I went in many doors first second or third man with no idea who, what, or how many were on the other side. They knew they had one armed kid and many victims. Hard to fathom really.6 points

One of two things would happen 1: They would have had to shoot me. 2: Two I would have gotten my Wife out. I would probably be dead or going to prison but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I didn't do it.5 points

Christian Craighead, he was the SAS operative who assisted in the stopping 2019 Nairobi, Kenya hotel terrorist attack. He was in town for training, grabbed his gear out of his vehicle and went in to help. Got a bunch of medals for it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nairobi_DusitD2_complex_attack3 points

"Everybody wants to be a gangster until it's time to do gangster ####." I knew there were Shaq sized clown shoes on everyone the first time I heard "key" and "breach" in the same sentence. If they want to have equipment and training like soldiers, they need to be ready to move out like soldiers. Three Privates and a Specialist for a team leader could have handled this situation. It's pretty clear they had all the tools in hand to deal with the situation. Maybe there is some allowance for confusion over the active shooter vs. hostage belief...but even then with kids the rules change as I understand it. This is an abject failure all around, and if there is no accountability, that will make it all the worse.3 points

The head of the Texas DPS lays it out quite clearly right here. As he says everything that we the public and law-enforcement agencies have learned and settled on as doctrine since Columbine was disregarded here. In the case of a mass shooting like this you don’t wait for back up. You don’t wait for equipment. You go in even if it’s you by yourself. That is explicit and clear in the training that the officers in Uvalde have received on multiple occasions even just weeks prior to this. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CfEpaToltGu/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= There is zero excuse for what happened here.3 points

Every time you think that surely it can’t get any worse a new detail is revealed and we find out that it absolutely gets worse. https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2022/06/21/officer-husband-of-slain-uvalde-teacher-was-detained-had-gun-taken-away-after-trying-to-save-wife/ Before this is all over with there is a significant possibility that Pete Arredondo‘s name will be placed next to Lon Horiuchi’s in the hall of shame of egregious acts of malfeasance by law-enforcement.2 points

I have an AR chambered in 6.5 Grendel built with what I think are some of the strongest most reliable parts. It has a 22" stainless Criterion barrel with a VG6 Epsilon 6.5 muzzle brake and a Geissele super gas block with a black melanite rifle length gas tube and a Geissele MK8 15" modular rail. It is in Ballistic Advantage enhanced upper and lower just like Aero M4E1 because they are Ballistic was purchased by Aero a few years ago and started offering BA enhanced receivers. Geissele ambidextrous charging handle Seekins oversized bolt catch Geissele SSA-E trigger. It has a Luth-AR rifle stock that is adjustable for comb and length and has a Hogue pistol grip. Just built the exact same rifle in 6mm ARC so I don't really need this anymore. I don't have 50 rounds through this thing yet I feel like I build faster than I can even break them in. Any questions call or text 224-402-4433 I'm in Baxter the scope is a Crimson Trace Series 2 5x25x56 34 mm tube FFP MOA held on with a ADM Recon total package scope and all is $1700.001 point

Knives are 8 3/8" long with a blade length of 4" , full flat grind on blade. The handles are nicely shaped to fit in the hand comfortably. Top one has Black Palm scales, bottom one is Rosewood. Thanks for looking.1 point

It’s already a shyt show. I can’t recall her title, but some female said that they weren’t providing information right now, because the shooter is dead and they need at least six months to investigate. That timeline puts the completion of the investigation after the mid-term elections. They should have a scapegoat by then. Good point about the small team of privates lead by a spec4. They would have cleared the room without breaking a sweat.1 point

I glanced over that earlier and it’s actually a pretty good, general, all-around intro to handloading. More than one manual is always better of course and highly recommended. One key takeaway from that document provided by the manufacture of the powder in question is they do not list Ramshot Enforcer for .38 Special This and this again. @CHAPPY38 There are plenty of powders that have been in use for decades and decades. Stick with what is well known, not what is available.1 point

Hornady has some load data downloads here: https://www.hornady.com/support/load-data/ Hodgdon has load data here showing some Ramshot powder https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center I am afraid you might be out of luck though. Ramshot states: "Enforcer is the best choice for high performance, full-power loads in magnum handgun cartridges. It is ideally suited for the 44 Magnum, 454 Casull, 460 S&W and 500 S&W." My suggestion would be to start with a powder that has manufacturer load data for your caliber and bullet. Save the Enforcer or maybe trade it for another powder.1 point

Here is some data, you will have to pay to get it. https://www.xxl-reloading.com/Ramshot-Enforcer I will keep looking1 point

You need a reloading manual asap. Having a buddy show you how to load is good, a manual is better if you're new.1 point

Semis: Springfield 1911 TRP in .45, Israili Arms Baby Eagle in .45, Kimber Ultra Carry II Compact 1911 in .45, p226 in .40, Glock 19x, and last but not least CZ-P07 duty in 9mm, (these were the 1st gens that still said cz-75 on the slide and the lower frame was a little fatter in the hand without Interchangeable backstraps, I actually prefer the older style lowers than the newer, they just seem to fit the hand better.) Revolvers: Ruger Super Blackhawk S/A .44mag, Taurus Bull in .357, Taurus Tracker in .357, and owned a small 2" Taurus 5 shot .357 that was great for being on the bike.1 point

Some will run undersized bullets and some will not. The longer bullets seem to work better when you're doing this however twist becomes an issue and some point.1 point

You are correct about the standard being around .312 its actually .310-.311 but Hornady lists .308 diameter in their manuals for an SKS, which is what I'm shooting out of, and I currently load 155gr Hornady ELD Match bullets, get great performance out of these. Also Hornady makes 7.62x39 brass.1 point

Well, I've seen subsonic ammo with rounds this heavy for AKs, that's why I got curious. And as far as how much room for powder is concerned, there's plenty room in case for powder and the projectile, with some to spare. I mean, you ever loaded 147gr 9mm? That bullet is practically touching the powder on some of those charges. (Yes theres room between bullet and powder still, but very very little)1 point

As a former LEO I have mixed feelings about this. While I understand the importance of proper back-up and equipment, I don't think that I could stand by while children were being shot. I probably would have done something "stupid" but at least I would try to save children's lives.1 point

They will use this to eventually go after the rest of firearms, including revolvers, hunting rifles and shotguns. It's just a matter of time, unless we hold the line here.1 point

I have a high metabolism, I can work inside the walk-in cooler at 35° with no jacket on for hours. I can work outside in the winter time for hours no issues. However much above 80° I suffer terrible, it goes over 90 I have to be extremely careful or I will overheat.1 point

You’re crazy. Everybody at work today was bitching about the heat and a few said, “I can’t believe it’s this hot.” Ummmmm news flash, it’s Memphis, it does this every summer, at least the past 50 summers… And the news doesn’t talk about the temperature any more. Heat index sounds scarier I guess.1 point
