Selling a CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 pistol. Purchased new in 2021 and fired 5 rounds through to baptize it and try it out due to ammo shortage and cost. I have since moved into USPSA and just don't see a niche for keeping it. I have made the following upgrades. Pakse Sapper MLOK Handguard. Pakse Pathfinder vertical pistol grip. Pakse safety delete. Reduced trigger spring kit. Pakse enlarged ProStock magazine paddle magazine release, HB Industries Folding Pistol Brace, as well as 2 stock 20 rd magazines, and 2 - clear 30 rd magazines. . Basically all the upgrades suggested on Garand Thumbs website. Selling for $1100 cash. Thanks for looking.2 points

AK's love my AK's Big thing to understand is the design of 7.63x39, 5.45x39 and 5.56 Nato/223. The x39's have a slight taper to thier cases. This is the "magic" of thier well documented reliability. The case is only in full contact with the chamber walls when the bolt is in full battery. Any other point in the cycle of fire and there is "slop" or space and the case is loose in the chamber. 5.56 is straight walled thus meaning there is always bearring tension once the case enters the chamber all the way through the cycle till full extraction. Not a huge deal as there are plenty of highly reliable 5.56 auto loaders out there but just something to understand. The hiccup of 5.56 in AK's are the magazines. There is no standard and different AK's can end up needing different mags. Some are purprose built like Galils and a couple of latter military service designed 5.56 AK's when some of the former Warsaw Pact countries later joined NATO and needed to standardize ammo. Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, Yugo. All had thier own designs and the magazines were not always interchangable like 7.62 AK's usually are. These can get very expensive if you want say 20 mags and you have to be picky to the make and reliability can suffer in the aftermarket. Ammo is of corse widely available in bulk and specialty rounds. Reloading componnents are relatively easy to find at least for the time being for making bulk FMJ shooting ammo. More recently there are designs that are using AR mags with adapters to the bottom of the reciever. Seems like a good idea for affordable mags but in my humble opinion complicates the machine and adds another level of potential failure. That said, I have not played with one yet so I may be missing the boat. My only big standard with any AK, but especially in 5.56 is chrome lined barrel. I am the same in my AR's as well. I have found over the years that steel cases, lacquered and poly perform magnitues more reliable in a chrome chamber than any other setup. I once found a rusted shut Chinese SKS action in a barrel at a surplus store. Soaked in diesel oil for a week. beat it apart. Found the crome lined barrel to be pristine on the inside. scrubbed it, replaced springs and wood and it runs perfectly. All of my "combat", "SHTF", "who knows" guns have a chrome bores now. I digress but that is part of my reasoning. 5.45 AK's are having the more recent problems of high cost for the rifle itself, cost of magazines, and cost of ammo. A basic 5.45 AK will run you $1500 - 2k in today's market. Real surplus mags will be $25-50 each. Aftermarket mags are cheaper and reflest this in broken locking tabs and cracked feed lips. I use Magpuls in my 74 as a budget "stack deep" option but have true surplus mags in my "go to" stash. Ammo is stupid expensive right now. It used to be dirt cheap, like really dirt cheap but with import bans, wars, lack of domesitc support, that ship has sailed. Reloading isn't much better. I have/can find bullets, dies, primers, powder, just no cases. Hornady ran some a ways back but they haven't been instock of well over a year anywhere. 7.62 AK's are still under $1k for basic options. I prefer imported AK's to domestic ones but that is only my preference, your's might differ. Mags are still cheap as well at less than $10 each of you buy bulk even for surplus Euro steel mags which are 100% relaible if not dented, rusted or otherwise damaged. Plenty of polymer options as well. Just spend extra on ones with steel reinforcements. I have a box of broken cheap plastic mags to attest to this. 7.62x39 ammo while more expensive than it used to be is still widely available. Imported and domestic alike. There are plenty of offers to the reloader. I can usually find plenty of cases, primers, and powder, I just have a difficult time in bullets unless I want to load hunting ammo. All that said, most any AK is good option for your Mad Max needs. Just have to firgure in the nuances. Sorry I got winded on you but I love my AK's if you didn't notice. Lots to chew on there but I hope that helps.2 points

I've known I had to have one of these from the first moment I heard of them. Been looking hard for over year and nobody has had any one in my area. This morning I called all the LGSs and still no luck. A couple of days ago Chucktshoes that he had seen one at Cypress Creek Outdoors in Dyersburg. So just on a whim I called to see if it was still there. It WAS! With nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon, I jumped in my truck and headed North. I'm now the proud owner of a brand spankin' new Springfield Armory SA-35! BTW: price was MSRP at $699. Not being a fan of heavily checkered grips, I put a nice set of smooth Houge Pau Ferros on it. Looks great! I hope to get it to the range next week. Range report to follow. And here's an updated family portrait. Thanks Chuck! BTW: that's a very nice store. Everything an outdoorsman might need. Very friendly people too. Had a nice chat with the saleslady while I was there. If you're in the area, check it out.1 point

From the light hunter series, I don't think they make it anymore, but a great optic for hunting and anything else medium range. Very nice glass for the money. Reticle is like a German #4 with bdc. 400 with the aero mount, 350 without the aero mount. Located in Nashville area. https://vortexoptics.com/razor-hd-lh-1-5-8x32-g4-bdc-moa.html1 point

Model C535. New in the box. I never mounted the scope or put rings on it. It does have the illuminated reticle. It’s a Nightforce so not much more to say… $1,000.001 point

Range Report_ Took my 300BO and 6.5 Grendel to a buddies farm for some better shooting. The 300BO with the Bushnell TRS26 Red Dot shoots sweet. I was consistantly hitting a 1'x2' oval steel plate at 150yards (the longest steel we had yesterday). The 6.5 Grendel was just as nice. However with the scope, it was a bit easier to see the steel plate. The Grendel was shooting Wolf Steel case like it was candy.1 point

Yeah we really want all gun manufacturing controlled by foreign entities..... Though it may cone to something like that just to keep them out of courts. Though they are always gonna be pulled into cases because they have deeper pockets than the shooter.1 point

I have an older Saiga AK in .223 that eats steel case all day long. My AR is a bit more finicky with them. I have no clue what a Saiga in .223 costs now, since you can't get them anymore. I imagine they are quite expensive. Also. I run slightly modified Israeli Galill mags in my Saiga.1 point

That could be a smart play by manufacturers. Every year, go out of business, sell all your assets to a newly incorporated entity who goes into business. "Your honor, we didn't make that gun. We bought the IP and machinery from the company who did, but they're out of business now."1 point

Dash cameras are awesome and they sure help officers that are working a crash. It sometimes shows who is lying and who is not. I was working a crash where one truck t-boned another. Both said they each had a green light. The victim showed me his dash camera and he clearly had a green light and the other truck ran the red light. The guy that ran the red light lied to me after I gave him another chance. I then showed him other guy's video and he tucked his tail between his legs after that.1 point

I have one in each of the vehicles I drive. It has saved my butt in one accident in La Vergne. But for yesterday it just shows how quick things can go side ways. Glad the audio recording was turned off on it as it would have one long bleep. Just as the guy I was on the phone with.1 point

We have a 35' Wildcat 5th wheel. Have had RVs since 2001. On our 4th. Still camping but don't know how much longer we will be able to do it. Always wanted an Airstream but don't like the floor plans. They are rugged and last many years but are "Expensive."1 point

Since ARs are ever changing (at least to me ) I put an Ace SOCOM stock and a Bushnell TRS-26 and backup iron sights on the 300BO I also swapped the barrel to 6.5 Grendel on the one below, and added the bipod. It now has a 4.5-18x48 scope1 point

No. Treated clothes are good for several washings. I forget the exact amount but I think it is like 6 washings. I have done this with my turkey mesh facemasks. Once the permethrin dries it supposed to be fine. I do not know if they have done any long term studies so I can't say for sure but I hate ticks so I still do use it.1 point

I'm going to make a slight thread jack. I spend more time outdoors than in, I work in the woods and I'm often in nasty bug infested areas. Because of the frequency that I have to use conventional bug spray I started trying other things last year because I was concerned about the long term effects of using Off on a daily basis, often several times per day. With a little hesitation I tried Avon Skin so Soft, I wouldn't use it in social situations and I don't recommend it if you are hunting anything with a nose but as long as you don't mind the smell it works great against ticks, mosquitos, and biting gnats, I'm sure it works on other stuff too. I also used to coon hunt with some guys that would take garlic pills and swore that a tick wouldn't bite a person with concentrations of garlic in their systems. I haven't verified it myself but we used to run coons in the middle of the summer and those guys swore by it. I know permethrin works well, but I'm always looking for a natural alternative to chemicals.1 point

Here is something to consider, you know they didn’t just do this on a whim in the hope of creating a market. People had to actually be asking them for this. I know….right? As much as I’d want to satisfy my curiosity to know the who’s, why’s, and how many asked…Probably best not to know.0 points
