I came across this as a result of the post that another of our members recently made regarding the rescuing of that STG44…it came from same site. This is absolutely wonderful, except for that very last sentence. I realize that I’m preaching to the choir here, but a little edification never hurt a congregation, does it? Here’s the link to the original…. A firebrand Southern lawmaker spoke out against further restrictions on the Second Amendment during a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing this week. Congressman Clay Higgins, the straight-talking Louisiana lawman who earned a reputation as the "Cajun John Wayne" before running as a Republican for Congress, confronted Joseph Gramaglia, the Police Commissioner for Buffalo, New York, over the Commish’s support for controversial "red flag" gun seizure laws. "So, you support confiscating guns from individuals 'determined to be a threat to themselves or others – determined to be,'" asked Higgins. "By this legislation, my colleagues are putting forth, my understanding of the letter of that law, which I 1,000 percent oppose as would our Founding Fathers, the letter of that law says an anonymous tip from a citizen. So, if this was law, Commissioner, would you confiscate? Would you go to your neighbor’s home and confiscate his legally owned weapons? A man that was not under criminal investigation nor under arrest. Would you do it? Gramaglia: The red flag laws would... Higgins: That’s a yes or no, brother. I got five minutes to make an hour and a half statement here. Gramaglia: It’s more than a yes or no answer. It would be up to – it would... Higgins: We’ll move on. If you cannot say yes, you would confiscate weapons from an American citizen that was subject to this law that my colleagues intend to push through this Congress, and you said in your statement that you would confiscate those weapons if an American was determined to be – your quote – a threat to themselves or others. According to the letter of the law, determined to be is defined by an anonymous tip that an American citizen is a threat to themselves or others. You’re a police commissioner, a "thin blue line" brother sworn to uphold the Constitution, and you’re saying you’d seize those weapons. I see that as a problem. Then Higgins sat back and delivered a monologue on life, liberty, and gun laws, which is just a home run. Higgins this week voted against both H.R. 7910 and H.R. 2377, Democrat anti-gun laws which passed the House on roughly party-line votes.

It changed the way war was fought, and changed the world of small arms. It represents a turning point in history, and continues to make it, in small ways like this. “Usually, this rifle would be issued to SS troops,” said Cavanna. “In excellent condition, this gun is rated at $30,000 to $40,000.” The StG 44 was a war trophy belonging to the woman’s father. “You could kill a solider back then, and if the captain of your fighting unit signed off on it, you could send that gun home to your family or kid brother or cousin. Anything you wanted. Her father, who was a World War II army man, had brought this gun home from the European theater,” Cavanna said. Cavanna is not just a peace officer but also a gun historian, and we thank him from rescuing this artifact and elevating himself above the buyback fray. The owner will be allowed to keep the rifle and sell it to a museum. “The chance to see a piece of history—this…is absolutely unbelievable,” said Officer Lewis Crabtree of the Hartford Police Dept. “This is a gun that should actually be in a museum rather than in a shredder.” Gun buybacks are already hugely controversial. At best they disarm the poor, at worst they are used to destroy evidence and artifacts like these. For every gun buyback that’s exploited as a children’s fundraiser, there are dozens that raise all sorts of red flags like this recent buyback in Massachusetts that exchanged guns for flu shots. But it’s nice to see that there are sometimes silver linings to these largely ineffective and counter-productive programs. And we hope that other officers follow his lead. We’ve all heard stories of amazing, often singular firearms going to the big armory in the sky because they were found by people who didn’t know better and they turned them into gun buyback programs. The world needs more John Cavannas. Keep up the good work, and as gun lovers, we’re all in your debt."

It will probably die in the Senate. However, due to the extreme emotion involved, some Republicans may vote for it just for PR purposes. I sent e-mails to Blackburn and Hagerty both encouraging them to not only vote against it, but to keep those on the fence in line. I suggest you do too.

I just got this as my many month search for a commander variant was not successful and of course as soon as I get this exactly what I want becomes available. So I bought that too and this now has to go unfortunately. Cherry condition Dan Wesson Vigil in 9mm, comes with everything you see including the new VZ grips (wood DW included). It is an absolute dream to shoot and far more accurate than I can be. These are next to impossible to find due to limited production and are some of the softest shooting pistols I've ever fired. With the alloy frame and 25lpi checkering, it's a fantastic carry piece without the usual 1911 weight. $1400 in the greater Nashville area.

I purchased this one last night from an individual that I bought from before. This is a .22cal with a 6"Bbl and orginal box, I believe it was made between 1978-1979. Should be here next week, he's out of town until this Friday so I can pay him for it.9

please hear me out on this… As ashamed as I am at the fact that I’m quoting myself here…it’s only to call attention to a bit of an oversight on my part. I am guilty of never clicking links to videos; when given the choice of text or video, I will choose text 100% of the time. Since this is my first experience with being a part of an online community, I find myself with a bit of a learning curve. Several hours after starting this topic, it dawned on me that I had included the above link along with the body of the corresponding article without bothering to make sure the video matched the transcription! Not a problem, and I appreciate that. I’m just looking for something used but not too salty. I know guys get these and take them off uppers and “save them for later” never to be used again.

IMO, its optimistic to think anyone other than a low-level staff reads Congressional emails. For the record, I still send them too!

Just got these in today's mail. First one is their new Tactical Knives series, this one has a SV35 Blade Steel and is a Frame Lock in OD Green. Second one is their Trapper Prayer Series of Knives. This one has some special meaning to me since I've been going through Chemotherapy Treatments for a year and 5months, I'm going to carry this one in my pocket as a reminder to keep fighting to be able to beat it. One big point not fully mentioned is now instead of a few hundred dollars, I am guessing the owner will see several thousand in return for the gun.
