There is no argument on the face of this earth that can justify law enforcement standing by outside for 40 minutes to an hour+ while a monster murders children inside. As Krystal Ball (who I do not agree with on much at all) states in this segment (paraphrasing) “if the oath to protect and serve is for anything at all, is it not for this moment?” To those officers who stood by while children were being slaughtered inside, I will judge them as the cowards they are. They might as well be accessories to the atrocity inside. Anyone who wears a badge needs to have the knowledge that they are willing and capable of taking action in a situation like this. If they are not, then they are nothing more than a thief stealing from the taxpayers while being unwilling or unable to do the very basest level of what they have pledged to do for their community. I don’t know how I would react in that situation it is very true. What I do know is that if I stood by and let children be slaughtered like that, I would eat my own bullet before the week was out because I would know that I do not deserve to draw breath any longer.9 points

Hello all, Looking to sell my lightly used Glock 19. I've taken this to the range maybe 2x in the handful of years that I have owned it. It has mostly been a nightstand home defense gun. Looking to pass it on to someone now. Comes with gun, box, papers, 3 mags, backstraps, and 50+ rounds of Federal HST and some other assorted hollow point ammo. Also mounted on the gun is a Streamlight TLR-1. Asking $550 cash in Nashville for all of it. Basing my price on Gunbroker's data, haven't been keeping up with the market lately.3 points

When I was with the Sheriff's Dept. we did active shooter training each year, sometimes within our Dept, sometimes with other depts. We trained & were told, the first one or more on the scene to enter immediately & neutralize the threat. This came about after Columbine, where officers waited outside for SWAT to arrive. That's been the standard since. It hasn't always been followed. So, if the BP officer was first, as reported, it was his job, regardless of jurisdiction.3 points

Most of us raise our kids and tell them to be capitalist, but we give them everything without requiring them to work for it. Capitalism = good Socialism = bad We raise them in Socialism. We tell them they are special. Everyone gets a trophy. No bullying ever. They get older and realize that their not special. They have to work to get what they want and the first time they fail or someone says bad things to them, they can't cope. This is our fault as a society. We need to let them fail when they're 5 years old. We need to teach them how to deal with people that say bad things. That's the problem. We have to fix it and that's someone else's job. We are too busy for that nonsense.3 points

I'm actually hearing the opposite. The CPB agent went in AFTER local police failed to. I'm sure more details will come out in the following days. This is reminding me of the Parkland shooting though.2 points

I finally got a few rounds through one of these and was pretty impressed with it. The trigger was something I could work with, and the sights and safety were a big improvement over even the MkIII standards. Accuracy was good too.2 points

I usually tell people who have problems with Glocks to remember to point their support hand thumb at the target. This forces you to roll your wrists forward which gets the sights on target. People always say "lock your wrists" but that means nothing me to at all, my wrists don't have keyholes Over time, you just automatically tell yourself, "Pick up a Glock, thumb toward target"2 points

I am not familiar with the commentators in the video, but there is some armchair QBing and assumptions being made. I just heard part of a press conference and it was revealed that supposedly most of the shooting was at the beginning and it apparently became a quasi-hostage negotiation. Also, there was no armed officer in the school when the shooting started, which contradicts what we were told initially. The shooter entered the school through an unlocked door. I wasn’t there and don’t know what officers did or should have done, but I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until a lot more facts are available.2 points

Just wanted to commend you on the sheer quality of those photographs that you uploaded with your advert! It truly left nothing up to interpretation. IMHO, you’ve just given a master class on how to properly sell a firearm (or anything) online, and I just felt compelled to point this out. You’ve basic given a clinic here….those great pics along with the information in print literally answered just about any question a prospective buyer would have, without ever having to ask! Pricing was excellent, proven by how very quickly a buyer came forward. One cannot help but notice that this is the common denominator with just about every item that languishes here - many of us are guilty of trying to recoup our cumulative purchase price as if it were brand new, lol sometimes even after years of usage! I’m personally guilty of this, and I’m trying to get better about it…with me, I’m pretty sure that, within the first minute of placing an advert, I’m already wrestling with whether or not I really want to sell it in the first place! Great job, really! You’ve given me a lot to think about! Congrats to all parties!2 points

Sir, I beg of you to please give this some more thought. Granted, this is a forum of gun owners, for gun owners, by gun owners, but don’t make the mistake of equating the carrying of a firearm with the possessing of the internal fortitude to actually use one to end the life of another human being. It’s very easy for us to sit here, while in relative comfort and safety, and criticize these officers for their actions (or inactions), is it not? This is always a temptation for most of us, but I pose the question “how can we be certain that we’d do any better?” Do you want to know how to tell the difference between a veteran of the military versus a vet that has been in combat? A man who has been in combat will never second guess a man’s actions once the bullets start to snap, not from his armchair, anyhow. I attest to you right now that until one experiences such an encounter, there is absolutely no way to know how one might react! With God as my witness, I will say that a man whom everyone counted on as being a leader became a quivering baby, and some others that I would’ve bet my life would be the first to call for mama while sucking their thumbs actually transitioned into absolute animals! Is this logical? Not at all but on my very life I can attest to the reality of it. Please, sir, know that I respect your opinions whether or not I agree with you or not. I’ll go a step further and encourage you to speak out from your heart no matter what people like me have to say. I see how you get knocked around a bit on here for having a bit of different perspective than the status quo and that’s a very, very good thing in any conversation. I applaud you for it…doesn’t mean I have to agree though, same for you. Fact is, fellers, there is nothing that can be done, ever, to prevent this type of thing when the perpetrator is determined. I know there are some people on here that have worked in jails and prisons…I’m sure they all have stories about the resourcefulness of the determined criminal mind. The sad truth is that these incidents begin in the home….the family, or sadly, the lack thereof. There is an attack on family, morals, community, and God that is being hurled at as all from myriad fronts, but it is the corrupt news media that is the spearhead. Until they are held accountable (you know, the concept that all the rest of us are guided by) for what they are knowingly and maliciously doing to the people of this country, it can only get worse! Propagating lies, fear, anger, and division to the masses, and for what? Ratings? Greed? Entertainment? It is pure, unadulterated EVIL. There is only one WAY to overcome evil.2 points

I should have known. No way in hell am I wading through that morass of bull####. Reddit is full of the worst people on the internet. If it was up to me I’d ban links to it as a matter of general policy. I treat Reddit links like someone having pronouns in their bio. It’s just a giant neon sign that says “nothing of value is to be found in the words written here.”2 points

Young fella, you have every right to hold this opinion, or any other one for that matter, but, if you want to have people respect your ideas, what you should strive for is to qualify your statements with the factual evidence that you used to reach your opinion. Many people in this age have strong opinions to share, but very seldom do you hear how they got there. This statement that you made earlier would be a very irresponsible thing to put into circulation if you cannot back it up with factual evidence. I think you will find that you are in the company of some extremely well informed and intelligent Tennesseans (myself excluded, obviously) who know a thing or two about our government, and may not appreciate here-say…which is basically a statement that makes an assertion yet lacks the evidence to confirm whether or not it’s the truth. Look, please don’t think that I’m picking on you here, because I am not. Rather, I’m trying to give you some helpful advice. Making a claim like the one that you made is akin to what is being fed to the misinformed every waking hour from the corrupt news media in this country. Thanks to social media, non-events are flamed into conflagrations in no time flat because we are living in a time where people simply react in a knee jerk fashion rather than take the time to find out whether something is true or not. Sometimes, God forbid, innocent people get hurt. This is tragic. What if some day in the future you work for an employer who bids on, say, a government contract? Perhaps this contract requires you to obtain a clearance to work on a sensitive piece of equipment. When those fact finders dig into your life (and they most certainly will), a statement where you publicly go on record and blame the government for a heinous act such as the one perpetrated by that disturbed young man will not be to your advantage. When we hit ‘send’, our words go out into cyberspace and you can’t simply reel it back in. Do I agree with that? No, no I do not. Everyone has said things, thought things, even done things that they regret as soon as it happens (myself very much included!). People change, opinions change, people grow, mature, become wiser, smarter and to judge someone’s lifelong merits based on a tweet or text is the definition of insanity…but these are the times we are living in, unfortunately. These terrible events are not going to go away. They are here to stay and they’ll keep getting worse because the die has been cast and there’s no turning back. We as a nation have collectively turned our back on the only One who could possibly right this sinking ship. Professing to be wise, we’ve become as fools. It is far too late to save this country but, thankfully, people can still be SAVED. Brothers, if you want to understand why these things are happening, just search the Scriptures. Solomon (who has the distinction of being the wisest mortal to have ever lived) wrote “there is nothing new under the sun”. Think about that for a minute….all the ‘advances’ our society has made…the technology, even! It’s nothing new, only packaged differently is all. It was Paul the Apostle who reminded/warned us in Ephesians Chap 6 and verse 12 that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. Just in case anyone isn’t familiar with “principalities, powers, and rulers”, those are different ranks, or classes of wicked supernatural entities that serve the (little g) god of this world, also known as “the Prince of the Power of the Air” - our Adversary, Satan and this is all his doing. This domain is his until Christ returns to take it from him. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.2 points

Garufa, I can't begin to explain officers waiting outside while children are being killed. Also, can't understand the Supreme Court decision. There's no shortage of explanations, but most make no sense, at least to me. Wonder how well they sleep at nite.1 point

My recommendation: image the largest safe you would ever need in your lifetime - then double the estimate. I bought what I thought was a huge safe - and now I have two, plus a locking cabinet for accessories, etc.1 point

Our family has had good experiences with Airstream. Back in the day with a family of six, we had one of the larger models - probably the Classic. After all the kids moved out, my folks downsized to a smaller model - Flying Cloud. No particular issues from what I remember, but my dad did spend a lot of time cleaning things up and fixing damage if mice got in (barn storage). The riveting and clear coat also needed eventual attention. If you find a decent deal, I would say go for it.1 point

Amen to the last 2 paragraphs. It's a Godlesss Society we live in or as you said a society being run by the adversary. Satan has taken over and theres no way god is happy looking down at all the things going on. I'm not necessarily talking about this event here as much as all the other crap going on in the country. He is a vengeful God and people need to get to know him quick, I'm not sure how much time we have left. i'll be on that narrow path right there with you JD.1 point

One last note that I'll add... and take it for what it's worth. If you are into RVing, the cost really isn't about fuel, etc. It's about time with your family. I've spent a zillion bucks on my truck, fuel, and the RV I used to have, but it's all been worth the experiences I've had with my family. It's all been worth the cost, a million times over. Money is tight these days, but if you can make some memories and spend some good times with your family, go for it.1 point

Then you are extremely fortunate if that’s actually the case. Many folks vastly overestimate how much mental health coverage they really have until they find the need to make use of it. Most health insurance provides very little to no coverage for mental health. My wife and I are dealing with this issue now as she is wanting to pursue therapy that has been long put off and is still holding off because of the expenses involved are very difficult to make work. (We have a heavy load of medical expenses related to two of our kids being in therapy for sensory processing issues.) Hell, I’m probably going to be selling a few guns to help defray those costs. That’s not a “woe is me” tale, but simply saying you’re being awfully glib about a subject that is a major concern and struggle for a lot of folks. You’re speaking from either a place of great privilege or ignorance or just maybe even a little of both.1 point

Kid in drag doesn't appear to be the shooter, but the parallels to Sandy Hook are striking, seems like the grandmother, like Lanza's mother, had worked for the school according to some articles. I don't think him ending up there was a coincidence, more than likely he meant to end up there. He was engaged at the entrance, by one, then two additional LEOs, but he outgunned the first, at the door, and went in. How we can afford to send a foreign country billions yet not spend anything to fortify our schools is mind numbing. We need to be like Israel and train and arm our teachers to be the final line of defense against these nut jobs. Actual problem is mental illness, Very hard to address. A solution would be to put more armed individuals in the schools to protect the unarmed innocent ones.1 point

I agree, but what is the actual problem? I don't understand what drives people to keep doing this. That's why coming up with any sort of solution seems so unlikely.1 point
