. He said he would give us dime. So we had a new customer.

  26. When I was a kid in Florida the whole family got together for canning day. Started before dawn. My uncle and two cousins would load up in his van and out to a field we went . Picked cucumbers and tomatoes. The rest of the day Grandmah, mom and three aunts cooked up sauces and stuff for pickles. It smelled so good. By evening they had jarred up plenty. The men grilled and us kids churned ice cream. Good memories.

  27. I'm a MAC Tools franchise owner in Jefferson City. If you need something MAC, please let me know. I can drop ship anything you need or you can pick up from me along my route which basically runs from Jefferson City to Bulls Gap through Morristown along 11. Reach out to me here via DM, text me at 8six5 three37 2zerofour6, or email LeeTheToolGuy@gmail dot com If you have a MAC distributor please continue to deal with him, I will not poach. MAC does offer traditional financing for large purchases at (sometimes) competetive rates, but it's third-party commercial so they range up to 23.99% I'm happy to process an application but have ZERO control or input into rates/terms. Last... Check out my drawing in "General Chat", I'm giving away a pair of gloves. I plan a monthly drawing, hopefully business will improve over time and the prize will get better:) UPDATE: Want to trade-in your unloved/unneeded firearm? Let's make a deal...

  28. 16’ x 75.5” between the fenders. Decent tires, bearings services, not bent or beat up, no brakes, no title, new wiring, tongue jack works good. 5” channel not 4” like most. I bought it from an old timer who towed a zero turn on it. It’s probably had 500 miles put on it in the last 5 years. There is absolutely no such thing as a heavy duty trailer with 5 lug axles. It’s unbelievable the crap people push around here. $2100. PM your phone number if interested.
