I wouldn’t gloat too much. I have a feeling things are going to get really ugly very, very soon.5 points

This is a huge reason we needed Trump over hillary during those crucial 4 years of multiple SCOTUS appointments. A lot of people say it makes no difference dem or gop, but it matters a lot. Just imagine if we would of had hillary’s appointments rulling on this instead of trump’s.5 points

Technically the first ruling is not a win for states rights but it's a win for freedom and the right call.4 points

I'll say it. A win for States Rights, where it belonged in the first place.4 points

This may be the two most significant days in our lifetimes as it relates to the constitution. I am not making a statement on today specifically, but it’s great to see a true constitutionalist court.4 points

Far more guns are damaged or worn out by excessive cleaning than excessive shooting.3 points

I don't agree on this. I think yesterday's Supreme Court ruling is going to provoke a flurry of lawsuits against existing gun laws and that new laws will all be subject to careful scrutiny. There are elements of the current gun bill (dealing with mental health and juvenile criminal records) that actually might be helpful, and I'm thinking now that the egregious elements of any new gun law will be vigorously contested. Our gun rights organizations will have fertile ground for potential lawsuits. It's a great day in America. Cheers, Whisper3 points

I have been meaning to build a set of cornhole boards for a while. I have buddies coming over to shoot tomorrow so in the spirit I did this. Just need a couple of coats of poly on it.2 points

Told y’all nothing was going to happen concerning gun control. Even the bipartisan gun bill before the senate is really nothing when you think about it. I have no problem with making 21 the legal age to purchase a rifle. I don’t like the proposed red flag laws. That’s a law just waiting to be abused. Conservatives have the Supreme Court that they wanted. Robert’s court has consistently shown that it rules in favor of conservative issues. I think the older folks paranoid about the big gun grab can relax for the duration of their lives. Younger individuals are good to go for the foreseeable future. We’re good to go, and the Democrats are happy the SC is letting them off the hook as far as gun control.2 points

I'd look for a gun buy back campaign and make a buck or two.2 points

Just 3d printed this frame. Not sure if the video will play. It needs a little more cleanup to remove some of the support material that is used to support the model on the printer bed during printing. So far, it's been a fun project. IMG_2357_smaller.mp41 point

TGO AutoModerator Reply PLEASE READ THIS TO AVOID BEING SCAMMED Be very wary of people who contact you privately to offer an item for sale. Every single time someone has been scammed via a Want To Buy ad on TGO, the scammer has done it privately. Force them out into the open so that the other members and moderators can help make sure they pass the sniff test. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Negative feedback should inspire caution. Come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. NEVER, EVER agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun!! None of them, that we are aware of, will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. The complete Trading Post Rules and also some more helpful suggestions can be found by clicking this link. Everyone should read them at least once! ~~~ This was an automatic reply ~~~1 point

I couldn't read the entire article because I'm not a member. But from what I saw, it looks like the lawyers quit the firm. Correct? Good for them. I'm sure they will be quite successful with pro-2nd clients.1 point

For an indoor range, Top Gun is OK. You might also look at Eagle Eye as an outdoor range as it's a bit closer. If you are going to be shooting often, look into an annual membership as it'll save you a considerable amount. Eagle Eye Shooting Complex 9613 Elk Ridge Rd, Mount Pleasant, TN 38474 931-379-7977 If going to Eagle Eye, I suggest calling ahead and making sure there are no events scheduled before driving down.1 point

My grandfather never cleaned any of his guns lol. Ever. He was a regular hunter his whole life, so he used them a lot. When I got some of his old guns they were heavily used and some probably 50yrs in need of a cleaning. Yes, they were rough (character marks ), but they're fine. I wouldn’t worry about it at all. He loved to tell me the story how he dropped his 300H&H in a creek in OR crossing a log while elk hunting. Sounded like a real chore to actually get it back. I often look at it and think of how many stories that rifle could tell. It sure did need a good cleaning when he finally passed it on. I never bothered to clean his revolver. I figured it’s been a great shooter for 50yrs like it is, why should I mess with it now lol. I don't want to mess with it’s mojo. I clean my own guns regularly, but the way he used his firearms taught me that it’s usually for my benefit more than the gun’s lol.1 point

Saying they all come from the same forges therefore have no difference is like saying all Bourbons have no difference since they come from the same corn. You don’t shoot forged blanks Greg hit biggies on components , but would also say assembly and upper tolerances play a sizeable understated part in it. In the case of a kit that comes with an assembled upper as was the ask, even more true. Now if it’s a complete roll your own, that is a different discussion.1 point

What would you suggest we do about the indians living in poverty? I agree they got a raw deal, but I or anybody else alive today didn't have anything to do with it, why am I guilty of the sins of my forefathers? I'm guilty just because I'm white and happened to be born in the US, neither of which I had any control over. I 100% agree that we should love our neighbor as ourselves, but I think we all fall short of that from time to time. I do agree that we should quit trying to edit history to suit our needs. I also agree that you can be the best parents in the world and have a rotten child, I've seen it happen. It is also true that you could have the most rotten childhood anybody could imagine and still turn out alright. Both of those scenarios are out of the norm though. I can't lay my finger on a single thing that causes somebody to want to go into a school and shoot it up, I think it is an accumulation of a bunch of things to create these monsters, but I do think a collapse of the traditional family has a lot to do with it. The problem with that is, nobody wants to hear that you should put more thought into who you marry and have kids with, and you need to try harder to stay married and take care of your kids, and you shouldn't have kids outside of marriage.1 point

Society has collapsed as a whole. We've had devices readily available to create mass casualty events for well over 100 years, but indiscriminate mass casualty events on innocent people and children is something that really just started in the last 30 years. I mean, even in the wild west where everybody carried a gun and a short temper would never think of just going in and shooting up a school or church. David is 100% spot on, we have schools that are not much more that indoctrination camps to make good little liberals, kids with just one parent or no parents, and all other matter of debauchery that has now become commonplace. You have the government, the Sate run media, and social media all pushing this agenda, and willing to destroy anybody that speaks against them, and don't even realize that they are the ones causing this problem. This isn't something that came about in the last few years, I will submit it really started gathering steam in the '60s with all the peace, love, and "free" thinking. It has really went into overdrive within the last 10 years or so. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see us doing anything but getting worse and worse, people as a whole have just become to depraved and self centered to even consider a different point of view. We have to try though, and try hard any way we can. To fix the problem will take years, because it took us many years to get to this point. I don't think God is punishing us for our bad behavior, but he is willing to watch us reap the rewards of our foolish actions.1 point

I'm a Christian, but readily admit that I'm not a very good one. However, I do see the removal and demonizing of religion in this country as a driving factor in our demise as a society. With the possible exception of radical Islam, all religions, not just Christianity, strive to teach people moral values. How to be a good person and how you should treat you're fellow man. Its about believing in something greater than yourself and contributing to the betterment of society. On another forum, someone brought up respect. As a child of the 1950s, I grew up respecting my parents, respecting my elders, respecting authority and respecting my government. There were people to respect, look up to and try to be like. What do today's young people have to respect? Most barely know their parents. They're taught that older people are fools. And when it comes to authority and government, well, even I have lost all respect for them. Young people today have very few people to look up to. They don't respect anyone and worse, they don't respect themselves. Its not that they don't know right from wrong, its that the line has become so blurred that they've lost hope and just don't care.1 point
