This is my experience as well. Do not be afraid of these little carbines. I've had two of them and both as been great as long as you use HP or Redball mags. My experience with the 15 round Promags, has been less than stellar though. Also mine have run with FMJ and premium SD ammunition.2 points

If you are looking for or considering a first PCC for under $600, it fits the bill. My HP has run and run and run, keeping up with $1000+ platforms in multiple carbine classes. GLWS!2 points

Well, I survived. Over all a pretty good show. Lots of interesting stuff to choose from. Unfortunately, much of it was way overpriced. Especially older collectible pieces. I'm talking plumb stupid prices. The turn out was surprisingly small. I guess money is just too tight right now for a lot of folks. However, a lot of guns were being sold to those who did come. I did well. I brought 4 to sell and sold 2 for a nice profit. My table partner sold 8! But he did bring a lot more than I did. Its still there tomorrow if anybody is interested.2 points

While searching the web on my phone last night for ammo deals (looking for 6.5 Grendel) I came across a site (www.ammozdepot.com) that had some really good prices on Wolf. In retrospect, too good. Still, I put an order in my cart, then saw that there was a minimum "$150" order. So, I put some 300BO in the cart to get the order up to the minimum. going to the checkout, they offer PayPal as a payment choice (Cool I think), but they also offer Zelle. Hmm, I think. My Spidy Senses start tingling and I decide to look for reviews on this site. I find some "Scam Check" sites that say ok things and some that say bad things. I then find a posting to Pay Pal from someone who felt they were scammed by the site. They placed a order and then were asked to use F&F to make the payment. They did and never heard back from the web site. I then got onto some other gun forums and found more references to the site as being a scam. I backed away and called it good. Today I went back and looked at the site again. Initially, it looks to be a well put together site. They say all the right things to get you to believe it is legit. But as you look deeper, it looks to be almost an AI generated site or a template web site that has been modified just enough to "look" legit. When you get deeper into the site, much of the "Text" associated with the pages is Latin gibberish. Anyway, avoid Ammozdeals.com. If you run across any other scam sites, let's post them so we keep our folks safe.1 point

Selling to fund a purchase. Gun runs fine for what it is. From Hi-point it has a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. Check their website for more info. Gun comes with attached BSA sight, attached folding foregrip, installed dual mag-holder. I probably have the original sight somewhere, bonusiff I do, no price reduction if I don't. I have at least 3 mags, I'll send all I can find. Might be 2, might be 6. they run I believe $17 each. Price remains the same regardless. Anyway... Price is $350. Firm. Gun is in Jefferson City. Buyer comes to me, welcome to shoot a mag of their own ammo in my backyard to verify function. If a meet is preferred I will provide my schedule and route, happy to meet along it in Greeneville, Mosheim, Bulls Gap, Morristown, Rogersville, White Pine, New Market areas. I also travel 81 up to Exit 36. Option to purchase a case of factory 9mm for $350 at time of sale. Price is firm. Choice of Blazer Brass 147gr, Aguila 115gr, Winchester 115gr or Federal 124gr. Ammo NOT available to others unless gun buyer declines. TN d/l flash required, bill of sale not necessary. Deal is not locked until "I'll take it" is sent via DM.1 point

Sig Sauer P239 DAK in 357 Sig with 2 mags, kydex holster, 50 rounds Speer Gold Dots and 50 rounds of Winchester white box This was my dream pistol until I realized my hand is too big for it. Looking for trades. I like 9mm Glocks, Sigs, and possibly others. I also like K and L frame revolvers. I am in the Memphis area. Willing to drive to Jackson or possibly the River for the right deal. Thanks! $6001 point

This is a home made cannon, I used it for display purposes only and its a great conversation piece. I would not recommend anyone fire the cannon. Its about 2 feet tall for size reference. It was built by an ex 101st soldier and I have had it for a few years. $125.001 point

We lost our Dad on December 5 last year. Back in 1972 my brother and Dad were selling donuts for the Scouts. Ran up on a man selling raffle tickets for a rifle. A deal was made, Dad bought a ticket and the man bought a box of donuts. Well the man called and Dad had won. My Dad never liked firearms so the rifle was put for a a few years. When I got older we would beg to get the rifle out and shoot. I moved off and had a family as well as my brothers and sister. The rifle was put up and forgot about. My brother got the rifle and asked me to get some ammo up so we could shoot. Well being a hand loader I had some cast and powder coated lead. Found the brass, dies and went to loading some up. On Fathers day this year my brother gave me the rifle. He and our other brother had talked about giving it to me for Fathers Day. We shot it for the first time in 35 years or more. This past Saturday my son and myself went to OK Corral to shoot. Here are is the target, now it is hard for me to see that well with iron sights, but I will say I did think I did just fine with a 50 year old rifle and my 63 year old eyes and untested loads. The hits in the red are off a rest to get crono numbers, the rest are seated off hand. The rifle has some age and a few "beauty marks".1 point

Probably going to submit a form 1 and design an new folding stock. Have it LaserJeted out, weld it up, and machine it down. Got it running 225 subsonic expanders @ 1061. I have some 280 gr expanders for subs and 95 gr controlled chaos for suppers on the way.1 point

The people that did come were there to buy. So a lot of guns were sold. I agree, new guns were going for MSRP. Older collectibles were plumb outrageous. 2.5" S&W Model 19 was $1300, Model 27s were $1700-1900, Colt Diamondback .38 was $2500 and the topper of them all was a Raven .25acp for $150! I confess, I had my guns priced a bit high. I figured if someone was interested that would give me some haggle room. Besides, I didn't need to sell them. If I couldn't get my price, I'd just take 'em home and put 'em back in the safe. But the two that I sold, the buyers didn't even haggle. Paid asking price, no questions. There was one middle aged couple there looking to find a defensive rifle for the wife. Nice folks. They settled on the Ruger PC carbine my partner had for sale. It came with 5 mags and some other goodies. Gun was LNIB. But then they tried to hand him a credit card to pay for it. Yeah, like an old man with just one table takes credit cards. Uh, nope. They asked him to hold it while they went to find a ATM. He did and sure nuff, about an hour later they came back and paid him in $20 bills.1 point

From the assistant / valet perspective, I was very pleased with student performance and flow of the class. The newly developed training area and use of equipment at Windrock is outstanding. Shout out to Brother Al for his RSO and range valet assistance, thank you for keeping us on track on moving forward. We had 9 attendees, all of whom were interested in discovering their baseline skill level. Randy provided some back to basics dry fire exercises to compliment the upcoming live fire drill. Based on overall accuracy and speed results, I'd say it made it a difference. The drills, 9 shooters, 1p - 430p, Rastoff's Challenge, FBI Qualification, Bakersfield PD Qualification and the original Federal Air Marshal Qualification. Congratulations to the entire class, everyone shot high 80s to high 90s on the FBI Qualification. @John Hearne mentioned in class,"if are routinely better than 80% on the drills you are shooting, you probably need to add different/ more difficult drills to your training." My only complaint: while temps were the mid 80s, the humidity was miserable. If your sweat isn't evaporating, how do you stay cool? For you girls and guys who work without air conditioning, you have my utmost respect. This is not to discourage anyone from attending summer sessions, simply awareness for proper hydration, Sun protection and staying cool. Having thermo regulation issues, I am extremely cautious from late May to early September. If northern Alabama is convenient, Randy is offering this same event next weekend. Our next planned class at Windrock is Sunday, October 2. Please consider joining us for our fundamentals of fighting in and around your vehicle. Watching the news, it may be a skill set worth adding to your training journey.1 point

I have 2 Les Baer's and can vouch for what tremendous shooters they are. When I want to hit the range with a 1911 that is a flat out shooter I grab my PII.1 point

I've never been a big fan of the AR-style platform, having carried an M16 during my time in the Corps and coming away unimpressed. But when the big push to ban "assault rifles" came along I bought a DPMS rifle. I don't shoot it very often, but I've owned it for quite a long time now with no problems or complaints. Have fun with yours.1 point

Just glad you figured it out in the end. That’s a better story than “I got scammed”. I came close on the ammo purchases.1 point

Classicfirearmsshop.com is definitely a scam. I bought an old sks engorged in cosmoline from classicfirearms.com a few years ago so when I searched for another gun recently the SECOND search result for Classicfirearms.com was this one. It's right there on the search results! Didn't think a thing about it when I found how professional the site looked. Same as with the other posts in this thread, PayPal and Zelle were payment options along with credit card. Eagerly I went through every step wanting the deal that was offered. Thank God for the security measures imposed by creditors for online purchases. I really made every effort to make the buy but could not for the life of me transfer my hard earned dollars to Nigeria (or wherever). Yeah, lesson learned after moving the effort to text messages. They were eager to help as cc payments failed after multiple attempts. Tried cashapp and others to no avail. They said they accept gift cards and suggested going to Walmart. So I'm standing in the store looking at the cards when I see that none of the cards will cover the cost of the purchase. Gift cards there are limited to $500. I'd have to buy multiple cards and pay all those costs. Yep, it took that for me to think about what I was doing. I walked around the store for a bit and walked back out. Then I made the call. It took that long. Yes, I'm a dope. So I called the legit site and explained my dilemma. The gal on the other side was like, "What, never heard of that." Then it clicked. OK before I get all the hate, check my perspective. I've not made an online purchase since the sks and am well aware of the hate from the pay companies like PayPal and Chase for guns so it was easy to come to the conclusion that it's just plain difficult to buy a gun online. So after I got my head out of my... I went to a legit site and got what I wanted. Lesson learned. I suppose the best lesson is call when in doubt. Thought I knew all the tricks, but it's their full time job ripping us off. Learn from my mistake.1 point

Late as well. I have a pair of Heritage .22s. One with a convertible cylinder for the WMR. My wife and daughter LOVE shooting them, and I won't lie, I do as well. I also have a Pietta 10(?) shot that is based on a full size that I tend to shoot more, just as it fits my hand better. In the last week or so though, I have decided that I MUST have a Wrangler Birdshead. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find one in stock. Your picture just made my desire worse. Thank you for that. I hope you and your daughter have fun with it, you can not go wrong with a Ruger single action IMO.1 point

Another reason to go CAT is that a larger percentage of people know how to use them. I'm a SWAT medic and while our guys are free to set their kits up however they want for the most part I want their blow out kits pretty much universal. One guy kept putting his old RATS in his. Finally convinced him that he wants every guy on the team to know how to save him quickly and not have to figure out some different device.1 point

I'm a huge believer in individual freedom. I don't believe anybody should have the authority to tell any individual what they can or can't do with their own body. The choice to get or not get an abortion is between the woman, her conscience and God. Frankly, its nobody else's damned business. Abortion is not and never should have been a legal issue. Its a moral issue.1 point

It's amazing that no matter how high speed we try to get, the basics still work just fine at a faction of the price. Give me that cheapest in the aisle toothbrush, CLP or Rem Oil, a basic bore brush, a cloth or old t-shirt, some qtips, pipe cleaners, and a dental pick...I'll get any gun clean enough to take back to the range, or keep ready to go.1 point

https://coltgunsusa.com and https://coltmunition.com They have every Colt imaginable in-stock (yeah right) and at prices from 3 years ago. Zelle and crypto. https://coltgunstore.com Similar to the above (all in stock, low prices) but you can't add to cart unless you register. No thanks.1 point

A friend of mine just asked this morning if a gun site (https://taurususaguns.com/) was legitimate. It looks like a valid site, but bells start ringing when a firearm dealer doesn't show a physical address or phone number anywhere. What really screamed "Scammer" is they only accept Zelle or Cryptocurrency for payment. Always make sure you have a recourse to recover your money from online purchases.1 point

Well known character actor L. Q. Jones has passed away at age 94. I really liked him. He brought something special to every role.
